... No, this isn't another entry where I rip the DC United front office, call for the coach to be
fired, call for players to be traded, or question the scouting and talent acquistion operation at
the club.
I've made my feelings known. I don't think the team is going anywhere fast. And frankly, because
they are only one point ahead of being in last place among Major League Soccer's 16 clubs, and the
team below them, the expansion Philadelphia Union, have three games in hand on United, there isn't
much farther south they can go.

D.C. United kicks off another home campaign by welcoming the New England Revolution to the
nation's capital (7:30 p.m., MLS Direct Kick).
Both teams are coming off unimpressive season openers, with United falling 4-0 at Kansas City
and New England dropping a 1-0 result to the Los Angeles Galaxy at the Home Depot Center.

If you're an eagle-eyed regular reader of HEGS, you may recall at some point during the last week a
comment being made about dodgy Argentine NGOs trying to help secure funding for certain barra brava
gangs to travel to the World Cup in South Africa to support the national side in June. Now, if you

UK readers may remember that a month or so ago I was writing in When Saturday Comes about the
Argentine government's under-the-radar plans to try and finance a large group of barra bravas to
travel to the World Cup in South Africa come June. A couple of weeks ago there were some further
developments, and [.
One or two of the comments on my most recent Soccernet article suggest that Argentina's barra
bravas are no more than choreographed fans who are more passionate about the game than typical
English fans who turn up to the game and eat prawn sandwiches without looking at the pitch (that's
a typical English fan, apparently).
The goals from the 2-2 draw between Arsenal de Sarandí and Argentinos Juniors are online now at
last, and are embedded below for your viewing pleasure. Now I'm finally able to say I've enjoyed a
weekend of football action as HEGS author in Buenos Aires, I can also attempt something new to HEGS
you'll [.

En esta pido la colaboración de todos los motivados que puedan manejar el tema. No entiendo este
asunto de los barrabrava que, en el mismo avión abordado por los integrantes de la Selección
Argentina, llegaron a Sudáfrica. ¿Alguien conoce como funcionan y para qué, estos bravucones?
After the military-style concentración for the first week of Argentina's stay in South Africa, and
the opening-up of training to the press over the last few days, the selección's players have
finally been allowed an afternoon off following a morning ... Continue reading →

It's a battle of a pair of teams at the bottom of the table at the Home Depot Center as D.C.
United visits Chivas USA (ESPN2, 7pm PST).
Both clubs come into the match looking to salvage something from seasons that quickly gone awry.
For United, the club will look to build on a satisfying win at home against expansion Philadelphia
while Chivas USA looks for their first win since July 31st.
