One year ago today, Christian Purslow sacked Rafa Benitez and the club began its nosedive into
the abyss, descending from a stumbled-to seventh place finish towards Roy Hodgson, Joe Cole,
Christian Poulsen, and Paul Koncheskey, while backroom battles brewed and potential suitors fell by
the wayside.
Arsenal's ownership structure, unlike that of most of our competitor clubs, has been held by a
plurality of shareholders, making management by the board of directors a much more democratic
process. According to many sources, tomorrow that may all be about to change.
Everyone is reporting that "Silent Stan" Kroenke is set to launch a takeover bid.
Blackburn Rovers are fast becoming one of the most ludicrous stories in world football. A few
short weeks after firing their manager who was doing quite well, they're planning to sign a player
with a huge reputation (and ego), who plays football the way they want to be playing it. Still
managerless, Venky's London Ltd (a chicken farm company, it is suggested) that owns the club is
making a right hash of it.
After a long day of trades, drafts, and Rooney's brother, we finally can step back and see how
Toronto FC fared in yesterday's MLS SuperDraft. I'll spare you all of the minor backroom details
and get right to it: TFC picked up four new players and offloaded 2 more to continue the mass
exodus from BMO.
A few things today:
A bunch of Arsenal players played in internationals yesterday. The good news was that no one got
hurt so far as we know now (we won't know for sure until they all get back to London and check in
with team physios).
Nicklas Bendtner started and played the entire match against England.
A couple of stories today:
First, the Arsenal Supporters Trust met last night and voted unanimously to reject chairman of
the board Peter Hill-Wood's suggestion that Arsenal shareholders sell their shares to Kroenke. The
AST, which I believe holds 3 shares in its own name and manages dozens more under the fanshare
scheme, is not a major shareholder in terms of percentage of the club owned, but has been a very
active and passionate voice for Arsenal fans.
As more and more Liverpool players and staff members make their appearance on Twitter, fans
continue scramble to see what they have to say about their personal lives, life day to day at the
club and maybe even get a personal response to a question.
You can now gain an at a glance overview of what the likes of Kenny Dalglish, Luis Suarez, Dirk
Kuyt, Glen Johnson, Lucas Leiva and new recruit Charlie Adam have to say from our current LFC
players and staff Twitter Stream.

So tomorrow night AVB makes his first venture as manager into the League Cup at the third round
stage against our local rivals Fulham. Now in his press conference when he took over as manager of
the football club, he stressed the importance of trying to win all four trophies we are entered in
for this season so bear that in mind in this post.
