Half term is here for the respective clubs and divisions around the world. Its the time for clubs
to stock up on essential supplies and get some popcorn for the exciting last few months of the
season. These last few months are hugely significant for every single team, whether its the need to
hold on to top spot, the mad dash for the play offs, or to consolidate their spot in the league
itself.
Well it's not really a bag anymore and we're not even through to the 4th Round yet, but former
Chelsea man Paul Elliott and comedian and Baggies fans, Frank Skinner between them managed to 'bag'
Newcastle a difficult away tie should we overcome Plymouth in our 3rd Round replay. Assuming we can
beat Plymouth next week [.
This game is pretty damn huge. Sky must be delighted that a game they picked some time ago has
taken on this level of significance a real test of our still unreal-seeming push for a top two
place. The Baggies are two points ahead of us, and also have a game in hand, so [...]
Nottingham Forest continued their fine unbeaten run with a fine away win at the Hawthorns. Goals
from Forest trio Blackstock, Majewski and Chris Cohen put the County Ground side three nil up

Brilliant result for Forest at the Hawthorns and one that really backs up their promotion
credentials; Billy Davies is doing a terrific job and I really hope he takes them back to the Prem

When Billy Davies was Derby County manager in 2007, The Times described him as "an old-school
scrapper who could make copper wire from a row about a penny." Well whatever he is, its working. In
little more than a year under the guidance of the diminutive Scotsman who makes Gianfranco Zola
look like a beanstalk, Nottingham Forest are completely unrecognisable from the two-bit rickshaw of
a side they were before Davies took over - a team that won just twice in 19 league games under
Colin Calderwood and were slumped near the bottom of the league.
Newcastle United take on West Bromwich Albion in a crucial top of the table encounter on Monday
night at St James Park. With the Toon drawing the Baggies in the FA Cup 4th round, the two teams
are forced to play each other twice in the space of six days. We will be looking to extend [...]
The Baggies just about deserved to win this gripping top-of-the-table clash, as they repeatedly
exposed Newcastle's hitherto solid defence on the counter-attack. The Toon twice came back from
being a goal down, with Danny Guthrie's excellent free-kick and then a Peter Lovenkrands header
replying to goals by the impressive Jonas Olsson and Roman Bednar; Lovenkrands dedicated the goal
to his late father, who died last week.
