Tykes consider legal action over incident Original Video Sheffield United could do with a season
ticket at the courts right now. With Tevezcherano still bubbling away somewhere, the club is now
been threatened with some legal action of their own. Barnsley is considering legal action against
Blades defender Chris Morgan after a clash which left Iain Hume [.
That looks a bit sore This is the damage done by Sheffield United's Chris Morgan. He looks like he
has been beaten up by a thug on a night out. Well, one out of two, I suppose... Hume has apparently
been left with an 18-inch scar after his life-saving surgery.
Lobby for police charges against Chris Morgan An online petition has been launched calling on the
police and the FA to take action against Sheffield United defender Chris Morgan following the
incident which left Barnsley's Iain Hume in hospital with a fractured skull. The petition reads:
"We, the undersigned, wish to express our disgust at Chris Morgan's [.
The more I read about Iain Hume's head injury in Barnsley's recent game v Sheffield United, the
more I realize this is a potentially career ending injury. A cracked skull from a brutal elbow to
the head by Chris Morgan. Barnsley manager Simon Davey visited Iain and said he is now out of the
high dependency [.
FA let someone else clean up the mess Chris Morgan, the Sheffield United defender who put
Barnsley's Iain Hume in hospital with a fractured skull, has escaped further censure for the
incident. Morgan's flying elbow left Hume fighting for his life but the FA says it cannot take any
action. An FA spokesman said: "The FA has [.
We've already looked at Wigan defenders as likely cheap value this season, and today we look at a
Wigan midfielder. Anyone would think I was a Wigan fan (I am not). However they are a solid squad
that even the bookies think will not be relegated; most betting outlets putting them a comfortable
3 teams above the drop come the end of the season.
Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has added to the garrulous Nou Camp gossip layer cake that Didier
Drogba will no doubt leap out of in the summer by claiming that the Ivorian would be welcomed with
open arms at the Catalan club. (Daily Star) ...Meanwhile, Barca defender Lilian Thuram may leave
the Catalan giants and waltz over [.
For fans of Soccer Saturday this clip is a classic, as Matt Le Tissier commentates on the last few
moments of Barnsley's shock 2-1 win against Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup 5th Round. Brian
Howard's late goal prompts fits of laughter, Jeff Stelling going crazy and Phil Thompson looking
like he is about to cry.
Gawd, this is depressing. Less than a week before this nightmare WCQ campaign ends (Wednesday in
Jamaica) and still no roster from the CSA. I guess they are having trouble finding players who will
actually don the shirt for the MNT. But some good investigative work perusing club sites by OOT has
revealed a few [.
With Jens Lehmann apparently determined to leave the Emirates, Arsene Wenger is in the market to
acquire a goalkeeper in this month's transfer window. Spain is Wenger's shopping centre of choice,
according to media reports. Espanyol Barcelona keeper Kiko Casillas, an U21 international who came
out of Real Madrid's system, is said to be rated highly [.

That can't be described as anything other than comical.
How often has Liverpool failed to learn a simple lesson? No matter how dominant you are in
possession, no matter how many half-chances you get at goal, if you can't get a second, this can
always happen.
You know it was meant to be when a guy (Kyote Odejayi) who hasn't scored in several months, heads
home the lone goal by outleaping Carlo Cudicini in the 66th minute. Did anyone else enjoy
Cudicini's 360 degree flail after he realized Odejayi was going to beat him to the ball? Perfect
ten. Barnsley still [.
Three teams moving in the right direction up the Premier League table appear to be battling for the
same three British talents. All three are apparently keen on Wolves keeper Wayne Hennessey, valued
in the 3m bracket, who said of the attention: "At the end of the day I'm still at Wolves and I
love it here.
Upsets left right and centre in today's FA Cup action. But what was the biggest shock?Coventry
somehow managed to obliterate Blackburn 4-1, whilst League One Huddersfield beat Birmingham 2-1.
Special mention should also go to Sheffield United who booted out Bolton with a 1-0 win lowly and
injury ravaged Oldham, who beat Everton 1-0 at [.
Between captain Brian Howard and debut goalkeeper Luke Steele, I don't know who had the better
performance. Actually I do, Howard might have provided the near post drive that sunk Liverpool in
the 93rd minute but it was Steele who kept the Reds - somehow - from hitting the back of the net.
Crouch had numerous [.

As we mentioned over a week ago, Rohan Ricketts is on his way. This report has Ricketts released
from Barsnley and headed to Toronto, and we received word today that Ricketts is already in Buffalo
working on immigration paper work so that he may debut for Toronto FC's game away to Los Angeles
Sunday.
A record 731 teams set out for eternal glory in winning the 2007-2008 edition of the FA Cup and
after matches since August 18 of last year, we're down to the last four remaining clubs:
Portsmouth, Barnsley, West Bromwich Albion, and Cardiff City.
Bryan Robson conducted the draw for the semifinals this afternoon, with both matches to be played
at Wembley during the first weekend of April:

I don't think I need to explain to you what an upset this is, so I won't.
Liverpool should've won the game. It's that simple. They had more shots, more possession, more
chances, more everything. But they only scored one goal and as I've said countless times, the only
stat that matters in a team sport like soccer is goals scored.
The best way to defend is to attack as they say and under-fire Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is
applying that policy. He has been barraged left, right and centre with stinging criticims after the
Reds lost to Championship side Barnsley in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday but the former
Valencia coach [.
Minnows Barnsley continue their giants killing habit. They got the better of Premiership giants
Chelsea 1-0 in the last 8 of the FA Cup on Saturday at Oakwell. Barnsley had earlier beaten
Liverpool and now they have added Chelsea to their credit. Chelsea manager Avram Grant though
doesn't hesitate to admit that Barnsley deserved to win [.
DC United Tickle - My, oh my, but there seems to be Much Ado about Stratford. Measure for Measure
he seems to be making quite an impression on the United braintrust--enough to earn a spot in the
18-man squad traveling to the islands in the face of a Tempest of competition for places. After the
Comedy of Errors surrounding the Jacobson Affair, this Winter's Tale seems to have come to a
When your club is linked with a Brazilian, you're bound to hope that it is with a midfielder or a
striker, such is that country's tradition. Learning that the player involved is a goalkeeper is
therefore always likely to be a disappointment. The likes of Julio Cesar (Inter) Heurelio Gomez
(PSV / Tottenham) and Doni (Roma) may have made their mark as excellent goalkeepers but the bias
remains.
Once again an important Liverpool game is in danger of being overshadowed by an off-field saga.
This unfortunately is becoming an all too frequent trend for the Merseyside giants. The latest
episode is another apparent conflict between owners and manager, this time over the funding of the
proposed Gareth Barry move.

The Sun - QPR 0 Derby C 2From PAUL JIGGINS at Loftus Road
AN off-peak return rail ticket from Derby to London: £59.
A seat in the visitors' enclosure at Loftus Road (if QPR had their way): £40.
Seeing your team win their first away game for 18 months: Absolutely blooming priceless!
Barnsley's 25-year-old striker Iain Hume suffered a fractured skull and life-threatening internal
bleeding after taking an elbow to the head from Sheffield United's Chris Morgan during the clubs'
derby match on Saturday. (This was a nasty, nasty game in which punches were thrown, players were
dismissed, and coins were thrown from the stands.
Southend United will face Barnsley in a repeat of last year's FA Cup tie - which the Blues drew
1-1 in the third round, before going on to beat the Yorkshire side in a
replay 2-0.
This time it's the fourth round - with a place in the last 16 up for grabs.
Jamal Campbell-Ryce came back to Roots Hall to haunt Southend as the Blues faltered in the fourth
round of the FA Cup.
I didn't go but there are lots of reports online here and
here.
Meantime Southend signed Spurs forward Lee Barnard on Friday, while Garry Richards left the Blues
for Gillingham.
Despite Everton manager David Moyes' declarations that he didn't expect to have a busy transfer
deadline day, the Toffees actually had quite a lot of transfer activity, moving two players out and
bringing one in on loan. Veteran defender Alan Stubbs was shipped off to Derby County, Brazilian
midfielder Anderson made a [.
Liverpool are swaying from one crisis to another. The Reds are already out of the Premiership title
race this season and now they are out of the FA Cup as well. Little Barnsley saw off the former
European champions 2-1 in the fifth round on Saturday and Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is left
to rue [.
Seven out of the eight FA Cup 5th Round ties were settled this weekend, with only the
Middlesbrough-Sheffield United pairing in need of a replay. That match will come at the Riverside
on the 26th, but both teams will be in the hat for tomorrow's quarterfinal draw.
Two surprise teams will be joining the aforementioned sides and the other five winners in that
draw.
Saw this over on Steve Goff's wonderful Soccer Insider blog. I know it's several days old now, but
still, this reaction is beyond great, from Barnsley's 2-1 win at Anfield last weekend.
And for those of you who are Liverpool fans, fear not, here you go (Playtherapy, this is for the K
boy.
Arsenal's two title rivals were both beaten in the FA Cup today in what turned out to be a shocking
day of results.
Manchester United, who sit one point behind Arsenal in the Premier League, fell to Portsmouth after
losing both of their goalkeepers. Edwin van der Sar was substituted out with an injury after
halftime and his replacement, Tomasz Kuszczak was sent off after bringing down Milan Baros in the
box.
There's never been any love lost between Cardiff and Swansea, two of the three Welsh clubs in the
Football League. Indeed, ex-Swan Lee Trundle received a pretty hostile reception when he recently
visited Ninian Park with new club Bristol City. He won't be forgetting that in a hurry! The Times
reports that this rivalry has [.

QPR Official Site - STAN TALKS UP R'S CHANCES
QPR legend Stan Bowles believes the R's have a 'good chance' of promotion this season.
Speaking at a Sportsman's Dinner at Stevenage Borough Football Club on Monday night, the 59
year-old - who made 315 appearances for the R's, scoring 96 goals - said: "Rangers have got a
good chance this season.
The latest Reds Report courtesy of Dearne FM Download Pod Cast Here Dedicated to Barnsley FC and
it's fans. Documenting the ramblings of a Barnsley season ticket holder - On the Ponty End.
"When you know which side of your bread's buttered".
Firstly it's been a bad week if your team has been beaten.
Secondly, David Norris of Ipswich Town for his 'handcuff' celebration after he scored
against Blackpool.
Thirdly, Chris Morgan's elbow on Barnsley's Ian Hume which left Hume with a fractured
skull.
Hume deserves better protection Your Honour, it was always pretty soul destroying to see your team
take a heavy loss and having to head in to school the following Monday to face the taunts of your
peers. When it was England going out of a major tournament, however, the collective sense of loss
was evident the moment you crossed the threshold into your first classroom.
If you took every professional team in English football and compiled an all-time league table that
calculated the number of points the clubs have earned since their existence, which teams would be
at the top? You may be surprised by the findings: Manchester United, 5559 points Liverpool, 5513
Arsenal, 5346 Wolverhampton Wanderers, 5137 Preston North End, 5105 Aston Villa, 5005 Sheffield
United, [.
