Should Walcott forget about being a striker for Arsenal?

Just Arsenal at related • 2 views
After Theo Walcott enjoyed his best ever season with Arsenal last time around, expectations were high that he would carry on in the same vein and perhaps do even better this year. Well it hasn't really happened for the 24-year old forward so far this season, for club or country, and he is starting to [.

Brighton v Arsenal: The Best Pictures and Goals from The AMEX

SWOL at related • 3 views

Brighton hosted Arsenal at the AMEX on Saturday afternoon with a berth in the 5th of the FA Cup as the prize. Though the London side failed to start brightly, they were the first to get on the board after Olivier Giroud curled his left-footed shot into the top corner after combining with Lukas Podolski.

Brighton vs. Arsenal Review Gunners Goals secure the win

With no Jack Wilshere on the pitch, Olivier Giroud took up the mantle pf pressing Brighton, chasing down defenders from the first minute. The midfield and defence seemed to give the Brighton players too much space. Santos seemed to have no intention of tackling unless he had to.

Diaby made a great run early on and Giroud did well to get on the pass and link up with Chamberlain who produced a good cross.

Post-Game Hangover: Reflections on Crew @ Revs (again)

The Bent Musket at related • 0 views

A comprehensive, 90-minute performance was just what the doctor ordered for the ailing Revolution, and that's just what went down on Wednesday night against the Columbus Crew. For the first time in a long time (if at all) this season, Jay Heaps' squad not only limited the petty mistakes that have cost them so many points this year, but they also pressed high, played physical, and controlled the tempo.

Draw Something: Philadelphia Union 0, New England Revolution 0

Brotherly Game at related • 0 views

The Philadelphia Union entered this game having not picked up a win in five games. The New England Revolution entered this game having not picked up a win in nine games. It felt like something had to give tonight in Foxboro. Only it didn't, and both teams' winless streak continued.

In the first half, the Philadelphia Union played a strong possession game, and while they succeeded in limiting New England Revolution to chances, the Union did little to generate chances themselves.

Post-Game Hangover: Reflections on TFC @ Revs

"The game never caught rhythm," Jay Heaps said post-game. "It was shameful to be honest with you."

I don't think anyone can argue with coach Heaps on that one--the rhythm was really never there for the Revs. And it seems to all tie back to the 2nd minute injury to Stephen McCarthy.

Post-Game Hangover: Reflections on Rapids @ Revs

The Bent Musket at related • 1 view

It wasn't pretty, but the Revs pulled it off. Three points against the Colorado Rapids, hot damn! I'll take it! It seems clear to me that the fans weren't the only ones angry about the result against the Red Bulls. Wednesday night, the Revolution took the pitch with their game faces on, and they stayed on for 90 minutes.

Union Reserves Open Up Season With Strong Win Against New England

The Union reserve team opened up their season yesterday morning against the New England Revolution's reserve squad with a 4-2 victory. With the sun beating down on the Chester Field pitch and the wind gusting, the Union reserves played a strong 90 minutes. Due to the Union's bye week, some players who may not have normally played with the reserve team, like Josue Martinez and Roger Torres, got a chance to get some good minutes in during the match.

Two months after he was taken by the Revolution in the first stage of the Re-entry Draft, it appears that left back Danleigh Borman won't be in Foxboro in 2012.

According to a report, the 27-year-old is close to returning to his native South Africa to play for Pretoria-based SuperSport United.

The Revolution used its second overall pick to select former University of Rhode Island midfielder Danleigh Borman from Toronto during Stage 1 of today's Re-entry Draft. Since Borman is out of contract, the league will extend a Bona Fide offer to him to play for the Revolution.

Borman played in 21 games for the Reds and recorded three assists in 2011.
