Henry spent eight successful years at Arsenal after Wenger signed him from Juventus back
in 1999.
At the time Henry was a winger and, after an unsuccessful year spent at Juve, eyebrows were raised
when Wenger splashed out £11m to sign the France international.
Back in February, there was a credible leak for the FC Barcelona Nike 2009/10 away kit. Now due to
the power of camera phones and the internet, we've got what we think is the FC Barcelona Nike
2009/10 home kit. It's seen in the pictures below which appear to be taken either in a Nike [...]
Barcelona are set to make their first summer signing and it is the one that they wanted most,
Valencia's David Villa. Barcelona and Valencia have reached a deal that will see David Villa move
to Camp Nou and are expected to make an announcement soon, Goal.com has learned. A source close to
Camp Nou has revealed exclusively [.
Barca captain Carles Puyol is enjoying his vacation on the Spanish island of Formentera, with an
unidentified blond. And even though we have no idea who she is, the sight of Puyol in his swimming
trunks is always welcome.
But seriously. We've never seen them together before - what happened to his long-time girlfriend,
Agnes?
Victor Valdes looks muy adorable with a baby on his arm, but the little girl who celebrated Barca's
Liga title with him is his brother's daughter, and not his own. However, Vic is soon to become a
father himself!
His girlfriend is well into her pregnancy with the couple's first child, a boy, as Victor revealed
in a recent interview.
Situated in the heart of every great team is always a truly special central midfielder who is
capable of taking matches by the scruff of their neck and dominating them.
Some midfielders are specialists in the holding role, others have an uncanny knack of scoring
goals but every so often a player comes along that can excel in all areas.
Simon Kuper and Stefan Syzmanski titled the American version of their new book Soccernomics
(review is here), but their title for the release in the UK is Why England Lose. In the book,
Kuper and Syzmanski identified the US as a rising power in soccer and England as a permanent
disappointment to their rabid fans.
What happens in Vegas isn't really staying in Vegas as far as Gerard Pique is concerned. He's out
there with his mates and the pictures are leaking right out onto the net... and such yummy pictures
they are too. Geri looks smoking hot, and quite happy! Seems to us he's having a hell of a good
time. He's working up a tan, too - somebody catch us, we're about to faint.

A mi parecer su calidad es mucho mayor que la de muchos jugadores del equipo merengue, ya veremos

It was a fantastic match on Wednesday night at Barcelona scored a late goal to advance to the
finals against Manchester United on May 27th. Chelsea had the better chances all night and some
questionable decision from the referee cost the English club. Several occassion a handball or
penalty could have been called but the referee allowed a very physical match.
Andres Iniesta is off vacationing in where we're going to say is his hometown, Fuentebella, because
again, that's where he always goes.
Anyway. Doesn't he look like he's having a lovely time with his girlfriend, Anna? They're too cute.
And he's too pasty. Will nothing get this boy's skin to darken up just a little bit?
After weeks of leaks, FC Barcelona's website has published pictures of the La Blaugrana's Nike
2009/10 home, away and first goalkeeper kits. According to the website Barca will wear the new home
kit for the first time on Saturday in the Camp Nou for the match against Osasuna. The second choice
kit will be used [.

The youngster Keirrison has been left out of the squad for Palmeiras' next match. Palmeiras have
confirmed this morning that they have received an official offer from Barcelona for striker
Keirrison. It was reported yesterday that the highly-rated Brazilian was close to moving to Spain
and now it seems even more likely that he will be at [.
Ivory Coast International Yaya Toure may leave Barcelona but if he does, it will not be to join
Arsenal. His agent, Dmitri Seluk, said:
There are many teams interested in Toure. He will not go to Arsenal because he has better offers
and nor will he go to Germany, but his future could be in Italy or in England.
Liverpool are to have their will tested after reports claimed that Barcelona are set to offer the
Premier League runners-up Samuel Eto'o in a swap deal that would see Javier Mascherano move the
other way.
It is the second time in a week the unsettled Argentina midfielder has been linked with the
European champions, following reports that Liverpool turned down a £20 million offer from the Nou
Camp, adding that not even £50m would be enough.
Gerard Pique's baring of his sizzling abs is not why he is our weekly pick; although we can
probably all agree that that would be reason enough. The picture is from last season anyway; no,
he's done something else this week that's making us melt for him...
Geri was one of the few players given leave to stay away on vacation until the twenty-seventh;
however he cut his holiday short and returned from the Maldives to Barcelona last Monday!
This is one of the most bizarre things you can expect to see at a professional football match.
With Chelsea leading 1-0 against Manchester United, Salomon Kalou was getting ready to come on for
Didier Drogba in the 83rd minute of the game. However, who would have expected a Chelsea supporter
to look so calm and collected as he brushed his teeth in the crowd.
The Premier League is not that great
I remember the first time the ball was put in to touch to allow treatment to an injured
player, it wasn't that long ago, a world cup game if I recall correctly. I had a lump in my throat
when the ball was given back to the team that put it out, at this display of sportsmanship gracing
the beautiful game.
After the transfer of David Beckham to Major League Soccer (MLS) has had increased exposure and
interest from abroad. Many of the European players now view MLS as a realistic choice, especially
as they wind down their careers. The success of Freddie Ljungberg with the Seattle Sounders has
only increased the interest from European players.
Barcelona star Xavi has launched a stunning attack on Cristiano Ronaldo. The Manchester United star
will officially sign for Barca's bitter rivals Real Madrid on Wednesday. And the Spanish midfielder
has landed the first blow since his move was announced by branding Ronaldo "uncontrollable". Xavi
believes Ronaldo's celebrity lifestyle would be a distraction for Barca's players.
Desperation creeping in as Serie A side tries hard to appease angry supporters!
Milan are planning to sign Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas, with Rossoneri club president
Silvio Berlusconi having given the move the go-ahead.
According to Tuttosport, vice president Adriano Galliani has a pre-agreement in place with
Berlusconi over the Spanish international, and Gunners coach Arsene Wenger has promised he will
sell Fabregas to the Italian giants.
We find the offseason annoying because there's not nearly so much yummy news on our boys, nor any
weekly matches from which we can single out one gent who was positiveley shining... nevertheless we
can still manage to pick out a favorite even if they're not playing! And this week it's Rafael
Marquez.
CR9 fails with poor attempt at mind games.

I Would Not Sign Any Barcelona Players For Real Madrid Cristiano Ronaldo
Barca may have several major stars, but none of them could play for Los Blancos, according to
'CR9′.
Even though Leo Messi was on the bench for the Sevilla match, we're sure everyone noticed that he's
gotten his hair cut short. The man behind Leo's look is Manolo Garcia, the head hairdresser at the
Hotel Princesa Sofia in Barcelona, and he's also the one who takes care of Pique's hair.
Well, we can't say we much agree with Señor Garcia on the matter of buzzing Pique's hair; but
Messi is just too cute with the short hair like this, and it sure beats the long hair/headband look
he was sporting last season.
I couldn't update regularly in last couple of days. But it looks like there was not much of
development about Barca in Transfer Market. But the biggest news in Transfer Market as today is a
reported 50 million bid for Valencia striker Villa. Valencia is reported to be asking for more but
there is a high chance of Barca beating Real madrid to his signature.
Gerard Pique played DJ once again during Barcelona's flight back from Madrid after facing Getafe,
and this time, he had a larger audience as the club's basketball team shared the flight.
Minutes after takeoff Pique was again back at the plane's sound system, hooking his ipod up to it,
and though the plane's staff gave him a bit of trouble at first, in the end he won them over.
Now, this one? This one I didn't see coming.
French and Barcelona defender Eric Abidal was given a straight red card for apparently tripping
Chelsea forward Nicolas Anelka, who was through on goal, midway through the second half of
Wednesday's Champions League second leg at Stamford Bridge.
Seeing as it's offseason, and today just happens to be one of those days when there is really not
much to report apart from boring transfer rumors, we're just going to post this even though it's
old news, it having slipped us when still fresh... we hope you don't mind? Great then.
There was supposed to be quite an exciting friendly footie match taking place on the Los Angeles
Memorial Coliseum in LA on the fourth of July, featuring a team made up of South American stars -
including Barca's Leo Messi - against a team of stars from the rest of the world, including such
players as Materazzi, Camoranesi, Viera, etc.
After covering the Barcelona versus Real Madrid topic, it is only logical if Lionel Messi and
Cristiano Ronaldo were discussed due to their pivotal role in both teams. The two wingers are
currently playing for two of the best clubs in Spain and two of the most popular outfits in the
world.
While Juande Ramos' career at White Hart Lane is done and dusted, remains of his legacy can still
be spotted. Over the summer, Tottenham wrapped up an exciting £9 million deal for Barcelona's
Giovani Dos Santos. Once viewed as Barca's successor to Ronaldinho, fans around the league - myself
included - were anxious to see the Mexican's talents.
And guess who was delighted to be watching from the touchlines? Following Andres Iniesta's
last-gasp winning goal against Chelsea on Wednesday night, the Spanish press have raked up this
spooky video from a decade earlier. The footage comes from a Nike Cup match between the youth teams
of Chelsea and Barcelona.
Who's being linked with moves in today's transfer gossip pages? In today's transfer news and
rumors roundup, we've got a little something from several top European leagues to get you over the
Wednesday hump.

Manchester City Deny Messi Move
Manchester City are denying that they've made an approach for Barcelona star Lionel
Messi, after reports that City had offered 150m to buy out the remainder of Messi's
contract.
Il Mundo of Spain is reporting that both Inter and Barcelona are
preparing a possible swap of Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Samuel Eto. The deal if agreed upon would
involve both players trading spots and 60 to 70 million euros to Inter for the Swedish
International. Zlatan is a fantastic player, his role will be different at Barca then it was at
Inter.
Any player who is successful in the Premier League earns praise, money, and a
rumoured move to one of the classier clubs in Europe. Cesc
Fabregas is no exception, and he has been linked with a move away from the
Emirates for some time now.
The transfer market continues to be busy with several teams adding and selling players ahead of
this fall. English club Arsenal have signed Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax while Valencia have stated
David Villa is not for sale. Here's the recap of the latest transfer news in European soccer.
Arsenal sign Vermaelen - "Arsenal have completed the signing of versatile
Belgium defender Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax Amsterdam
The 23-year-old, who can play either centrally or on the left, passed a medical on Friday and
will bolster a defence that came under fire from all quarters last season.
1. Yet again we are going to spend the aftermath of a big match talking about refereeing decisions
rather than the football itself. Tom Henning Ovrebo had a bit of a nightmare. OK, a lot of a
nightmare. In Barca's defence, he reserved his worst decision for them - there is no way Eric
Abidal [...]
The young Spaniard Suso will join up with his fellow countrymen at Anfield rather than join the
superstars at the Bernabeu. Liverpool have stolen a march on Spanish giants Real Madrid and
Barcelona and secured the services of highly-rated Cadiz teenager Jesus Fernandez Saez, nicknamed
Suso, according to Setanta Sports.
Football is a global sport. Which is one of the reasons we love it so much. But that international
appeal is also the reason for many many misunderstandings, leading to football teams being
incorrectly labeled outside their native land. And this can drive fans of those teams crazy. I've
been on both ends of this.
