Former Wizards goalkeeper Kevin Hartman had an interesting run-in with new MLS star Thierry Henry
last night in Dallas. Can't find video, but after a NY goal, Hartman went to clear the ball back up
to midfield as Henry went to blast the ball into the back of the net in an NBA JAM Double-Dunk
reference.

Benny Feilhaber just cannot be stopped.
Having scored four goals in the past seven days, Feilhaber continued his tear with AGF Aarhus on
Sunday as he assisted on two goals and scored a clutch game-winner in a 3-2 victory over Koge.
For 42 minutes it was all looking so good for the first Englishman to lead a team into the
Champions League since Sir Bobby Robson eight years ago. Indeed it was all looking ‘triffic'.
Then Assou-Ekotto sliced a ball wildly and needlessly out for a throw on before deciding that,
actually, he didn't fancy getting too close to the Bremen striker who had got between King and
Cudacinni and duly put the ball into the back of the net.
The Timbers celebrate with the fans after the match, the last game at PGE Park.
A special night and a special moment, and with the stars in alignment for a momentous occasion, the
Timbers were able to pull through in truly dramatic fashion defeating Puerto Rico 1-0 Thursday
evening. On a night which marked the last soccer game to be played at PGE Park (before renovations
begin), the franchise was able to celebrate its 1 millionth fan in attendance since 2001.
The Northern Colorado women's soccer program took a big step forward Sunday, defeating The
Citadel 2-1 to win the Air Force Academy Fall Classic.
With both teams playing to a 0-0 score in the first half, the Bulldogs got on the board first
after Vanessa Aponte scored on a free kick from 25 yards out, beating 'keeper Kirstin Salminen in
the 53rd minute.
In a frenetic Friday afternoon contest, Metro State used a couple of outstanding individual
efforts and strong team play to a 3-0 victory over visiting Seattle Pacific University.
Metro State, which peppered the goal in the first two games of the season with limited results,
scored in the 10th minute through Scott Grode.
New York found a little too much space in the first half and did just enough in the second to
cut down the Colorado Rapids 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in Patterson, New Jersey.
The Red Bulls dominated all but about 10 minutes of the first half in building a 2-0 lead. Both
goals were impressive as the team with three Designated Players Juan Pablo Angel, Thierry Henry and
Rafa Marquez looked like a squad that was coming together as the playoffs approach.
Jose Mourinho, ready to win moreThe Champions League has begun, and while we are only at the group
stages, I still find it very interesting to see how teams are finding European competition. There
were plenty of interesting results in this group of matches, and as you'd expect, some ridiculous
thrashings.
After watching the Premier League games on television this past weekend, I realized that we've
now reached a monumental place in the evolution of English football. Out of the 20 clubs in the
Premier League, there's only one that plays a traditional English style of football. And that is a
huge achievement.
Dimitar Berbatov silenced all critics (including myself) in Sundays clash against Liverpool,
being the first and only player to score a hat-trick in the north-west derby since the inception of
the Premier League.
This was the second "top 4″ fixture of the year, although I find it hard to consider Liverpool
a top 4 club after last years disappointing performance, and this years horrendous start.

KATHMANDU, SEP 22 -
A hat-trick from Ganesh Lawati in quick succession gave Armed Police Force (APF) an easy 4-0 win
over newly promoted Bansbari Club on the second day of the San Miguel Knockout Football Tournament
at the Dashrath Stadium on Wednesday.
Wow. Not only did the tornado knock me offline this week; it seems to have dragged TMZ and the
Hollywood hills here with it!
We begin with Juan Pablo Angel, who was mysteriously left off of the teams
starting line up against FC Dallas. No injuries. No real explanation.
Ireland international winger Aiden McGeady was last night celebrating his first goal for
Spartak Moscow.
His 77th minute equaliser saved his team from a home defeat to Amkar Perm, with the final score
2-2. The 24-year-old's goal came when he instinctively responded to a cross and scored from the
right side of the Perm goal.
Ok, I simply don't get it. Not only do we fail to get all the Midfielders including Sneijder,
Ozil, Ireland, heck even Jack Rodwell ever linked with United in the last 2 months, but we then
let out only promising hope for a Scholes's replacement go out on a season-long loan.
Season-long!
Jamie Carragher reflected on his testimonial celebrations and admitted the day couldn't have gone
any better for him.
Liverpool stars past and present turned out to help mark the defender's 14 years in the first team
on an occasion to savour at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
The likes of Luis Garcia, Jerzy Dudek, Michael Owen, Emile Heskey, Gary McAllister and Danny Murphy
all donned the famous red jersey once again as they secured a 4-1 victory over an Everton XI.
Was Roger Milla Right when he lashed out on Cameroon captain Samuel Eto'o just before the World
Cup for being more committed to his club than his country? I don't know about you but i sometimes
question the moral standing of Africa's so called stars. May be Milla crossed the line but hey,
being La Liga top scorer on more than one occasion and not replicating that with your country is
bound to raise some eyebrows.
The 18th-ranked Colorado School of Mines men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season
posting a 1-0 victory over the reigning National Champion, Fort Lewis College Skyhawks on Friday
afternoon at the CSM Soccer Stadium.
The win snapped Fort Lewis' 21-game winning streak dating back to Sept.

MINNEAPOLIS. Three Minnesota women's soccer players earned recognition on Monday after the
Gophers tallied three wins last week including a 2-1 victory over No. 14 San Diego to win the
Minnesota Gold Classic. Senior midfielder Molly Rouse and sophomore goalkeeper Cat Parkhill were
named the Big Ten Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Miroslav Klose Scores Two And Lays On Two More As Germany Storm Passed Azerbaijan.
Joachim Loew's Germany side never had to get out of second gear against a very physical but very
poor Azerbaijan team. Goals from Heiko Westermann, Lukas Podolski, Holger Badstuber, a double from
Miroslav Klose and an own-goal from Rashad Sadygov capped a very easy performance for Die
Mannschaft.
The result was never really in doubt as the gulf in footballing ability was obvious, with
Kevin Kilbane, Kevin Doyle and Robbie Keane all finding the back of the net for Ireland in their
second European qualifier against Andorra in Dublin last night.
But Andorra may have won over a few critics with their combative display, and they even managed to
notch a goal of their own through Christian Martinez's thunderbolt.
Game Summary:
Stephenson 6′ Goal
Hernandez 41′ Yellow Card
Glen 45+1′ Yellow Card
Davis 45+2′ Goal
Robinson 66′ Yellow Card
Geovanni 64′ Goal
Cronin 84′ Red Card

Sometimes a tie feels like a win.
An extremely interesting few games were played out, and they show a few things about the team
which might win the scudetto. Inter Milan, Roma, and AC Milan all played out their second match-day
games, and while the nerazzurri won, the other two title contenders lost.
Inter Milan didn't have too much difficulty against Udinese, they played at the San Siro, and
they were in front by the seventh minute.
Arsenal maintained their unbeaten start to the season Saturday with an impressive 4-1 victory
against Bolton Wanderers. It was a wonderful match to watch, but you wouldn't know the complete
story of how magical it was by watching the official highlights from the Premier League.
First, go ahead and watch the official highlights (see video above; be sure to expand the view
so you can watch the highlights in full-screen) which is 2 minutes and ten seconds of "the best
parts" from the game.

CARY, NC (Friday, September 3, 2010) – The Carolina RailHawks (10-8-7, 37 pts) topped Crystal
Palace Baltimore (6-14-6, 24 pts) 3-0 on Friday night. Goals from Daniel Paladini, Allan Russell
and newcomer Tom Heinemann were enough to earn the RailHawks a resounding home win.
OK, so we have come to the end of a very intense college soccer pre season campaign. This
involved practicing two times a day plus playing 4 pre season games.
We start our regular season schedule this week.
Pre season was a success for us. In terms of numbers we won 2 and lost 2. That does not sound
impressive, however the performances of the team as a whole plus individual players really were
very good.
Little Magician Marko Marin Shines As Werder Bremen Fail To Win.
Bundesliga big-boys Werder Bremen hosted English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, who
notoriously broke the ‘Top Four' trend in England last season which had previously consisted of
Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool consecutive top four league finishes
consecutively for the past seven years.
Attacking Midfielder Jan Rosenthal Puts His Side 1–0 Up Against Frankfurt.
A resilient Freiburg side, who have now racked up three straight wins, came out of Frankfurt
with a 1–0 result that they will be very content with. Freiburg's ability to be able to grind out
a result is really an asset for a side that were expected to fight relegation this term.
Patrick Helmes Could Well Be Germany's First Choice Striker In The Euros In 2012.
Leverkusen have just completed the signing of young striker Andre Schuerrle, who will join the
club the day the summer transfer window opens at the end of the season. At Leverkusen already, are
three well established Bundesliga strikers.
Clinical Pogrebnyak Hits Three As Stuttgart Rout Gladbach.
Saturday's Bundesliga matches were laced with goals and filled with action. Wolfsburg and
Stuttgart finally got themselves their first points of the season with impressive home wins, and
Bayern Munich continued their poor run of form with a 0–0 draw against Koln.
Sunderland hit-man Darren Bent is taking advice from Premier League living legend Andrew
Cole.
It came as a surprise to many that despite his 25 goals last season, Bent missed out on the
opportunity to represent England in the 2010 World Cup. Let's be honest though... England could
have used some goal scoring this past World Cup tournament.
Dimitar Berbatov has reflected on his match winning performance against Liverpool, where he
became the first United player to score a hattrick against our hated in rivals in over 60
years.
"It was probably my best day in a United shirt," said Berbatov. "Obviously I am
happy. I am going home with a smile on my face.
While the Serie A looks to return to normality with Inter Milan near the top, Spain's La Liga is
looking competitive, and in the EPL Chelsea is running away four points ahead of second-placed
Arsenal. The Bundesliga looks very interesting with Bayern Munich ninth, seven points behind first
placed Mainz 05, and the Ligue 1 looks very complicated with plenty of teams fighting for the
title.
The Adams State College women's soccer team trailed early, but goals from freshman Shelby Janz
and junior Jessica Hellweg allowed the Grizzlies to overcome the early deficit and claim their
first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory of the season 2-1 over Colorado Christian
University on Sunday.
A late Nacho Scocco thunderbolt from the best part of 35 meters out, salvaged AEK 2-2 draw
tonight at the OAKA.Our performance could be best described as mediocre,as the team only played
"football" for 35 out of the 90 minutes.
Bajevic made afew changes to the team that accounted for Hajduk Split during the week.
Today MLS made two rulings on plays from this past week's game between New York and Dallas. Both
plays have big repercussions on this coming weekend's game for the Wizards against FC Dallas. First
of all, the most talked about incident from the game this past week, the incident between Thierry
Henry and Kevin Hartman after New York had scored to tie the game 1-1.
The Serie A has produced another slate of interesting results, and with even more on the way
this midweek, the table positions are beginning to fix themselves. If you're interested in reading
about how AC Milan and Fiorentina did at home (not well) in their two matches, you can click here,
but please read on to find out five interesting things to note from Serie A this weekend
1.
So far, Carlo Ancelotti has had it easy this season. The only times he has risen off his
manager's chair is to celebrate the blitzkrieg of goals his Blues have been putting in the back of
the net. The Premier League champions have 5 wins out of 5 with a whopping goal difference of
+20.

Yes, the marquee match of the week is taking place at the Home Depot Center Friday night, but in
Fantasy MLS circles, much should be focused on the teams playing two matches this week. FC Dallas,
Kansas City, Houston and New England each play twice in Week 26, with the first three teams
deserving your attention.
