I am a difficult person to buy things for at Christmas. And to make matters worse my birthday
is just 12 days later. But this year I had a few nice surprises, one of which was a selection of
England programmes from yesteryear. So let me take you back to October 1979 for England's
European Championships qualifier against Denmark at Wembley, and what everyone was talking
about.
Good day to you all. I hope you're well and enjoying the running water that living in the modern
world affords you. No such luxuries here as Dublin, the rainiest city in the history of the world,
has run out. Stupid idiots.
We'll start with Arsene and his pre-match interview which is normally published on the official
website on a Friday went up a bit early so I watched it last night.

"I heard you only managed four mate? Shame!"
After yet another match-winning performance against Hull City on Saturday, Wayne
Rooney is now set to become the highest paid player at Manchester United. The club are
keen to reflect Rooney's continually growing influence at Old Trafford by offering the 24 year
old striker a bumper contract to match.
This is so far:Robbie Fowler 2nd with over $500 even though he didn't even wear it!
Adriano Pellegrino has $415 way ahead of some much higher paid players. Some surprisingly low bids
for some shirts and some surprises.
Gold Coast looks very cheap (even for their shirts)If Charlie Miller had stayed Roar he would be
attracting more than $120.
