Joe Hammes (Cedarburg/Milwaukee Marquette) scored a truly golden goal Sunday.
The veteran defender took a pass from Marco Terminesi off a restart and ripped a shot
past Baltimore Blast goalkeeper Sagu 46 seconds into overtime to lift the Milwaukee Wave to
a 12-10 victory, giving the team its second consecutive Major Indoor Soccer League
championship.

The Milwaukee Wave is halfway to a second straight Major Indoor Soccer League championship after
a dominating performance.
Marcio Leite had a hat trick, scoring three consecutive goals, and Marcel Feenstra
stopped 11 of 12 shots as the Wave routed the host Baltimore Blast 14-2 in Game 1 of the MISL
Championship Series in front of 6,072 Friday night at 1st Mariner Arena.

For the eighth time in his legendary career, Keith Tozer was named Coach of the Year.
The longtime Milwaukee Wave boss earned that honor from the Major Indoor Soccer League on
Thursday, an award voted on by league management and selected media members.
Tozer has the most coaching wins in indoor soccer history, with a 706-438 overall record over 27
seasons – the past 19 with the Wave.

The Milwaukee Wave have finalists in all five of the Major Indoor Soccer League's individual
award categories for the 2011-12 season.
Midfielder Marcio Leite (Most Valuable Player), Cedarburg native Joe Hammes
(Defender of the Year), Marcel Feenstra (Goalkeeper of the Year), Nick Perera (Rookie
of the Year) and Keith Tozer (Coach of the Year) all are on the ballot for the honors.
For the second straight year, the Milwaukee Wave and Baltimore Blast will battle for the Major
Indoor Soccer League title.
The Blast beat the Rochester Lancers 14-8 on Monday night to complete a two-game sweep of the
Eastern Division playoff series, and will play host to the Wave in Game 1 of the MISL Championship
Series at 6:35 p.

Ian Bennett scored the tying goal midway through the third quarter, Marco
Terminesi gave the Wave the lead for good with 17 seconds left in the period and Milwaukee held
off the Missouri Comets 9-7 Sunday afternoon to sweep the teams' two-game Central Division playoff
series.

It's been a case of feast or famine for the Milwaukee Wave against the rival Baltimore Blast
this season.
The host Blast blanked the Wave over the middle two quarters, rallied from an early deficit and
held off a fourth-quarter rally as they posted a 17-13 victory over Milwaukee in a Major Indoor
Soccer League game watched by 9,644 on Saturday night.

Rochester has taken over the league lead from Baltimore, which is noteworthy because the Blast
has led its league in average announced attendance for the last seven years.
The Missouri Comets had gotten their magic number down to 1 on Friday with their win over the
Baltimore Blast. They didn't wait long to make make that magic number 0. The Comets took care of
business today in Milwaukee, defeating the Wave 17-14 to punch their ticket to the playoffs.
The Wave grabbed an early 2-0 lead on the power play less than 5 minutes into the quarter.

from game Sagu deserves a lot of credit, he used a sense of humor and good sportsmanship to talk
with fans and even the Cauldron guys were paying him respect before it was all over. That is
expected of the home goalie (and Danny Waltman does that well) but not the visitors.
The Missouri Comets magic number for clinching a playoff birth this year is now down to 1, after an
18-9 win over the Baltimore Blast at the Independence Event Center. The win, coupled with a 6-3
loss to the Milwaukee Wave in Milwaukee leaves the Comets 1 win or 1 Wichita loss away from
clinching a spot in the playoffs this year.
