Liverpool legend Ian Rush has voiced the sentiment of millions of Reds fans worldwide by saying
that he would love to team see Spain's exhilarating strike-tandem of David Villa and Fernando
Torres team up at Anfield next year.
Although the Merseyside outfit have recently denied any interest in the white-hot Valencia striker,
Rush is convinced that the 26-year-old would be a great addition, even though he would surely cost
the club an arm and a leg.
Being a Valencia fan isn't easy.
We've all known that for some time now, since the good ol' days when QQ Sanchez
Flores and Amedeo Carboni feuded over everything from transfers to who'd
sit next to Juan Soler at official dinners.
But those days of yore seem far away, what with the comings and goings at the club this past
year.
Poor Sporting de Gijón. Ten years out of the top division and on your return you have to face
Sevilla, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Villareal one after the other in your first five weeks. On
Sunday, Barcelona put 6 past them and on Wednesday night Real Madrid went one better, making them
the worst defensive side in La Liga in over 50 years.
Final 16 Match-ups
The three Italian clubs were all paired against English competition. Jose Mourinho will renew his
rivalry with Sir Alex Ferguson as Inter Milan were drawn against the reigning champions Man United.
It will also be a homecoming for Claudio Ranieri. The former Chelsea manager will return to
Stamford Bridge with his Juventus side.
