Liverpool will make an official approach to sign Valencia forward, David Villa, according to the
Spanish press. Just a day after Villa revealed to the Spanish television that he'll not leave Spain
at the moment.
"A week ago my future was clear and now it's not.,"
"I've been through some tough moments, which are partly my own fault, but I decided to put it
all aside and I've not thought about it in the last five days.

No one wants to play with me. Sniff
Chelsea's billionaire owner, Roman Abramovich, has just bought a £288m yacht, with built-in
missile defence system. He could have got almost four Cristiano Ronaldos for that. About
that...
I wouldn't be surprised if Roman bought the yacht to cheer himself up, because he must feel like
every star player he wants to bring to Chelsea rejects him.
The two biggest clubs in La Liga met on Sunday, November 29, 2009 as FC Barcelona hosted Real
Madrid. Who was able to win the El Clasico? Here's a recap of the match along with video
highlights.
FC Barcelona beats Real Madrid 1-0 Video Highlights
Both teams had chances in the first half but neither would score as it would stay scoreless
through 45 minutes.
Arsenal announced their first summer signing, unveiling Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen (23)
as heir apparent to, well, probably Sol Campbell.
He is the first Belgian to play for Arsenal (I think) which I interpret as more evidence in
support of one of my more bizarre beliefs; Belgium could become one of the best teams around within
the next 5-10 years.

FC Barcelona look to be the front runners in the pursuit for Valencia striker David Villa. This
week Villa addressed the media narrowing down his possibilities for a move. There were rumors that
Manchester United and Chelsea were a possibility for the Spaniard.
The 2009-10 La Liga season is nearly upon us and we here at Mad About Futbol will breakdown the
chances and player movement of all 20 teams in Spain's 1st division for the 2009-10 season. This
time we will breakdown Real Club Deportivo Mallorca.
LAST SEASON (2008-09):
The team from the Islas Baleares looked like a team headed for relegation but Ensaimada Mecánica
turned it around in the 2nd half of the season.
In an exclusive interview for the Guardian, Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak
criticized Michel Platini's planned control of football club expenditure. He has a point.
Platini wants new financial rules by 2012. Under those guidelines, Clubs would spend within
their soccer-generated income.
United have once again been linked with January moves for Valencia's star men, David Villa and
David Silva. The future of both Spanish Internationals was the focus of much media attention over
the summer with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool keeping tabs on the situation to name but a
few.
Valencia managed to hold on to their prized assets in the summer but as their financial troubles
show no sign of letting up, it looks increasingly likely they will lose one if not both in the
winter.
The biggest news in club action this past week has to be the championships won in South America.
At midweek, Brazil's Fluminense defeated Ecuador's LDU Quito 3-0 but it wasn't enough to keep LDU
Quito from winning the final 5-4 in aggregate and take home the 2009 Copa Sudamericana. Over the
weekend, the top domestic league in the Western Hemisphere, the Brasileirao Serie A, concluded with
Flamengo dethroning Sao Paolo as the champions following a 2-1 victory over Gremio.
According to a report in the British broadsheet The Times, Ryan Babel and Andrea Dossena could be
heading for the exit doors at Liverpool at the end of the season.
Netherlands international winger Babel recently suggested that he may look elsewhere for regular
first-team football after admitting to becoming frustrated at frequently being names on the bench.
Dynamo Kiev v. Shakhtar Donetsk
UEFA Cup Semifinal Preview
First Leg: Thursday, April 30, 2009 - Valeri Lobanovski Stadium, Kiev, Ukraine
Second Leg: Thursday, May 7, 2009 - RSK Olympyiskyi, Donetsk, Ukraine.
To Ukrainians, the rivalry between Dynamo Kiev and Shakhtar Donetsk is like Barcelona/Real
Madrid, Rangers/Celtic, Galatasaray/Fenerbache, or Manchester United/Liverpool.
This year's Champions League semifinals have a familiar look to them - after all, three of these
teams also featured in the English FA Cup semifinals earlier this month and two of these teams are
appearing in the Champions League semifinals for the third consecutive time, Arsenal for the second
time and Barcelona for the third time in four years.
There's no question about what the match of the weekend will be this week. With a victory over
Barcelona, Real Madrid can move within one point of the Primera Division lead. Given that a few
months ago, Barcelona had a twelve-point La Liga lead, this could be one more step in a historic
comeback.
Here's a look at some of the movers and shakers in the various leagues across Europe. I tried to
copy this all from ESPN, let me know if something's off.

The Milan Derby wasn't much of a contest on Saturday as Inter Milan shredded AC Milan's defense
in a first-half display of dominance that has Inter talking another Scudetto and AC Milan fans
wondering if their team is just too old.
Inter's 4-0 win, driven by beautiful goals by Thiago Motta and Maicon, will serve notice that
Jose Mourinho's men are ready to be a serious challenger to the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid,
Chelsea and Manchester United for the European title.
It seemed strangely correct to somehow correct the the injustice Ronaldo may have served upon
himself by way of excessive eating by showing you a compilation displaying the immense talent the
former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan striker did possess.

The shock transfer ban recently imposed on Chelsea for their "inducing" of young French player
Gael Kakuta has again raised the argument of English clubs scouting for and developing too many
foreign players within their youth systems. Why?
It's a simple numbers game.
Football is a global sport, so it would make very little sense for a club to ignore the wealth
of upcoming talent outside of their own back yard.
With the UEFA Champions League season set to kick off this afternoon, it is time to start
thinking about who everybody sees lifting the trophy in May.
Will it be Barcelona in a repeat? Will Manchester United rebound from last year's final loss to
win a second title in three seasons?
Sunday's match between Manchester United and Liverpool has all the ingredients
for an October classic: Fernando Torres v Nemanja Vidic. Antonio
Valencia v Glen Johnson. Alex Ferguson v Rafa Benitez. All of it
being played against the backdrop that one more loss for Liverpool would mean curtains on
their title aspirations.
Goals and video highlights from the Sporting Gijon vs Real Madrid La Liga game on Saturday, October

Madrid, Inter – Milan o Glasgow – Celtic.
David Villa wins the award for best X-mas this La Liga season because he is looking to have a
very bright future no matter where that might be. I talk about it a lot and I think it is one of
the most important La Liga stories that will unfold over the next few transfer windows, but is
Valencia going to go the route of a fire sale or will the top four squad find a way to maintain
their current roster and competitive level?
Diego Forlan's agent believes the European Golden Boot winner will remain at Atletico
Madrid.
The former Manchester United striker scored 32 goals for Atletico last season to earn them a
spot in the Champions League but has been linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderon.
Reports suggest Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City are interested in Forlan but Daniel
Bolotnikoff insists he has had no offers for his client.
While Liverpool were busy hammering out a contract with new sponsor Standard Chartered Bank,
Park Si-Jung was busy wrapping up the finer points of his contract with Manchester United.
Park for United
Guess who's staying with Manchester United? It's Park Ji-Sung!
Going into this season many football critics debated which league was the strongest in the
world. Is it the Premier League or La Liga? The Premier League is usually considered the best
by fans of the game regarding the even play of the entire league, but with the additions that Real
Madrid and Barcelona have acquired over the last off-season it looks like La Liga could have the
two best clubs in all of the world.
Spanish football club Valencia have recently admitted that they still have some serious
financial problems. Valencia's star player David Villa has sacked his agent Luis Tamargo,
after he failed to secure him a move away from the club.
Man United, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool have all been linked with a move for the
player.
Real Madrid-Getafe
What is going on with Real Madrid? With three losses in their last five matches I guess they
really do miss this Cristiano Ronaldo guy. Real will look to bounce back from their terrible loss
earlier in the week to a squad I have never heard of, Alcorcon, but if Real Madrid continues to
play like they did against this third tier squad then it could feel a lot longer then a few weeks
without their key star player.
Avrupalılar bunu düşünmüşler miydi bilmiyorum ama sağolsunlar Bayram hediyesi gibi fikstür
çekmişler. Bu kadar derbinin üst üste geldiği bir hafta bu oyunu seven herkes için en güzel
hafta sonu demektir. Barcelona-Real Madrid maçında taraf tutmadığım için kim atarsa fark
etmez ama sayıcı çok gol olsun istiyorum.
Christmas is still a month a way, but it will feel like Christmas to soccer fans today as they
get treated to a loaded schedule of top matches, including the highly-anticipated Barcelona-Real
Madrid showdown.
Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka will will take part in their first editions of 'El
Clasico', as will Barcelona's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Spanish giants make concerted push for mercurial midfielder.

Last night Valencia outplayed Real Madrid in Mestalla, and won 3-0 on goals by Mata, Silva and
Baraja (a gorgeous strike). It is true that after losing 2-6 at home to Barcelona, Real Madrid has
little to play for, but that doesn't make Valencia's victory less important! With three matches
left of the league, Valencia is positioning itself for a Champions League spot, and even putting
