Remember when Ante Razov was dropping hat tricks like he was a magician? Me neither. Seems like
ages since the guy has played yet he's only been retired...wait. Is he retired? Where the hell is
Ante Razov?
Kristine Lilly is often referred to as the USA's Iron Woman, and for a good reason. Not only has
she played in 342 matches for the USA (the most capped player on the world) and scored 129 goals in
her national team career, but she has played on both professional leagues that have existed in the
US and she has done it all over the course of more than 20 years (her first international
appearance was in August 3, 1987).
The U.S. Open Cup just got interesting y'all. One of my all-time favorite rivalries, the
Portland-Seattle beef, is getting trotted out one last time before the Timbers join the Sounders in
MLS next season; somewhere in downtown Portland, a Timbers ticket sales rep is dreaming of the fat
commission check this game is sure to bring him.
Well, look at the big brain on some of those wise guys over at Soccer America Magazine!

A few words on sorting out the nutrient rich analysis from the empty
calorie reporting
I generally don't subscribe to "good old days syndrome.
In case you didn't know T.Dot fans, your coach used to be a baller.
DaMarcus Beasley with hair & a job playing ball in an American league. Jamar Beasley with blonde
hair and a job playing ball in an outdoor American league. Bobby Convey wearing number 15 and
looking not a day older. Marco Etcheverry rocking an absolutely glorious mullet. The year was 2001.
Happy late morning to you all. Sorry for the delay in posting but I just got back from Niketown for
the unveiling of the new home U.S. kit which you've probably already seen on the interwebs. As is
now customary for The Swoosh, the event was slick and their were a couple of good hooks to get the
non-fashion writers out there for clothing-related event.
Obviously, for a football snob like myself, even the best televised football is a poor substitute
for watching a couple of Scottish lower league sides playing kick and rush on a muddy pitch, but I
have to say I enjoyed that World Cup. More than any other since 1994, at least, though admittedly I
didn't watch so much of the last couple.
Just watched this Clint Mathis video and I'm feeling all nostalgic and whatnot for days gone by.
This song goes back with me a little further than Cleetus but it's just a classic for me. If you
grew up being miserable and wearing black in Texas, SoCal, Long Island or Germany in the 90's you
loved this band.
I'm going to be blunt Qualifiers bore me. It doesn't feel right, i get so uneasy going from
Saturday on to Sunday with absolutely no football, its the golden rule football on a Saturday or a
Sunday. Back in the day(a few years ago) international breaks atleast still meant the
internationals themselves took place on Saturday afternoons, and Men around Europe didn't drive
themselves crazy at the weekend.
Are you a Bay Area resident who likes soccer and the 70's but aren't afraid of angry,
drumstick-wielding geriatrics yelling at you? Well then, may I suggest you order the The Power of
Heritage on DVD? What's that you say? You can't spare the paper "in these tough economic times™."
Fine, then watch something similar to it on Facebook here and here.
If you've hung out at TOR for more than a minute you may recall a couple of jokes being made at the
expense of one Taylor Twellman. I've made my funnies --even a few I may regret-- but I'm going to
give him props for the speech he spit at his retirement party yesterday. Dude spoke from the heart,
was humble enough to let Steve Nicol interrupt him on the mic and (most importantly) at no point
sounded like he was reading a brief, prepared statement.
