Barca hat-trick hero up the duff Not only has Thierry Henry had to hand over the best part of
£10 million to his ex-wife, the French striker also has the added expense of a new little baby
on the way. The former Arsenal man could not hide his bump as he celebrated a hat-trick in
Barcelona's [...]

Sweet little Lionel Messi's reputation is in a spot of trouble. Late in this weekend's 4-1 win over
Malaga, Messi was roaming around and bumped into the back of Duda, Portuguese winger from the
Andalusian club. Duda clearly doesn't enjoy being bumped from behind by men, so he turned around
and recited a love sonnet [.

It's not all fast cars and WAGs you know. There's pre-season training too. This photo of Thierry
Henry and Barca teammates moving the goals for a training session yesterday captures that
pre-season feeling nicely. Although the smiles might disappear once the shuttle runs get started.

The Steve Nash Foundation hosted the Showdown in Chinatown in NY last month, a pick-up game
starring such notables as the recently retired Claudio Reyna, Barca's Thierry Henry, Jason Kidd,
Robbie Fowler, Steve McManaman, and Juan Pablo Angel.
I embedded a video of the craziness in Spain and Barca and Espanyol the other day. But, like only
soccer can do, there's more.
Apparently Tottenham was abusing Sol Campbell. If not racist chants, than homophobic ones.
And Scotland has had some racist chanting.
But some are taking it further than words.
Two years after completing the largest deal in MLS history for David Beckham, the LA Galaxy are at
it again. El Mundo Deportivo says Galaxy have made Ronaldinho a very large offer of £12
million-a-year PLUS another £12 million for his image rights. Galaxy are also willing to pay a
massive £18 million to Barca [.
With Portugal star Deco (Art to his mates) set to sign for Chelsea at the end of the European
Championships, the Barca midfielder has decided that he wants the gummy-toothed smile of his
Brazilian club teammate at Stamford Bridge next season too, but would either of them be a success
at Chelsea?... Both Deco [.

It's not such a "slow news" day as me would say... There's expansion related talk
breaking out in all quarters from New York City to Philadelphia to Miami.
Kudos to an MLSR reader who sent us this story by email. It would appear that Barcelona is talking
with the USL side, Miami FC about entering MLS perhaps with some Barca branding.
Barca star snapped wandering around NYC, looking for new club It's not a fashion crime as such,
simply because Henry manages to look good in just about anything (bastard) - that includes an
ironic t-shirt, accessorised with old-school high-top sneakers....
Both Setanta and World Soccer News are reporting on Rivaldo's comments concerning Ronaldinho's
relationship with Barcelona, the club Rivaldo used to play for.
Chelsea sign Deco. Looks like Lamps is off to Inter then Today is Big Phil's first official day as
Chelsea boss. His first signing was Deco, Portugal's Brazilian playmaker. Deco has signed from

Pep Guardiola is determined to make his mark on world football as he continues to spend, spend,
spend at Camp Nou. Having already spent £6m on Manchester United's Gerard Pique, £8m on
Palmeiras' Henrique, £11m on Sevilla's Seydou Keita and £13m on Villareal's Martin
Caceres, the new Barca manager is still spending as he continues to [.
The day where Alexander Hleb leaves the club may have finally arrived. He's in Barcelona for a
physical, and the deal will be done. Someone over at Setanta takes a look at the impact that Hleb
has had at Arsenal. I'll make a long story short: with him off the pitch, more goals were scored
and more games won.
This morning's Champions League third qualifying round draw paired Liverpool with Belgians Standard
Liege. Here's your essential guide:
1) Like Liverpool, Standard Liege are known as ‘The Reds' because of their home strip.
2) The club was formed in 1900 by a group of the College of Saint-Servais in Liege.

Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure claims Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tried to sign him over the
summer. The Ivory Coast international has been linked with a move to the Gunners since the end of
last season and has previously admitted he would like to join his brother Kolo at the London club.
The 25-year-old only joined Barca at [.
Thierry Henry is suffering at Barcelona and it breaks my heart to see the situation that he is
in.
The man is a legend at Arsenal and I thought he would have ended his career with us. Obviously that
didn't happen and although I, like every Gooner, was sad to see him leave, I wished him no malice
and hoped he would be happy in Spain.
Frank Rijkaard was the perfect manager for FC Barcelona. Joan Laporta said so. Johan Cruyff said
so. His players thought so, all the way to the bitter end.
"Frank speaks so quietly you have to strain to hear him," says Ronaldinho,
"and when you do, you realise he's always right.
Luiz Felipe Scolari, from now on here at the Offside known as Uncle Phil, hasn't even taken over
at Chelsea yet. That hasn't stopped the rumor mill, and it's continued ridiculousness, from
churning out obscene amounts of transfer speculation regarding the club. A whole heap of numbers is
being thrown around, but the one popping up the most is £100mil.
For anybody thinking Ronaldinho wouldn't welcome a transfer from Barca to Chelsea, this interview
should put that to rest. It's becoming very obvious that Scolari has all the right connections
having been around the block once or twice, and it looks to be paying dividends for Chelsea.
"I am a Barca player.
By 1970's Gooner Alexander Hleb will become tomorrow the fifth player signed by Barcelona this
transfer window. New Barca boss Pep Guardiola has already recruited defenders Daniel Alves
(Sevilla), Martin Caceres (Villarreal) and Gerard Pique (Manchester United) as well as midfielder
Seydou Keita (Seville).
Ok, so I didn't make it to Chivas/Barca, but I am in Chicago. I booked this trip a long time...
JC made a lot of great great goals... If Van Basten's volley is the quintessential Oranje goal
ever, this goal is Barcelona's most beautiful. Despite Romario, Stoichkov, Ronaldinho, Messi... JC
made the best goal ever for Barca, against Atletico Madrid. The balance, the timing, the touch...
And to be honest,
Barca striker Samuel Eto'o doesn't beat about the bush, and yesterday he was as frank as a Catchphrase contestant after being injected with truth serum and forced to "say what you see!" by a manic Roy Walker.
According to the Cameroon star, Tottenham are far too lowly for him, Eto'o smashed through Spurs [.
Arsene Wenger is pursuing the Zenit St. Petersburg striker with deadly intent notwithstanding
his coy statements. To do that he has to cloud Arshavin's mind by blurring Arsenal's style with
that of Barca (which remains Arshavin's first choice). Having Cesc Fabregas team up with the
Arshavin on display in this Euro should be a mouthwatering proposition for Arsenal this season.
After weeks of the two clubs releasing statements saying how close they were to signing the player,
Barca and Milan look like they will miss out on Arsenal's 30-goal hero after he declared he wanted
to stay at the Emirates Stadium. Emmanuel Adebayor was expected to leave Arsenal in a
£25million deal for either the San [.
I have a quick thought on Andrei Arshavin's current popularity and impending sale (although the
stars of the day are deservedly Torres and Xavi)
H.U has already posted that Arshavin is, while a very good player, not a consistent performer at
the highest level. I would agree that the evidence points in this direction - Arshavin can
certainly be expected to produce, but not dominate day in, day out.
The Independent reports that new Man City boss Mark Hughes reckons that he can get Ronaldinho's
mind away from bars and women and back to football. The Brazilian's fall from grace at Barca has
left the Camp Nou High Command with no option but to let him go. "People are questioning
Ronaldinho's situation at [.

FC.
Before heading to the U.S to play CD Guadalajara in Chicago and the Red Bulls in New York Barcelona
stopped in Scotland for two pre-season friendlies. First Barca opened up by thrashing Hibs 6-0 at
Murrayfield, giving new Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola his first victory. An Eidur Gudjohnsen

Real Madrid stole the victory in another game filled with excitement, but CD Numancia is stealing
the limelight - and maybe even a few hearts. After their shocking defeat of Barca on the opening
weekend of La Liga they were gifted a trip to the Bernabeu - thanks, schedule makers - where it was
assumed [.
Don't put your favourite La Liga club above the Royal family A Moroccan schoolboy who supports
Barcelona has been jailed for insulting the country's Royal family. Yassine Belassal altered the
phrase "God, The Nation, The King" on the school blackboard so that it instead read
"God, The Nation, Barcelona".
All signs point to major changes in the Barcelona squad next season. My (massively long, as
it turns out) two cents on who should be staying and who needs to be ushered out the door
below.
Keep in mind, though, that I haven't taken any economic considerations (e.g. selling X will get us
some cash to spend on Y) into account.
Misled or just plain stupid? That's the question I keep asking myself. Announcing one moment that
he is staying and the next suggesting he could be leaving suggests to me that Ade isn't the
brightest fella around.
When the first statement came out I was impressed by Ade's loyalty, when the second came out I was
left scratching my head feeling slightly bemused.

MADRID, (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona will officially accept Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb as its

tests before putting pen to paper to become Barca's sixth incorporation of the summer. The Catalan
outfit has already signed Sevilla duo Dani Alves and Keita, former Manchester [.
