Roy was all smiles on Sunday...Liverpool fell to yet another
defeat in the league on Sunday as Roy Hodgson's side got the better of the Reds. Liverpool had
chances aplenty and maintained pressure throughout the 90 minutes but they just couldn't find the
back of the net.
Liverpool started without captain Steven Gerrard who was left out as a precaution according to
manager Kenny Dalglish.

"Errr, is it too late to back out?"
It's official! Roy Hodgson has just been unveiled as the new England manager at a press
conference at Wembley. It was announced that the 64-year old has signed a four-year contract, and
will take over immediately after West Brom's final game of the season on 13th May.

With the season now drawing to a close, we thought it high time to have a little look-see at the
best of the bargain signings that have outshone their relatively meagre price tags throughout
2011/12.
Here we go, straight in at the top...

Everton's Summer 2012 Transfer Targets - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
With Everton, David Moyes has been deprived of funds for much of his time in charge. In recent
years he's had to meticulously assess players, rely on his scouts and be prepared to be imaginative
in the transfer market.
It has been an unbelievable season in the Premier League with twists and turns seemingly every
week. So it is not a surprise that as we enter the final weekend of games, that the title,
Champions League places and the relegation battle are all up for grabs.
Title Race
The two Manchester clubs are level on points but City's goal difference is eight superior to
United's, so effectively Sir Alex Ferguson's side must better City's result.
Late goals were the order of the day in England, most notably at Sunderland where Ji Dong-won's
last-gasp winner earned the home side a surprise 1-0 victory over leaders Manchester City.
Roberto Mancini's side had aspirations of fully capitalising on Manchester United's loss to
Blackburn Rovers 24 hours earlier, to establish a three-point lead at the Premier League
summit.
There are injury concerns over Scott Parker ahead of tonight's match with the Baggies but our
midfield general is just one of a host of players that Harry may take a chance on this evening.
It's thought that both Ledley King and Aaron Lennon are in with a chance of returning to the side
tonight as Harry looks to put a bit of impetus back into Spurs' league campaign.
So ‘Arry reckons he might get a bit bored managing England:
‘I enjoy the day-to-day coming in to work with players, said the media-introvert on
Radio 4 this week- going out on the training pitch every day, seeing the players.
I don't know if seeing players once every six or seven weeks.

West Bromwich Albion 1-2 Norwich City Premier League 14th January 2012
What a superb season Norwich City, newly-promoted to the top tier, are having. Finding
themselves in ninth-place, only eight points off a European place, Paul Lambert and co.

Stoke City 1-2 West Bromwich Albion Premier League 21st January 2012
West Brom secured a vital three points away at a blustery Britannia against a Stoke side who
never really got into their stride.
After Blackburn got their very own Olsson twins yesterday, we look at the best of twin team-mates
to grace English football. 1. Rafael and Fabio Da Silva Arguably English football's top-achieving
twins to date, in tag team terms. Unlike some sets of footballing twins, the talent seems to be
fairly equal between the pair.
It is a potentially critical weekend at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The games almost have a play-off theme to them – with the bottom six facing off against one
another. Blackburn Rovers host QPR, Bolton Wanderers entertain Wigan Athletic and West Brom travel
to Wolves in the Black Country derby.
I don't know what they gave the Baggies at halftime, but I bet Mick McCarthy wishes they didn't.
With the score tied 1-1 at half, WBA came out and crushed it. Like, 4 goals in a 24 minute span,
crushed it. Mick, your Kit Kat bar is in the mail. Just so you can, you know, "get away"...Video:

West Bromwich Albion 4-0 Sunderland Premier League 25th February 2012
West Brom secured their first win at the Hawthorn ssince November in a comprehensive thrashing
of in-form Sunderland.
Peter Odemwingie was the star man for the home side, bagging a brace, with one coming after just
three minutes and the second coming three minutes into the second-half.
At this point Roman Abramovich should be a snarling, frothing dervish breaking furniture and
vowing destruction on every manager not named Guus Hiddink. Moments ago Chelsea lost to the Baggies
on a solitary goal by Gareth McAuley.
We can only speculate on AVB's fate but the manager is surely closer to the exit now than he was
90+ minutes ago.

West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Chelsea Premier League 3rd March 2012
An away fixture against in-form West Brom was always going to be a tricky affair for AVB and his
misfiring Chelsea side, but the mediocre performance produced by the visitors was still somewhat
surprising.
United are 1.25 shots to beat West Brom at Old Trafford this weekend and it really should be a case
of how many they put past the Baggies. They have won nine and lost none of the 11 Premier League
meetings with Roy Hodgson's side, who to be fair come into this on the back of a good run of
results and have lost just one of their last seven games on the road.

Manchester United are 1.
Sir Alex Ferguson remained upbeat after Manchester United were beaten 3-2 at home by Athletic
Bilbao on Thursday night, but the side need to return to form and victory when they face West Brom
on Sunday. With Manchester City two points ahead of the Red Devils, a win against the Baggies at
Old Trafford is a necessity.

Everton 2-0 West Bromwich Albion Premier League 31st March 2012
David Moyes' in-form Everton side jumped above rivals Liverpool in the table, at least
temporarily, after a good performance against West Brom at Goodison Park.
Chelsea looks to move up the table, Tottenham can pass Arsenal for 3rd place, and much more in
the English Premier League on Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Sunderland v Tottenham
Spurs can move up to 3rd place with a win while Sunderland are comfortably in 9th place.
Tottenham's away form has been decent but Sunderland have 7-4-4 record in home matches.
Let's take a look at the other five games this weekend including a massive and potentially
pivotal day on Sunday:
15:00 – Norwich City v Everton
This is the only game really with nothing major riding on it for either side. Neither will go
down, neither will achieve a European place but with little pressure on, the goals could flow and
the match could produce real quality.

victory, and much more in the English Premier League on April 7, 2012.
Sunderland 0-0 Tottenham
Despite having over 70% of possession, Spurs were unable to find a breakthrough. The draw puts
Tottenham up to 3rd place but both Newcastle and Chelsea put are now within three points (were five
back before this round of fixtures).

West Bromwich Albion 3-0 Blackburn Rovers Premier League 7th April 2012
Blackburn looked to have turned the corner in recent months, following a number of decent
results, but another defeat, this time at the Hawthorns, sees Steve Kean's side slip back into the

Manchester City 4-0 West Bromwich Albion Premier League 11th April 2012
A rather decent win for City at the Etihad here, with a chunky Carlos Tevez starting his first

West Bromwich Albion 1-0 Queens Park Rangers Premier League 14th April

West Brom boss Roy Hodgson is not expecting a warm welcome when he returns to Anfield on
Sunday.
Hodgson makes his first return to Anfield this weekend since being sacked by the Reds last year
following an ill-fated spell on Merseyside.
The experienced manager was dismissed in January 2011 after just eight months in charge before
returning to management with the Baggies only 37 days later.
Liverpool will aim to improve their stuttering Premier League form when they host Roy Hodgson's
West Brom on Sunday.
The former Reds boss returns to Anfield for the first time since being sacked in January 2011,
knowing his Albion side can move within just one point of Liverpool with a win.
And there is much to encourage the Baggies given that Liverpool have just one Premier League win at
home in 2012 - and that was against an under-strength Everton side.

- Liverpool have won all five previous Premier League meetings with West Brom at Anfield without

West Bromwich Albion 0-0 Aston Villa Premier League 28th April 2012
It was never the most glamorous of ties, with Aston Villa arguably the dullest side in the top

So no need to spend the summer condemning Wolves for taking too long to appoint a manager.
No need to metaphorically burn your season ticket book in disgust at Wolves appointing a manager
from within.
And no need to spend the summer sifting through the English football baggage that would have
accompanied the appointment of a "traditional" journeyman.
