Up next for Stevenage is the visit of Crewe Alexandra, who have endured a mixed start to their season. After the disappointment of 2 defeats from their opening 2 league games, the Railwaymen returned the following week to smash Barnet for 7! I caught up with the editor from the Vital Crewe site to talk about Crewe's aims for the new season, who their "star" player is plus an insight into what to expect from League 2.

Stevenage's first month in League 2 has been pretty mixed, but overall I think it's safe to say that we are going in the right direction. The opening day draw with Macclesfield was a bit of an anti-climax after all the hype, but Boro have responded with some good performances that see them sitting comfortably in 10th place.

I caught the second half of the Denmark Iceland game... Thomas Kahlenberg fired in a late winner via a deflection in stoppage time to send Danish fans into raptures, in much off the game Denmark played with alot of the ball but didn't really look like breaking down the Iceland mean defence.

Stevenage visit Cheltenham Town this weekend. The Robins, now managed by former Kidderminster boss Mark Yates, will be looking forward to getting back to winning ways after a disappointing defeat against Barnet last weekend. I've caught up with Mark from the Robins Nest Forum to have a talk about Cheltenham's aims for the new season, what they remember from their days in the Conference plus their thoughts on former Boro star Barry Hayles.

Rio Ferdinand and Robbie Savage have been having a very public row on Twitter, which culminated with this from Rio:

"I think you're taking your bitterness with getting released by Man Utd out on me. Are you ok?? Still hurting?!"

Earlier on, Savage mocked Rio for getting done by Craig Bellamy in the derby at Old Trafford last season, claiming he was too slow.

It's been quite a while since we crossed paths with the Robins. Cheltenham spent two years in the Conference in the late 90′s, but didn't wait around long before winning promotion to the Football League in 1999. Under the stewardship of young manager Steve Cotterill, Cheltenham finished 2nd in their first season in the Conference before storming to the title the following year, pipping Brian Talbot's Rushden side.

Few players can be as inxtricably linked with a club's glory days than Anwar Uddin and Dagenham and Redbridge. Uddin joined the Daggers in 2004 and made 187 appearances as the Daggers transformed themselves from non-league powerhouse to League One upstarts in the space of little more than half a decade.
