FC Barcelona will be playing their first competitive match of the 2011-12 season at Santiago
Bernebeu stadium tomorrow night. The Spanish Super cup in contrast to their Premier League rivals
is a two legged affair and we do have the advantage of playing teh second leg at home. Real Madrid
and Barcelona had kind of a contrasting pre-season tour.
Whatever be the result, come tomorrow history will be made. FC Barcelona and Manchester United
will face each other in this season' biggest final, UEFA Champions League final at the Wembley
stadium, a place both team claims as their destiny. The Old Wembley stadium has been very precious
for these two teams - having won their first European titlesover there.
This has to be the most toughest match FC Barcelona has faced till now. Yes even bigger than the
Clasico. This is the first Do or Die match we have to encounter this season. The home leg of ended
in a goal less draw which perfectly places this tie in the balance. To an extent we have to say
that Bilbao has a slight upper hand coming into this leg.
FC Barcelona vs Arsenal Promise to be yet another classic
FC Barcelona and Arsenalbuild up into the most important match of this season so far in
contrasting fashion. Played your opponent out of the park, is an under-statement when it comes to
describing Arsenal's performance against Wolves.
Levante could be the perfect team to start another wonderful year in the right way. The last
match Levante played was against Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey, and that did end up with an 8-0
drubbing. Lionel Messi is not available for this match, but I don't think that is going to bother
anyone.
The 5-0 victory in the first leg has made tomorrow's second leg of academic interest. But it
could be pretty important for the fringe players in the side. Guardiola is expected to rest
majority of his stars in the match in Sevilla. Messi who was down with flu has recovered and has
made into the squad.
FC Barcelona, when they meet Atletico Madrid in Camp Nou on tomorrow night will be playing for
more than three points. Last week FC Barcelona has equalled the record for the most consecutive
victories in La Liga with a 3-0 victory against Hercules. They have now equalled the record so long
solely held by the legendary 1960- Real Madrid side.
Ok, tomorrow Almeria visits the Camp Nou. I am just trying to remind you that, Its no wonder
that everyones focus is alreday on the Clasico at the Bernebeu. But we have a task on hand
tomorrow, before we can think about our Eternal Rivals. Considering the fact that nobody expected
Sporting to win at Bernebeu, it would be foolish to consider that we are going to win tomorrow by
just turning up.
Carrying a 5-1 lead from the first leg, the biggest worry for Guardiola could be complecency
creeping among his wards. He will be without the service of Iniesta, who is suspended for this leg
but otherwise have taken almost all available players to Ukraine. Iniesta could definitely do well
with some deserving rest and most probably we can expect Guardiola to rest more players.
FC barcelona vs Real Madrid Clash promises to be a Classic
Update: Puyol has been declared fit and is included in squad.
So it's officially starts tomorrow - The Grand Series of El Clasico. FC Barcelona will be going
to Bernebeu to kill any ray of hope that lingers in the Real Madrid fans and players' mind of
lifting the La Liga trophy.
FC Barcelona will be looking to officially win their first silverware of this season, when they
take on Real Madrid in the final of Copa del Rey tomorrow night. Ok, technically since we have
already won the Spanish super cup, this is going to be the second silverware and applying common
sense this would be actually our third, considering that we have almost sealed the La Liga trophy
with the draw at Bernebeu.
What a difference ten days make? When this El Clasico series began we were firmly the hot
favourite and buzzing with confidence. But two matches into the series we suddenly are the slight
underdog and not only some serious doubts have started to creep in. Guardiola could be seriously
thinking about what he has done to irk the footballing Gods.
FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid encounters usually in a literal sense is described as a Sporting war
between two of the most famous clubs, but this time around it is definitely a War(not only in
literal sense). The relationship between the two clubs are at the edge of no return, and it won't
take a genius to predict taht by the time this match is over - it would have already moved into a
point of no return.
Every Barca fan will be approaching this game in most probability with a very much confused
head. The confusion comes from the kind of oscillating results we had since the start of the
season. Already there have been two away matches and same number of home matches. FC Barcelona has
amazed a mind blowing 13 goals in the home matches.
The cartoon featured today on Sport.es right expresses the anxiety we Barca fans have about
International breaks. It's not like we lost so much after International breaks, but there is no
denial that a number of our lackluster performance came following the break. But this time around
we shouldn't have such thoughts crossing our mind as the cartoon say "We got Andres Iniesta - The
Anti FIFA Virus Guys".
With both teams already qualified, tomorrow night's clash at San Siro between AC Milan and FC
Barcelona is all about claiming the top spot in Group H. With 10 points Barca is at the top of the
group ahead of AC Milan by two points. Usually two draws from now should see us stay at top, but
the problem for Barca is the thei last Group match will take place days ahead of the first
Clasico.
Less than 24 hours is left for the start of the first edition of this season's "El Clasico"
encounter in the La Liga. Usually this would have been the first meeting between the two giants of
not only Spanish football, but World Football. But this year they have already met twice in the two
legged Super Copa clash and Barca had emerged deserving winners at the time.
