This was deleted by BigSoccer almost immediately, so I have reposted it on Pies...
Breaking-up news! I just got an email from BigSoccer founder Jesse Hertzberg,
the man who was good enough to give me a platform on BigSoc (I posted there as well as on Pies and
a couple other places).
Park Ji-Sung joined Manchester United for a bargain £4m when he was 24-years-old.
Now as one of the more experienced lads in the squad and a reputation as a big-game player,
scoring goals against Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan this season, Park has confessed he hopes to
see out the rest of his career at United.
The best things in life are free... apart from for Wayne Rooney OTP loves this quote from Roy
Hodgson: "Free transfers don't necessarily mean that you have got a bargain. My experience of them
has been very mixed." Although it would be churlish to discuss exactly who Woy is referring to, Joe
Cole and Milan [.
6′4″ defender Mike Williamson came back into the side against Nottingham Forest on Monday
night, and as expected, slotted straight back into the back-line, and had yet another very good
game for Newcastle United. Mike Williamson looks terrific buy for Newcastle This lad looks a

Valencia's attacking midfielder David Silva is a naturally gifted attacking midfielder who is
perennially linked with a move away from the Mestalla, along with his fellow teammates David Silva
and Juan Mata, and its easy to see why so many of Europe's elite would like to snap up the 24 year
old Spanish international.
Rumours are circulating today that Joe Cole is about to sign a three year contract to join
Arsenal.
I must admit, I never thought that Arsenal would be able to afford Joe's wages after his supposed
wage demands at Chelsea (£120K per week).
If the rumour is true then Arsene Wenger has got a bargain and let's face it would suit Arsenal's
style of play.

My first two attempts at predicting the score lines in the Premier league haven't been too
successful but I shall endeavor to do just a little bit better this week. With an international
break coming up after this week's games my predictions won't be back until two weeks from now. Here
we go with this week's predictions and don't forget that if you want to win some money then back
the teams I'm picking to lose.

Allow Pies to sum up Barcelona's 5-0 tanking of Real Sociedad at the weekend in concise, 'video
essay' format.
A goal apiece from David Villa, Andres Iniesta and
Bojan Krkic coupled with a pair of intricate pearlers from Leo
Messi ensured that Barca's day contained several elements of 'the sublime' .
Mike Williamson looks a great old fashioned 6′4″ center-back at Newcastle and seems a bargain
buy by Chris Hiughton and the Newcastle club. Mike Williamson great acquisition for Newcastle And
Kevin Nolan has today said how impressed he is with the central defender, the new addition to our
already solid defense, and Mike is a no-nonsense center [.

Aston Villa midfielder James Milner is ready to reject a move to either Manchester United or
Manchester City, after reportedly telling a close friend he wants to join Liverpool, according to
the News of The World.
Villa rejected City's advances earlier this week, after the Citizens tabled an offer of £20
million, with manager Martin O'Neill keen to hold on to the reigning PFA Young Player of the Year.

England have announced their squad
numbers for the World Cup and nacho-lover Peter Crouch has been handed the # 9 jersey.
Crouch now instantly becomes a fantasy option across all World Cup games - if you believe (like I
do) that the handing over of the symbolic # 9 jersey translates into a position alongside Wayne
Rooney in England's starting lineup.

The rumour is hot in Italy, so hot that it has not gone away even after the players transfer period
window shut last Wednesday the 1st of September. Did INTER MILAN really offer SAMUEL ETO´O to REAL
MADRID? It's the talk of the "Calcio", gossip that has reached Spanish media who are now analyzing
if true & if Real Madrid missed a bargain.
Link to SoccerNet consolidated injury reports Jeremy has already posted some of the key
injury-related news this morning. The biggest news is that Chelsea's midfield continues to be at
less than full strength with the continued absences of Lampard and Ramires which means that Zhirkov
should start and be an excellent bargain.
Mike Williamson is so far having an excellent season for Newcastle in the Premier League, and
this lad seems to continue to improve as he gets more experience in the Premier League. Mike
Williamson down but not out against Sunderland on Sunday At £1M from Portsmouth, Mike's got to be
one of the bargain [.
Here we go with another installment of our Funny Feeling Friday. You can't really beat last week's

It has been confirmed Liverpool paid a £5 million signing on fee to sign Joe Cole on a free
transfer during the summer, a big percentage of which went to his agent.
And this is in addition to his reported £90,000 wages. Fans have not yet seen the best of the
England international but he could be a bargain if he hits top form.
I am a difficult person to buy things for at Christmas. And to make matters worse my birthday
is just 12 days later. But this year I had a few nice surprises, one of which was a selection of
England programmes from yesteryear. So let me take you back to October 1979 for England's
European Championships qualifier against Denmark at Wembley, and what everyone was talking
about.
Good day to you all. I hope you're well and enjoying the running water that living in the modern
world affords you. No such luxuries here as Dublin, the rainiest city in the history of the world,
has run out. Stupid idiots.
We'll start with Arsene and his pre-match interview which is normally published on the official
website on a Friday went up a bit early so I watched it last night.

"I heard you only managed four mate? Shame!"
After yet another match-winning performance against Hull City on Saturday, Wayne
Rooney is now set to become the highest paid player at Manchester United. The club are
keen to reflect Rooney's continually growing influence at Old Trafford by offering the 24 year
old striker a bumper contract to match.
This is so far:Robbie Fowler 2nd with over $500 even though he didn't even wear it!
Adriano Pellegrino has $415 way ahead of some much higher paid players. Some surprisingly low bids
for some shirts and some surprises.
Gold Coast looks very cheap (even for their shirts)If Charlie Miller had stayed Roar he would be
attracting more than $120.
Turin based newspaper Tuttosport reports today that if Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez moves to
Juventus in the summer, he will try and sign Dirk Kuyt, Martin Skrtel and Ryan Babel for "The Old
Lady."
Reports this morning suggest that officials from Juventus are set to travel to Liverpool tomorrow
to discuss the future of Rafa Benitez.

Chris Hughton takes his side into a crucial league game tonight against Cardiff City. Chris Hughton

Newcastle have brought in two center-backs in January, and both players look more than decent.
Fabricio Coloccini shown dedication to Newcastle United We bought Portsmouth's Mike Williamson for
around £1M, and the player looks a bargain at that price. We also brought in QPR's Fitz Hall, on
loan through the end of the season.
Since 25 year-old Wayne Routledge arrived on Tyneside last month, Newcastle have looked a much
better attacking side, at least at home. Wayne Routledge added some creativity and speed on right
wing The £1.5M bargain signing from QPR has allowed the side to play like Newcastle teams of the
past, where we have two out and [.
Mike Williamson was signed for Newcastle for just £1M in January, and he is already looking a
great bargain for the Tyneside club. Mike Williamson a bargain for Newcastle Before arriving at

Hi
After much umming and arring I'm going to run a second print run of the now out of print Great
Escape Fulham Review.
The trick here is that it's going to be a bit more expensive, as I'm not going to run off 3/400
of them (20/30 more likely). So to cover this I'm going to ask for £10 a copy.
Not only has Mike Williamson put in some terrific performances already since he joined the Magpies
in January, but he is quickly becoming a leader at the club. Mike Williamson becoming a leader on
Tyneside And to think we paid just £1M for this lad from Portsmouth another bargain for the
Tyneside club.
Like a craggily-bearded convict using the walls of his cell to chalk off the days until freedom,
it is with growing excitement that I desecrate the walls of AANP Towers with scribbles signifying
another game played, and another win recorded. Nine games to go, and our heroes are fulfilling
their side of the bargain.
Peter Lovenkrands didn't have a very good start to the season and had only scored two goals by the
time the new year rolled along. Peter Lovenkands - in terrific form for Newcastle this year But
since then Peter has scored 12 goals in 11 games this year, and he looks such a bargain buy at

Liam and friends will have to wait until May to play twice in one fantasy game
week
This just in from Stoke's official website - the Fulham / Stoke match scheduled
for next week has been re-arranged for May 5th or 6th.
Not that big of a deal in "real" life - as both of these teams are safe - neither will be relegated
and neither will end up in the Europa League, so they are stuck in mid table mediocrity.
Now and then the good ol' trusty internet fails you. You go back to old habits switch on the
telly for updates, anxiously hoping that Arsenal are 25-0 up. Nothing less will make you content
let alone happy. We were a minute or so away from getting a fantastic win.
Only Aston Villa and Bolton have won at Birmingham this season and that was ages ago.

West Ham are looking to capture Portsmouth midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng this summer as the
south coast club looks set to lose many of their top earners this summer.
It's official! Liverpool have confirmed that Charlton's 18-year-old starlet Jonjo
Shelvey has passed a medical and agreed personal terms during a whirlwind visit to the
club's Melwood training complex this morning, and will sign on May 10th for an initial fee of £1.7
million.
Opening again mid-August 2010. But so much to say and do before then... (What, you thought we'd
just pack it in on holiday?) Good luck today. Lots of places to be decided yet. We'll want to hear
all about who you picked and where you ended up. Then, of course, there will be the cliched
'end-of-season' awards.

Come in number 29, your time is now...
I'm struck by how much young Marouane looks like... Cristiano Ronaldo. You see it?
This is where I'm obliged to say: "... And if he plays half as well as Ronaldo, Arsenal have got
a bargain."
I won't do that though.
So Joe Cole is set to sign for Arsenal. Well that is according to the Star newspaper anyway.
I'll be honest (if its true) this excites me. I've always rated Cole and thought that Chelsea got a
bargain when signing him for £6.6m back in 2003.
In my opinion Joe Cole is technically the most gifted player the England national team have and he
would be an asset for ANY side in the Premiership or even Europe.
