So, one point from a game where it won't really do much to help us. In reality though, we could
have come away with all three points had we managed to score one more of our chances, or had Saja
not made a terrible mistake that the goalkeeper on my own amateur team would likely avoid.
Well, AEKBaltimore will watch the match on TV soon, since I believe he recorded it, and I'm not
sure if AEKMAN74 watched as well.

We are officially a club in crisis.
A lackluster AEK missed chance after chance, and it was 0-0 after regular time. Â Then, in the
14th minute of extra time, Thrasyvoulos nicked a goal and they held their lead through the rest of
extra time. Â That is it then. Â We are out of the Greek Cup, felled by a Division B team.

We got a good win tonight at OAKA against a team that could have put up some difficulties.
Unfortunately though, its quite late here, so I dont have time to post a review right now. Either
I'll write it tomorrow or perhaps if either AEKMAN74 or AEKBaltimore watched the match they'll get
something.

Well, a press conference was held a few days back with regards to the new investors who were
mentioned the post before. The deal has been confirmed, as most people expected, but still the
names have not been revealed. Even at AEK only a few people (Notias, maybe Thanopoulos) know who
they are.

So, AEK has been on the news all day, and everyday, for the past few days. The reason why? It
looks like two Cypriot investors (the identities have not yet been revealed) are going to invest a
large sum of money. I can't remember the exact details but I believe one of the Cypriot investors
will be investing seven million euros, another will invest two million, and the shareholders
already with AEK will add another six million, meaning that overall, fifteen million euros will be
invested into the team.

Well, it looks like everything is over with Leonardo for at least six months. Levadeiakos have
said that he is an important member of the team (well that was kind of obvious) and AEK have
released an official announcement on their site (although its in Greek) confirming that we have
stopped trying to sign him.

Yep, you guessed it, another derby on the first matchday of the season. And AEK will once again
be one of the teams playing in the derby, just like last year. And who will our opponent be? Yep,
its Olympiakos!
The game is still a while away but Im sure the likes of Bajevic, Blanco, Scocco, and Kyrgiakos
are waiting for their revenge after our unfortunate loss in the Greek Cup Final of 2009.

We've continued our summer transfers after singing Romanian Ilie Iordache (Winger) and Greek
Defender Kosta Manola. Manola is the 18 year old nephew of Stelios Manolas. Some are saying that
siging of Kostas might conivnce Stelios to stay on board with us, after he clearly stated that he
would like to leave.

AEK have recently signed left-back Nikolaos Karabelas who currently played at Aris.
This is a decent transfer. The defender is 24 years old. Bajevic is already familiar with him
since he coached him while at Aris. This should certainly help since both Karabelas and Bajevic
know each other already.

The match against Larissa ended 0-0 yesterday.
A report can be found here.
As the article states the draw means little for us. Either way, we can still qualify for
Champions League as long as we beat Panathinaikos this Sunday. However, we did not play as well as
we should have one week before the biggest game of the playoffs.

AEK managed to beat PAOK 1-0 in a sold out Toumba satidum.
This is another great result for us and hopefully we will win the next three matches which will
guarantee us a Champions League qualifying spot. Our two toughest games (in theory) are now over
and we managed to come out with four out of a total of six possible points from the two
fixtures.

1-1 was the final score at today's Playoff game against our Athenian Rivals. Honestly,
considering this is probably the toughest match of the Playoffs for us, this really isn't a bad
result. We now have five points, and PAO have six (depending on how the Larissa-PAOK match turns
out we will stay in second or move down to third but it is still quite early so we still have a
chance of finishing high up).

The squad has been anounced for tomorrow's game.
As I was hoping earlier last week, Kyrgiakos will not play at this game. Neither will
Alexopoulos due to being suspended (along with Scocco and Pelletieri). Since Juanfran is injured,
and neither Alexopoulos or Kyrgiakos will be playing it is possible that we might see
N'Siambamfumu, our recently aquired French centre back, play!

AEK grabbed another thre points this weekend to move into one point within second place in the
standings. Goals for AEK came from Djebbour, Blanco (who is now top-scorer), and substitue Edinho.
Levadeiakos' only goal came from an own goal after a Levadeiakos shot rebounded off Tacthtidis'
foot, catching Saja off guard.

Here are the latest rumors circulating about AEK: Nikolaos Karabellas, 24-year-old left back
currently playing with Aris, has agreed to sign for AEK for three years. Georgios Fotikas, 27-year
old Midfielder currently playing for Larissa (and formerly of Kilmarnock FC of the Scottish Premier
League) is set to join AEK over the Summer as well.

So we're neither going to win the League nor are we going to win the Cup. The silver lining
here is that we have exactly one thing to focus on now: securing a spot in Europe. It's a
smaller goal than we are used to but we are a smaller team playing a smaller brand [...]

A lively first half has rendered a few yellow cards, a penalty kick and two goals, one by AEK's
Blanco (penalty kick in the fifth minute) and one by Xanthi's #6 (not sure who that
was). Bajevic appears to have meant what he said in his Thrasyvoulos post-match interview on
Saturday: the starting eleven is no [.

The club from Fylis who came back from a 3-0 defecit to tie AEK 3-3 earlier this season almost got
away with a another draw, this time at OAKA. However, youngster Panagiotis Tachtsidis came to the

It turns out that AKE will not be signing Argentinian Matias Lequi in the end after he refused to
undergo medical tests and was insulted by the fact that Bajevic requested he train with the club
once before anything gets signed. Oh well, it seems like this is for the better. I dont think this
is [...

AEK JUST BARELY managed to hold on and salvage a point after playing against a Larissa side which
looked to be in good form. For the first twenty minutes the game was mostly controlled by Larissa,
who attacked frequently but rarely manged to make anything of it. Around the 25th minute however,
AEK started turning things [.

The first Athens derby of the new year ended in a 0-0 draw which gave Olympiakos the chance to move
even further ahead in the standings after their 1-0 win against Asteras Tripolis. AEK started
strong and managed to keep hold of the ball for long periods of time, especially during the first
period. The most [.

Our biggest problem is composure on the pitch and discipline when marking....We lose the ball and
concede too easily....We need to be faster and more efficient, to move the ball and not look at it.

as "passing").

AEK's management decided late last night to part ways with manager Giorgos Donis after AEK's 0-0
draw at home against Panserraikos. The decision was reached by mutual agreement between Donis and
AEK management. Its unfortunate that this happened to a young Greek coach with such high ambitions
but unfortunately, under his management, AEK was not [.

I really dont know what goes on with this team. One day they put on a really poor display then,
five days later, they come back and play like the champions they are. AEK played a very good game
