Here is a video of the missed penalty by Peter Odemwingie ( West Brom) against Manchester United.
With the match tied at 1-1, Rio Ferdinand fouled Jerome Thomas in the box, leading to a penalty for
the Baggies. However Odemwingie dragged his shot wide, and the penalty miss proved to be crucial as
Javier Hernandez [.
West Brom have one of the better runs for the next few weeks, including a great home double in week
27 against West Ham and Wolves - there should be at least a few points in it for a Baggie player or
two in this gameweek. Over the next 5 weeks, their toughest competition comes from Man City away in
week 26, but is bookended with a match against Stoke and Birmingham as well as a match against
Wigan in week 25.
This Arshavin goal vs West Brom kickstarted Arsenal's comeback in their Premier League game against
the Baggies on March 19, 2011. The Arshavin goal against WBA came in the 70th minute of the game.
Arsenal eventually drew the game 2-2 thanks to the Arshavin goal and a further strike from Robin
van Persie.

West Brom launched their brand-spanking new Adidas training range (the new kits are scheduled to
be unveiled at a later date) via their official website this morning an occasion that Peter
Odemwingie chose to mark by sporting the single foulest pair of jeans you're ever likely to
witness.
English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion has unveiled its adidas 2011/12 home and away kits
with modelling from Baggies stars Chris Brunt, Jonas Olsson, Youssouf Mulumbu, Peter Odemwingie and
Steven Reid. According to the West Brom website: Both adult shirts sport the logo of new principal
club sponsor Bodog, which will not appear on children's shirts.

Out of nothing, Chamakh and our little Russian combined in the 70th minute to score a fabulous
goal. What had gone on before the 70th minute was so unimaginative by Arsenal that not only were we
2 goals behind but it looked like there was no chance of us getting anything out of this game.

French national team manager Laurent Blanc today has been cleared of racism charges by the
French Football Federation.
Claims that Blanc had backed a project to reduce the number of ethnic minority players in the
national set-up put the Frenchman under the spotlight.
According to a report this morning, Arsene Wenger has made a £4m bid for the West Brom striker
Peter Odemwingie. Arsenal only managed to gain one point from their two games against the Baggies
this season, and the Mail says that Wenger was very impressed with his play. Wenger sees him as the
perfect backup [.
Birmingham City keeper Ben Foster could be making his way back to the Premier League if a BBC
report is correct.
West Brom is looking for a keeper after Scott Carson left and manager Roy Hodgson is thought to
favor bringing in the former Manchester United backstop.
The Blues were unable to stay in the Premier League last season with Foster as their keeper, but
they did manage a Carling Cup title.
Mark Thompson/Getty Images(Bleacher Report) After a great first season back in the Premier League,
West Bromwich Albion will be hoping to hold onto one of their key performers this season in Chris
Brunt. The Northern Ireland international established himself as the team's new captain, and under
former Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson the Baggies avoided relegation.

Reigning champs Manchester United got their title defense off to a winning start with a 2-1 win
over West Brom at the Hawthorns on Sunday.
Wayne Rooney opened the scoring, nutmegging a shot into the far corner in the 13th minute before
Shane Long pulled one back for the Baggies on his debut with a relatively tame shot trundling past
David De Gea and nestling in the inside side netting.
English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion has unveiled its adidas 2011/12 third kit. It was
worn for the first time during Saturday's exciting 2-1 loss to Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge in

A few days ago, I wrote about different ways of measuring a team's performance - either in absolute
or relative terms. Relative metrics are useful if we are interested in drilling a little deeper
into what players or teams are able to do, given the resources they have or in relation to some
other event on the pitch, not simply whether they do a lot or a little (like scoring or possessing
the ball).
Lost amid all the debates and media coverage about the respective merits of David De Gea and
Anders Lindegaard, Tomasz Kuszczak silently fades into oblivion and obscurity, left out in the cold
by Alex Ferguson and stranded at Old Trafford with his only football coming on the Carrington
training ground and in meaningless reserve matches.
According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool are allegedly interested in signing Dundee United and
Scottish under-21 midfielder Scot Allen The Mail's article, which doesn't have any quotes or
credible sources, states:"Sportsmail can reveal that Kenny Dalglish hopes to fend off competition
from the Ibrox side, Celtic and West Brom for the Scotland Under-21 cap.
Wayne Rooney ended his open field goal scoring drought when he headed home from a Patrice Evra
cross. It looked so anti-climactic after all that media space devoted to this phenomenon. But West
Brom answered back in spectacular fashion through James Morrison's lashing drive that dipped in to
beat Tomasz Kuszczak.
After opening 2011 by capturing a late (and perhaps a little lucky) win at West Brom, Manchester
United look to maintain their hold on top spot in the Premier League as they host Stoke City
tomorrow night.
Against the Baggies, United took an early lead through Wayne Rooney, who scored his first goal
from open play since March.
Call it luck, call it bias. Either way, Manchester United have enjoyed a remarkably fortunate start
to 2011. Howard Webb's two debateable, game-changing decisions that went against Liverpool at Old
Trafford were just the latest events to go United's way since the turn of the year.
Firstly came a woeful performance at West Brom on New Year's day, during which Gary Neville
escaped punishment after his trip as the last man was ignored by the referee when most thought it
should have resulted in a red card and a penalty to the Baggies.
When last we met... The Press Association: Baggies sweat on Odemwingie West Brom striker Peter
Odemwingie is continuing to battle an ankle injury ahead of the crunch Barclays Premier League
clash with Blackpool on Saturday. The Baggies will attempt to end a six-match losing streak at The
Hawthorns this weekend but they may have to do so without their leading scorer.

"We deserve success." Do you really? It is a strange saying in football as it implies that the
maintenance of the status quo – chosen clubs at the top, others always scrapping for points at
the bottom – is fair for everyone. After all, Liverpool has won 18 league titles, so for them not
to mount a strong title challenge in recent years is surely an affront to the football gods.

Di Matteo: 'Manchester City remind me of Chelsea' is a post from: Just Football
West Bromwich Albion travel to the City of Manchester Stadium to face
high-flyers Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend and WBA boss Roberto Di Matteo has
been speaking about the challenges facing his side ahead of a difficult match.
On an exciting day of Premier League action, perhaps the most one-sided game has been the
fixture between Newcastle United and Arsenal. With the Gunners leading 4-0 at the end of the first
half, little was expected from the hosts at St. James' Park following the interval.
However, the second period has already began on a positive note for the Magpies.
West Brom have sacked Roberto Di Matteo after just 19 months at the club; further
proving that football has gone mad...
The board released this statement: "Our poor sequence of results stretches back more than three
months and there has been little sign of it coming to an end".
West Brom, usually a shining example of stability and sensible management at board level, have
plunged their season into chaos by sacking their manager Roberto Di Matteo.
True, the club have been on a shocking run of 13 defeats in 18 games but as Di Matteo pointed out
via the LMA on Sunday, they haven't been in the bottom three since the opening week of the season.

Following the departure of Roberto Di Matteo, the bookmakers have installed Chris Hughton as the
betting favorite to become the next permanent West Brom manager.
A run of 13 defeats in 18 Premier League games forced the hand of those in charge of West Brom
and now the search is on for a new manager at the Hawthorns.
By Chris Wright
Word reaching Pies this morning is that West Brom are all but set to swear in Chris Hughton as
Roberto Di Matteo's replacement later today, after the former Newcastle boss held talks with the
Baggies' board last night.
The Birmingham Mail are also reporting that an unidentified 'hitch' brought a premature halt to
the negotiations, but that all parties are hopeful of ironing out any kinks by this evening.
LONDON, England — Former Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has been appointed head coach of West Brom,
the Premier League club confirmed Friday. West Brom, who fired Roberto Di Matteo earlier this week,
hired Hodgson just over a month after he was sacked by Liverpool. Hodgson, 63, was voted English
football's manager of the year last [.

Sunday features four different matches involving Premier League clubs. The first is the Black
Country derby between West Bromwich Albion, with Roy Hodgson in charge of his first match for the
Baggies, against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The next match on deck is the Fourth Round FA Cup replay
between Manchester City and Notts County at Eastlands.
BIRMINGHAM, England — Carlos Vela saved Roy Hodgson from defeat in his first match as West
Bromwich Albion manager as the Mexican striker's last-gasp goal earned a 1-1 draw against local
rivals Wolves on Sunday. Hodgson was moments away from opening his reign at the Hawthorns in the
worst possible manner as Albion trailed to [.
Liverpool's interest in bringing in natural wide men to complement their new strike pairing of Luis
Suarez and Andy Carroll has led to their interest in West Brom wide man Chris Brunt, a player they
look likely to bid for this summer.
The 26 year old left winger has been at the Hawthorns for three and a half years and a move to
Anfield will greatly interest the Northern Ireland international who may feel that the summer would
be the right time to move on, not least if the Baggies fail to avoid relegation.

Manchester United made the small jaunt south to the Hawthornes to k ick off the new year in the
English top flight. The undefeated visitors topped the league table. West Brom were near its
bottom.
Having not scored from open play since March, Rooney's first touch today brought the opening goal.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes West Bromwich Albion's lack of goal-scoring opportunities
last week shows that the Gunners dominated the Baggies and deserved to win the game. Speaking to
Arsenal TV Online, the Frenchman described the ...
