A brilliant counter attacking goal at the very end of the first half is standing strong between
Barcelona and the Champions League final in Munich after Chelsea secured a 1-0 victory at Stamford
Bridge tonight. It was kind of a harsh and unlucky night with players wasting gilt edged chances,
hitting the post on a couple of occasion and on all other occasion the Chelsea defense standing
strong.
FC Barcelona firmly placed their right foot in the next round of Copa del Rey with a 4-0 victroy
against Osasuna at the Camp Nou. Now unless a seriously bad loss happens in the return leg, we will
be firm favorite to face either Malaga or Real madrid in next round. A frist half brace from cesc
Fabregas put Barca on course for a easy victory.
FC Barcelona dropped two precious points in their pursuit of league leaders Real Madrid with a
disappointing 1-1 draw against Espanyol. In teh 200-07 season, it was against Espanyol we lost the
league title. There is still 21 games to be played yet, but maybe at the ned of the season we would
be considering this match as a turning point.
FC Barcelona continued with their winning streak at home in La Liga with a very hard fought 4-2
victory against an inspired Real betis side. The match started very brightly for us going 2-0 up
within 12 minute, then turned into a nightmare when Real Betis equalised early into second
half.
It has become something like a routine for this team - to go to the home of their arch-rivals
and win in the most difficult circumstances. Guardiola's men has launched up many style of
victroies over here - this one was also a bit different from teh other one. In this edition they
decided to concede a lead at half time and then turned it completely over.
Lionel Messi scored his first away hat-trick of the season to give Barca a comfortable 4-1
victory over Malaga. The match wasn't as comfortable as the score-line suggest. In the first half
Malaga had some serious chances and ended as 1-0. Rondon scored the consolation goal for
Malaga.
FC Barcelona secured a semi-final birth in this season's Copa Del Rey after knocking out holders
Real Madrid with a sensational 2-2 draw. Barcelona who went into the break with a 2-0 lead had to
hold off a sensational fightback from Mourinho's boys to secure the semi-final birth. To an extent
we had to say that we were lucky after putting up the worst defensive display of the season, and
courtesy of the fact that Madrid missed a number of chances.
FC Barcelona could have handed over the Liga title to Real Madrid unofficially after drawing
away at 17th placed Villareal. The lead at the top of the summit is seven points which could be too
much for our boys to climb. Already with a very depleted side, we weren't helped by Guardiola's
decision making all night.
FC Barcelona took a good step towards proceeding to Copa Del Rey final with a 1-1 draw at
Mestella. Considering how tough we have found recently in Valencia, this draw is as good as a win -
especially because of the away goal. In the 27th minute Jonas put Valencia ahead, but Carles Puyol
equalised for Barca in the 36th minute.
FC Barcelona booked their place in the Copa Del Rey final with a 2-0 victory against Valencia at
Camp Nou. Goals from Cesc Fabregas and Xavi gave Barca a bit of nervous victory. Now the final will
be against Atletic Bilbao, between the two most successful teams in the Copa Del Rey history.
FC Barcelona would belooking at a huge 10 point deficit with League leaders Real Madrid by the
end of tomorrow night after going down 3-2 against osasuna. If the Villareal draw had put a huge
blow to Barca's title hopes, then this defat at Pamplona virtually ends the league hopes. If Real
madrid win against Levante at home tomorrow, the lead at the top will climb to a huge 10
points.
FC Barcelona has virtually assured themselves off a Quarter Final birth in this Season's
Champions League competition with a 3-1 away victory against Bayern Leverkusen. This is the first
time Guardiola has managed to win an away leg of the last 16 knock out stage in Champions League.
Two goals from Sanchez and one from Messi was enough for Barca to see the German side off at their
home.
FC Barcelona cut the lead at the top back to ten points with a brilliant 5-1 win against
Valencia. Unai Emery's side has always made Barca struggle, but this was completely different. Even
though it didn't start well conceding a goal early, but after that it was total domination. We had
27 shots off 13 were at goal.
FC Barcelona managed to reduce the lead on top of the table to seven points with a brilliant 3-1
victory against Sporting Gijon. For a Barca fan it was a memorable victory as we had to play the
entire second half with ten man following Pique's expilsion. Iniesta gave us the lead in the first
half, Gijon equalised after Pique's send off but Keita restored the lead with a magical goal and
Xavi completed the scoreline.
FC Barcelona simply blew off Leverkusen at a brilliant night at the Camp Nou. The 7-1 victory
has to be a stern message to all our challengers in Europe this season. With a 3-1 away lead we
were almost there in the quarter final. But following last night's Arsenal's comeback against
Milan, there were some nerves.
FC Bracelona made short work of a physical Racing Santander side with a comfortable 2-0 victory
at the El Sardinero stadium. Two goals from Lionel Messi, the second coming from a penalty was
enough to help Barca fetch all three points and reduce the lead on top to ten points. With a 72%
possession statistics this game was as comfortable as it can get, barring the constant kicking and
hacking down our players have to go through.
FC Barcelona notched up five consecutive victory in the league for the first time in the 2011-12
season with a 2-0 victory at Sevilla. First half goals from Xavi Hernandez and Lionel Messi, which
may go down as one of the contender of "Goal of the Season" were enough to see a tricky fixture
with against a side we always struggle.
FC Barcelona cut the lead on the top of the league to five points with a rather scrappy 5-3 win.
Real madrid will have a chance to extend the lead, but for the time being we are five points below
them. A hat-trick from Lionel Messi and one each from Xavi and Tello gave us a a deserving
victory.
FC Barcelona cut down the lead at the top of the table to three points with a very hard working
2-0 victory against Real Mallorca. A brilliant free kick Messi and another goal from Pique was
enough to see off the Mallorca challenge. It was a very tough match - having to play on a horribly
dry pitch and also to have play with ten men for the last thrity five minutes after Thiago was sent
off.
FC Barcelona was held to a goal less draw at the San Siro stadium by AC Milan in the first leg
of Champions League Quarter Final. A brilliant defensive display from Milan, coupled with a
horrible pitch was good enough to negate any Barca threat. Arsene Wenger did complain about the
state of this pitch, but I never throught it was this bad.
FC Barcelona maintained their pressure on La Liga leaders with a brilliant 2-0 victory at home
against Atletic Bilbao. Iniesta opened the scoring in the first half and Messi secured the three
points when he calmy finished off a penalty in the second half. With Real Madrid winning at Osasuna,
we were nine points away from League Leaders.
FC Barcelona closed the lead at the top of the League to three points with a brilliant 4-1
victory against real zaragoza away from home. Once again, as it's been the trend in recent away
matches - we were made to play in another potato pitch. But it didn't matter as we won convincingly
by scoring 4 goals.
FC Barcelona has cut the lead at the top to a mere one point following their victory against
Getafe at Camp Nou tonight. Two goals from Sanchez, one each from Messi and Pedro gave Barca a
deserving 4-0 victory, more importantly all the three points. It was a totally dominating
performance and the 4-0 scoreline was a bit of understatement for the chances we created.
