Brian Clough's managerial career has been well documented, but it often completely overshadows
the success Clough had as a player. Whilst he was often accused of nepotism towards his son Nigel
whilst he was the manager of Nottingham Forest, it wasn't hard to see where the younger player got
his footballing talent from.
Carling Cup Third Round Draw: Manchester United Away To Leeds - originally posted on

Chelsea host Fulham in one of several all-Premier League ties in the third round of the Carling
Cup. Manchester United are away to Leeds while Liverpool, who seem to be taking the Carling Cup
very seriously this season, are away to Brighton.
Liverpool under-18s failed to bounce back from last week's defeat to Leicester and they suffered
another loss at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
After opening the FA Premier Academy League campaign with a victory Rodolfo Borrell's side were
beaten for a second time in succession when going down 2-0 at Nottingham Forest.
Its hectic at TGB HQ this week so its another late update.
Tonight the Champions League group stages kick off with our first game away at Standard Liege
and it looks like we may be kicking off with a weakened side. Robin van Persie is missing, as is
Almunia, Nasri, Walcott and Denilson not making the trip.

After missing both of the USA's World Cup qualifiers and the Hornets' weekend win over Barnsley
with a groin injury, Jay DeMerit will return to the roster for Tuesday's league game.
The draw earlier today handed us a home tie in round 4 of the Carling Cup against Scunthorpe, and
really we couldn't have wished for an easier tie as a route into the quarter-finals.
The last sixteen is dominated by Premier League sides, with most from the upper reaches still
involved. The full draw is as follows:
Blackburn Rovers v Peterborough United
Manchester City v Scunthorpe United
Tottenham Hotspur v Everton
Barnsley v Manchester United
Chelsea v Bolton Wanderers
Sunderland v Aston Villa

Some tasty fixtures to look forward to.
Arsenal will play Liverpool in the fourth round of the Carling Cup after the draw was
made on Saturday.
Holders Manchester United travel to Championship Barnsley, who are managed by former United striker
Mark Robins, while Manchester City host Scunthorpe.
