The Unified Government of Wyandotte County, Kansas, has unanimously approved a $414-million
development plan that includes the construction of a new 18,000-seat soccer-specific stadium for
the Kansas City Wizards, a large office complex for Cerner Corporation, and an 18-field,
tournament-quality youth complex at Wyandotte County Park.
Earlier tonight the Wizards retweeted a comment from SI.com columnist Jeff Kassouf about KC being
on the list for potential expansion to the WPS. Specifically once the Wizards open their soccer
specific stadium. I went to Kassouf's column on SI.com and his article from August 11th mentions KC
as being a candidate along side Miami, Vancouver, Denver, San Diego, and Ontario.

For those that haven't been out at the stadium site for a while, you're missing a lot. The stadium
site is moving along incredibly fast. Yesterday, James over at KCWFans.com was out at the stadium
site and got some fantastic photos of how the stadium is coming along, including the above photo.
