FFA Tech Director Han Berger had a chat with me last night about the new technical development plan put out or about to be by the FFA.
First thing that struck me is that elite sports for kids is so serious these days, and I guess Aussie football juniors are about to get a rude awakening! Maybe it's already happening in other.

WOULD YOU WEAR THIS JERSEY?

The defenders converge on Messi as he runs toward goal, but their efforts are futile. The defenders' quick feet move to tackle the ball, but Messi's feet are quicker, and with a dozen slight but perfectly timed touches at speed he threads cleanly through the defensive thicket until there is only an open net before him.

If Gary Neville ever considered changing his name, I'm sure ‘Manchester United' would be somewhere at the top of his list of choices. Not the most popular of Christian names but you just know it would suit our club captain to a tee. It is without doubt that Neville is Mr Manchester United and he literally has our great club coursing through his veins.

Believe it or not, but Paul Scholes have received an offer from Stoke to end his career with the Potters and then take over as team manager. Even though this sounds a bit sensational Scholes' transfer to Stoke is far from impossible. Manchester United legend, who is one of three Ferguson's dinosaurs, could end his playing career at Stoke if he accepts Tony Pulis's offer to become player-coach at the club.

Our Vandanel period had us embroidering each team kit with their unique badge - but we all felt club cohesion, a single kit (LAPL aside) was an identity builder.

"It's difficult to assess that because you don't know what ambitions the players have," said Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to Inside United, in reference to being able to predict which of his players would end up in management.
