FC Barcelona knocked out by Inter despite the victory. Aggregate Barca - 2, Inter - 3
FC Barcelona's dream came of defending their Champions League crown at the home of their rivals
came to an end after being knocked out byt Italian Champion Inter Milan. Inter Milan, who were
reduced to 10 men for almost an hour following the dismissal of Motta, held firm in defense.
FC Barcelona took a firm step towards retaining their La Liga crown with a comfortable 3-0 victory
over visiting Deportivo La Coruna side. First half goal from Bojan and two second half strikes from
Pedro and Toure helped Barca increase their lead on top to six points. Real Madrid who play tonight
could cut that lead back to three.
FC Barcelona has secured the safe passage to the second round of Champions League with a
brilliant 3-0 victory against Greek side Pananathanaikos. This one was a rare away victory for
Barca in Europe. I would say that this victory was brilliant than the 8-0 demolishing of Almeria.
Messi scored his 150th goal for Barca inbetween a brace by Pedro to secure Barca the top spot in
Group D.
FC Barcelona Humiliates Real Madrid with a Towering Display
Cristiano Ronaldo has to be the most disappointed man in the world tonight - he asked for eight,
we could only gave only five. They say Real Madrid has the best defensive record in La Liga, boy oh
boy they should have waited till this match.
For the second time in as much as visit, Villareal maged to take a point away from Nou Camp.
Villareal's away form has been very poor this season, but that didn't stop them drawing and almost
winnin g the match in the end. With this win Barca has moved clear of Real Madrid by three points,
but the Madrid based side can equal Barca in points if they manage to win tonight at Osasuna.
FC Barcelona surpirisingly lost the first leg of Copa Del Rey quarterfinals at home to an under
strength Sevilla side. FC Barcelona now face a near impossible task of winning the second leg away
from home with atleast two goals clear to proceed to the next game. Two matches into the new year,
Barca is still looking for their first win of the year.
A solitary goal victory was not good enough for Barca as the two home goals they conceded proved
crucial. Xavi's strike in the second half had given Barca a deserving lead, but some poor finishing
from strikers and some great goal keeping by Sevilla custodian Palop made sure that Barca never got
the all important second goal.
An excellent second half performance saw Barca extract revenge on Sevilla for the Copa Del Rey
dissappointment with a sublime 4-0 victory. Earlier on the night Real Madrid were defeated by
Athletic Bilbao and that means with this victory we have opened a lead of five points at the top.
Barca opened the account courtesy of an own goal by Escude, Pedro then doubled the lead and in the
last five minutes Messi grabbed two to complete the tally.
FC Barcelona has moved eight points clear on top with an emphatic 3-0 victory at Valladoid. Now the
pressure will be on Real Madrid to reduce the lead tonight. Valladoid did trouble Barca early on,
but two goals in the span of 90 seconds from Xavi and Alves in the first half made Barca's life
easy.
A solitary goal from Pedro helped Barca register another victory in the League and hold on to the
five point lead at the top. The scoreline might suggest an equal contest but in reality a rather
wasteful Barca side never managed the second goal they deserved. The 1-0 lead meant that the last
ten minutes had it share of uncertainity.
FC Barcelona - 6, Arsenal - 3 on AggregateFC Barcelona booked their place in this season's UEFA Champions League Semi-Final against Inter
Milan with a convincing 4-1 defeat of Arsenal at Camp Nou. Once again it was the night of the
"Little Magician" from Rosario - Lionel Messi, who scored all the four goals for Barca.
FC Barcelona moved back to the top of La Liga witha 4-1 win against Athletic Bilbao and will remain
there for atleast 24 hours. Bojan who started in place of Ibrahimovic, who got injured in warm-up
scored twice and Messi and Jeffren scored one each for Barca. Susaeta scored the consolation goal
for Athletic Bilbao.
A spectacular last twenty minutes performance by Arsenal inspired by Theo walcott saw Barca
relinquishing a healthy two goal lead and eventually drawing the game. Everyone thought that two
second half goals from Ibrahimovic were enough for Barca to seal the tie but late goals from
Walcott and Fabregas left the honours even at Emirates.
FC Barcelona moved to the top of the table with a hard fought 2-0 victory over Osasuna at the Camp
Nou. Second half goals from Ibrahmovic and Bojan Krkic was enough to see Barca through a very
tricky match. A very well organised Osasuna side made it very difficult for Barca and this match
definitely was a good test for the Barca side ahead of the Arsenal clash.
Barca vs Zaragoza Highlights
Lionel Messi struck another Hat-Trick in the League to give Barca a 4 - 2 victory at zaragoza. This
is Lionel Messi's second consecutive hat-trick in the league following his last week effort against
Valencia. FC Barcelona raced onto a 3-0 lead by the 78th minute , but Zaragoza pulled two back
through Colunga.
Barca Secures Yet Another Victory over Real Madrid
FC Barcelona returned with a win from Camp Nou for the second time in a row. Last season we saw
the 6-2 humilation of Madrid, but this time it was far from a humiliation but still a solid
performance. Some quarters of media will potray it still as a humiliation as FC Barcelona never had
to play at their best to beat this team in white, who were assembled at a cost of more that 250
million.
Inter Destroys Barca with with a spectacular performance
FC Barcelona's dream of defending their Champions League crown at Bernabeu is in great danger
after they came a cropper against a very determined Inter side. Pedro gave Barca an undeserving
lead in the 19th minute but Wesley Sneigder, Maico and Milito all scored to register a comfortabale
victory for Inter.
FC Barcelona vs Xerez Highlights
FC Barcelona got back to winning ways with a nervous 3 - 1 win over bottom placed Xerez. It was not
all comfortable aw was expected, Xerez did cause some nervous moments for our defense. In the end
we took most of our chances, while they didn't and that showed in the scoreline.
Can't believe I missed two of the most entertaining match in this season's La Liga chase. With Real
Madrid on their tail, FC Barcelona has registered consecutive league victories against Villareal
and Tenerife. The margin of both the victories are the same with Barca managing to find the net on
four occasion in each match.
Barca beat Sevilla in a nervy encounter.
It may not be arrogance to say that we have one hand firmly placed on the La Liga title
following our 3-2 victory against Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium. At the end of penultimate
week of La Liga, Barca stands one point clear of their bitter rival Real Madrid.
In one of the most nail-biting finish to the season, FC Barcelona were crowned La Liga Champions
2009-10 season after beating Real Valladoid 4-0. Meanwhile Real Madrid, who gave Barca a tough
fight till the end could only manage an away draw against Malaga. An own goal from Prieto, followed
by a second from Pedro and a brace from Lionel Messi secured Barca their second consecutive League
title.
It was great to see Barca making a winning start to a new season. Maybe it became much more
sweeter with Real Madrid dropping two points on the opening week. Two points lead at this stage is
not much but it may help in increasing the pressure on Real Madrid and their much celebrated new
coach.
Newly promoted Hercules made a mockery of the attacking talent Barca possessed by dominating a
match and winning it quite comfortably. This was suppposed to be a cake walk and I myself predicted
a 5-0 drubbing tonight at the Camp Nou. Instead Hercules gave an astonishing drubbing to the
defending champions.
Normal service were restored at the Camp Nou with an emphatic 5-1 victory against the Greek
Champions. The match's importance grew following the 2-0 dfeat at the hand of Hercules. This also
had its fair share of twists with the Greek side taking the lead in the 20th minute to leave Camp
Nou stunned.
FC Barcelona won their first league match under Guardiola at the Vicente Calderon with a
fighting 2-1 display. The hapiness of the victory was dampened by the scenes of Messi getting
carried away in a streture towards the end after getting himself hurt by teh challenge of
Ujfalausi. We have to wait for sometime inorder to access the injury.
David Villa struck in the second half to help FC Barcelona defeat his former club at the Camp
Nou. With Real Madrid winning yesterday this three points has to be considered more than valuable.
After a goal-less first half, Villa struck ealry in second half to down a team with whom he tasted
his first success.
FC Barcelona moved to second place in the La Liga table behind Valencia with a 3-1 victory at
San mames. Real madrid's failure to win against levante presented us with a great chance to leap
forward them. In a match which saw two red card (Amorebieta, Villa) goals from Keita, Xavi and
Busquets secured Barca a vital away win in one of the most toughest stadiums in Spain.
FC Barcelona failed once again to register a victory against the Russian side Rubin Kazan. That
is quite an understatement, as Barca trailed for large part of the match. A first half penalty gave
Rubin Kazan the lead but a second half penalty from Villa equalised for Barca. We once again had
the most of the possession and had some seriously good chances to put the match to rest.
FC Barcelona failed to take three points from yet another home match. At this point in the
season , we have only one win at home and that too a 1-0 victory against Sporting Gijon. The poor
state of Camp Nou pitch can definitely be blamed for this poor form but tonight it was a case of we
getting blocked by a stubborn defense.
FC Barcelona produced a stunning second half display to come back from a goal down to win one of
the most important match this season. After being outplayed throughout the first half, Barca came
out roaring in the second hal. Iniesta and Puyol scored for Barca to negate Pablo's first half
strikes.
FC Barcelona moved to the top of the Group D with a laboured 2-0 victory against the Danish
Cahmpions, Copenhagen. Two strikes from the World Player of the Year, Lionel Messi secured a vital
win for Barca. FC Copenhagen had his fair share of chances to equalise in the match and would
beruining missing those moments.
FC Barcelona maintained their 100% away season reconrd with a confortable 2-0 victory over
bottom placed Zaragoza. Yet again, it was Lionel Messi who scored all the goals for Barca. With
this victory we go temporarily to the top of the table. Madrid is playing Racing currently and
could retain the lead with a victory.
A young looking FC Barcelona side strolled to a 2-0 victory against third division side AD Ceuta
in their opening match of this season's Copa Del Rey tournament. Goals from Maxwell and Pedro in
the first half sealed a valuable away victory, which almost see us through to the next round.
Three seasons ago, a visit to Getafe was quite difficult. But tonight's easy 3-1 victory has
officially confirmed that those times have changed. FC Barcelona started the game in the third gear
and stayed in that for almost entire first half and even lowered it a notch down in second half,
still Getafe didn't have any decent chance of springing a surprise.
Lionel Messi double secures Barca victory
FC Barcelona moved to the top of La Liga table with a comfortable 3-1 win against thrid placed
Villareal. Two goals from Messi and one from Villa was enough to see off the challenge from posed
by the team in Yellow. Real Madrid will play only tomorrow and that means we could remain in te top
for close to 24 hours.
FC Barcelona registered their biggest victory so far this season, with a 8-0 victory over
Almeria. This victory it is a great way to prepare for the Clasico which will be held on next
Monday. This also equals our biggest victory record away from home. Messi scored thrice, Bojan
twice and Pedro, Iniesta plus an unfortunate own goal completed the tally for FC Barcelona.
Barca make short work of a terrified Osasuna
FC Barcelona moved five point clear off Real Madrid with tough 3-0 victory against Osasuna. This
is our seventh consecutive away win of the season and that's yet another La Liga record. There has
been huge controversy into the build up of this match.
Young Barca side Strolls Past Rubin Kazan
It's fourth time lucky for Guardiola and Barca against the Russian side Rubin Kazan. Rubin Kazan
have been remaining as an unsolved puzzle till tonight. Guardiola tried thrice unsuccessfully with
the first team to break the Russian side, it looks like he should have gone for the kids earlier
itself.
With non football events grabbing all the headlines this week, it was time for the action on
ground to take centre stage. And it did, with a 5-0 thrashing of Real Soceidad we have moved back
to the top of La Liga. Two goals from Messi and one each from Villa, Iniesta and Bojan rounded off
a confident and comfortable victory for Barca.
FC Barcelona failed to break a tough Athletic defense
FC Barcelona non-stop winning streak has been ended by the Basque club, Athletic Bilbao in the
first leg of the Copa Del Rey tie. FC Barcelona tried everything to break a determined defense, but
had to settle with a goaless draw in the end.
