West Brom are a team that I respect. I'd even say I like them and will support them in their
quest to avoid relegation. They are a team that deserves to do well in the Premier League. I feel
this way because the Baggies are a team that tries to play football the right way. They fight hard,
but not dirty; they try to defend well, exploit set-pieces, shoot from distance – but they don't
intentionally foul goalkeepers, or kick opposition players, and their manager is not a scumbag.
T-hee-hee-shirt Notts County striker Lee Hughes was left with egg on his chin as well as marker pen
on his t-shirt as his goal celebration stunt backfired. The West Brom legend was given a torrid
time by Wolves fans on his first return to Molineux since his heyday with the Baggies. The

In the sixth round of fixtures in this Barclays Premier League season, things took quite a
shocking turn. Saturday's theme appeared to be upsets as the underdogs hit back at the expense of
their significantly more fancied counterparts.
The day's action began at Eastlands where Carlos Tevez inspired Manchester City to pick up a 1-0
win over defending champions Chelsea.
Congratulations to West Brom today after a hard fought victory against the Gooners.
Believe it or not, this is the first away win the Baggies have recorded in 19 Premier League
matches.
So it this finally the West Brom team to combat the yo-yo label that has riddled the side for
the History of the Premiership?
Wenger sees the afternoon crumble against West Brom
The plan was clear. To maximize points in the easier stretch of games before the big showdown
with Chelsea. The West Brom match was a clear opportunity to win three points. An golden
opportunity for the Gunners to vault to the top of the table following Chelsea's loss against Man
City.

Despite what the tabloids may tell you, Roberto Di Matteo is the manager for West Bromwich
Albion. However, he isn't all that different from Man City manager Roberto Mancini. Both
played for Italy (Di Matteo: 44 caps. Mancini: 36). Both played for Lazio for a solid three
seasons.
Tomorrow we travel to the Hawthorns to play newly promoted West Brom, the ultimate yo-yo club,
having been promoted or relegated from the Premier League 7 times in the last 9 seasons. I've
always liked the Baggies, mainly because even during their least successful seasons in the top
flight they've always tried to play football the way it's meant to be played.
Osaze Odemwingie has escaped the sick Racist taunts that marred his time with Lokomotiv
Moscow
West Brom fans will today display a banner in support of Osaze Odemwingie after the striker
received a sick racist taunt from ‘supporters' at his former club Lokomotiv Moscow. Baggies
fans will have a created a banner which will read "Thanks Lokomotiv".
Spurs Vs West Brom. Another low-key fixture this weekend, but perhaps with the debuts of Gallas
and Van Der Vaart for Spurs, this game had something to offer.
The match began in Spurs' favour, they dominated possession and troubled Carson early on. West
Brom were very much on the back foot for the majority of the first half, despite their home
advantage.

West Ham had the best preparation ahead of their Saturday clash with Tottenham Hotspur winning
their 3rd round Carling Cup match. The fact that it was against Premiership opponents (Sunderland)
and that the Hammers finally registered their first away win of the year will give Scott Parker and
his team mates a massive boost in confidence.
In recent years West Brom have picked up the tag as the ultimate yo-yo team, proving too good
for the Championship and not quite strong enough for the Premier League. This season under the
guidance of Roberto Di Matteo the Baggies are looking to put that name to bed and they have made
the perfect start.

Five games in to the Premier League season what have we learned? Chelsea are a class act, Man
Utd are inconsistent, Liverpool are out of the race, and David Moyes' Everton are missing a crucial
ingredient that they had last term. heading in to the weekend's matchups though, we can be sure
that many of them will not go to early season form.
Arsenal missed a trick on Saturday. It's been five trophy-less years now and fans have been
forced to realign ambitions in line with Arsene Wenger's financial prudence but going 3-0 down at
home to West Bromwich Albion is a new low, and that is meant as no disrespect to the Baggies.
In the end, of course, they retrieved two goals to add a little respectability to the scoreline,
if you can call it that but an underlining fact remains.
Today's performance was piss-poor and painful to watch. In fact I'd rather have the raging hangover
I had this morning again than watch that pile of shite. And that hangover was bad.
But I must say this, while we were worse than my Sunday morning football team, West Brom thoroughly
deserved the win.
Arsenal 2-3 W.B.A.
I have for a long time inexplicably looked out for West Brom's results, a footballing peculiarity I
can trace back to collecting Panini stickers in 1980, when theirs was the first team I had all the
stickers for. At that time, with players like Robson and Regis, they were one of the better sides
in the old First Division.
If you watched the Arsenal against West Bromwich Albion game on Saturday, you would have sworn
that the team playing in navy blue and white stripes was Arsenal and that the team in red and white
were the Baggies.
The Albion played a beautiful passing the game and featured far more creativity than
Arsenal.
Despite enjoying an impressive campaign heading into this weekend's clash with West Bromwich
Albion, Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia once again finds himself at the receiving end of
criticism.
The Spaniard was at fault for allowing Gonzalo Jara's shot slip past his gloves for the Baggies'
second goal in their shock 3-2 win over the Gunners at the Emirates.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out why West Brom has been playing so well this season. Look
no further than the Baggies' strike force.
The arrival of Peter Odemwingie at The Hawthorns has brought an incredible change to the club.
Although it's still early, all indications are that the Baggies won't be sitting at the bottom of
the table for the whole season.
