Finally, the Barclays English Premier League season is one week away! Before the season kicks off
officially, Manchester United and Chelsea will contest in the customary season opener known as the
Community Shield.Although the Community Shield rarely attracts much attention, this season is a lot
more different from other seasons.
And it starts this weekend! The 2009/10 Barclays English Premier League season is going to be an
incredible one. Why do I say that? There are two reasons for this. One, if either Manchester United
or Liverpool wins it, then that club will surge ahead as the leader in the titles won category.
Second, if Manchester United wins it, then they will be the first club to have won the league title
four times in a row.
The first day of a new season in football is always special. You get to see your favorite team in
action after a break, there are a few new faces that you see in the promoted teams and most
importantly, you are ensured for another thrilling and great season of football.Today, the title
holders Manchester United played hosts to Birmingham City at the Theatre of Dreams.
