It looks like professional indoor soccer will be returning to Kansas City this winter. Rumors have
been around for the past few months about professional indoor soccer returning to KC, ever since
the announcement of the KC vs St. Louis legends match set to be played at the Independence Event
Center.
The MLS season is now over and a lot of former players will now not be updated right now. The
indoor season is picking up though and thanks to last Friday's game I now know there's another
former player playing for the Omaha Vipers, as Chris Brunt is on that team. Also there is a new
former player, Jonathan Leathers is now officially a former SKC player after having been selected
by Vancouver in the expansion draft.
Marco Terminesi
Former Minnesota Thunder player Marco Terminesi scored his second hat trick of
the season and this one came 1:30 into extra time of Thursdays New Year's Eve game against the
Baltimore Blast.
Milwaukee trailed 2-0 at the half, but scored three goals in the fourth quarter to tie the
game.
From the Comets
It's not quite on par with the "Miracle on Ice," but the Comets certainly pulled off the "Miracle
in Milwaukee" with a shocking, 13-8 victory over the undefeated Milwaukee Wave at U.S. Cellular
Arena Friday afternoon. The Comets, coming off an embarrassing loss just two days ago to the
Baltimore Blast, played their most complete game of the season and ended the Wave's 13-game
consecutive regular season win streak, dating back to last year.
Peter Wilt Plays Nostradamus
OK, you're probably now starting to think that I'm a pretty lazy writer....yes, I'm going with a
list column for the third straight week. I'm following up the ever popular "Holiday Gift"and
"Best Memories of the Year" columns with the ever popular "Predictions for the New Year"
column.
By the looks of things, not a lot of folks. Now that the Philadelphia KiXX have become the last
Major Indoor Soccer League team to open its home schedule (they couldn't get 10 dates at their new
home at Temple University, so they're only playing 8 home games this year), here's a look at the
attendance figures for each of the five teams in what's left of top-flight indoor soccer:
Team G Total Average Median High Low Baltimore Blast 5 32,801 6,560 6,511 9,614 4,208 Philadelphia
KiXX 1 4,584 4,584 4,584 4,584 4,584 Milwaukee Wave 4 12,706 3,177 3,298 3,857 2,254 Monterrey
LaRaZa 5 13,754 2,751 2,678 4,150 1,572 Rockford Rampage 5 5,793 1,159 846 1,900 690

As they have for years, Baltimore sets the pace in indoor attendance.
There was a Wave of nostalgia in the air at the US Cellular Arena in Milwaukee last Saturday.
The Milwaukee Wave game reminded me of the old days, and not just because it was "Wave Homecoming
Day". It was by far the best day since my return to indoor soccer last October. It was the
biggest crowd of the season (5,789), the highest ticket revenue in three years and Marco Terminesi
scored two goals to lead the Wave to the win, which moved us (temporarily) back into first place
in the MISL.
Soccer fans across the state will be able to watch the Milwaukee Wave in the Major Indoor Soccer
League championship game.
Fox Sports Wisconsin will televise the match between the Wave and either the Baltimore Blast or
Monterrey LaRaZa live from Milwaukee's U.S. Cellular Arena at 5 p.m.
The Monterrey La RaZa beat the Baltimore Blast 10-8 in overtime on Monday night to win the
teams' Major Indoor Soccer League semifinal series and earn a spot in Sunday's championship game
against the Milwaukee Wave at U.S. Cellular Arena.
Kickoff is set for 5 p.m., and the game can be seen on FS Wisconsin.
"The I-League is a national indoor soccer league that features an economically viable model for
team owners. Set to debut in 2011, the I-League will offer high-level professional indoor soccer
in regionalized divisions. The launch of the I-League is the initial phase of USL's efforts to
build the soccer pyramid to meet the growing demands of the indoor game.
Today the Comets released their full season schedule for the 2010-2011 season. The first month, and
the home dates were known, but now we know the full schedule. We also know the name of the 5th
team, the Chicago Riot. Here is this season's full schedule, but I'm not entirely sure what they
mean by Premium Game schedule for February 26th.
Here's this week's former Wizards update. Lots of goings on outside of on the field action. First,
former Wizards, and one of the team leaders in games played, Chris Klein is set to retire from
professional soccer at the end of the season. He spent most of his career with the Wizards before
moving on to Salt Lake and then LA.
The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) expanded this season with several new teams. With the
league expansion comes the opportunity for more outdoor players to make a living during the winter
playing soccer. Amongst those roster spots are a number of former and current players who have
plied their trade for Minnesota teams.
SAN DIEGO, Cal. Paul Wright has played in the Western Soccer Alliance, the Continental Indoor
Soccer League, the Professional Arena Soccer League, Major League Soccer, two incarnations of the
Major Indoor Soccer League, the indoor and outdoor versions of the American Professional Soccer
League, and two NPSLs: the National Professional Soccer League and National [.
As the Chicago Riot season edges closer, the complete roster has been set. While a handful of
players hail from Illinois, which is always nice to see, the full roster is pretty diverse,
featuring players from many different countries like Montenegro, Croatia, Brazil, and Serbia. The
story linked above gives a brief overview of some of the players on the team.
From the Comets:
The Comets fell to the Milwaukee Wave by a score of 24-11 Saturday night at U.S. Cellular Arena.
The Wave dominated the first quarter, leading 6-0 at the end of the
first period. After a Wave 3-point goal to start the second quarter, Brian Harris got the Comets on
the board with a nice assist from Jose Louiz Birche.
The MLS season is now over so a lot more players will be falling off the list now for the time
being. Some other former SKC players are continuing to play, the indoor season is in full swing
right now. Also some news out of Europe, Chris Konopka has left Ireland and is now on trial with
Polish league leaders, Jagiellonia Bialystok.
The Major Indoor Soccer League today announced that Comets' forward, Leo Gibson, has been named the
league's Offensive Player of the Month for November. Gibson recorded four goals and four assists in
four games in November and leads the MISL with 15 points. He has scored one goal in each of the
Comets' games so far this season (three three-point goals and one two-point goal) and recorded
three of his four assists in the Comets' come-from-behind 12-11 victory over the Omaha Vipers.
Time for another former SKC Wizards update. Seasons are winding down for many players. Aaron
Hohlbein looks set to be a permanent member of this list after being selected today by Columbus.
Here's the rest of your update.

Indoor soccer.
From the Comets
Leading for three straight periods is hard. Holding onto a lead after three periods proved even
harder for the Comets as they fell 13-12 to the Baltimore Blast at First Mariner Arena.
Baltimore struck first on a re-start goal by Adauto Neto early in the
first quarter.
Here is this week's former SKC Wizards update.

Jamar Beasley - Missouri Comets - Had an assist in MO's 13-12 loss to Baltimore.
Not a busy time of year for former SKC Wizards players, either they're out of season, on winter
break, or their game was canceled due to weather. In none game related news Diego Gutierrez was
named the Philadelphia Union's Head of Scouting and Player Development. And Chris Klein was
recently named the LA Galaxy's senior director of the academy and special projects.
The Chicago Riot of the Major Indoor Soccer League is hosting "Chicago Soccer Heritage Night" at 7
p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, for the team's game against the Baltimore Blast at the Odeum Sports and Expo
Center in Villa Park, Ill. The night is in honor to all those who have put Chicago soccer on the
map, including long-time Chicago Fire veteran C.
Today the Comets announced the signing of 2 new players to 15 day contracts, one of which will be
known to most SKC Wizards fans. That player is local product, Will John, who graduated from
Rockhurst High School and played for the Wizards in 2006 and 2007 before moving to Europe. John is
still currently a member of NK Vinogradar of the Croatian second division according to the Comets
press release, so this sounds sort of like a loan of sorts.
The Missouri Comets announced today that they have signed Kansas City native Will John and Jamie
Harding. Both of them signed 15 day contracts. They will both be in uniform and available for the
game Wednesday against the Baltimore Blast. They should also be available for the game at Milwaukee
on the 31st and the game at home against Chicago on the 7th.
Still having some issues, if I don't get to your comments I'm sorry Cover it Live isn't working
tonight for me due to the issues with my PC. We'll do play by play here. for the moment, it's 8-2
right now Blast. Comets have had some moments, but when the Blast have turned it on they've looked
much better.
A very slow week for former SKC Wizards players. Most of those that are currently in season are on
winter break at the moment. There are a few that are playing indoor right now, including Will John,
who signed a short term contract with the Missouri Comets. Here's the rest of this week's former
SKC Wizards update.
The Comets opened the scoring tonight against the Baltimore Blast, but from there it went down
hill. An early 2 minute tripping penalty on Pat Healey gave MO the chance to grab the early lead as
Birche fed Bryon Alvarez who scored to give MO their only lead of the game. Shortly after MO's
goal, Healey atoned a bit as he scored off an assist from Worteh Sampson.
