I spend much time discussing football with fans of other teams. Inevitably we play the "but he
would never play in our team "game, and this could be the first of "How many Arsenal players would
get in ......... first team"?
Let us look at the current leaders of the PL, Man Utd, taking what I believe to be Mr Wenger's
first choice 11 v Aaron's view of the SAF's first choice.

Man Shitty and Anti-football go hand-in-hand
In what was deemed to be a top-of-the-table clash between two of English football's current
front-runners, it turned out to be a faux pas of sorts. Pundits, punters & general public like you
and me, all had huge expectations from the game.
Arsene Wenger has had 41 days of the transfer window to bolster Arsenal's squad, yet just three
days until the start of the Premier League and six until their Champions League qualifier against
Udinese, he has failed to address any of the important issues facing his team.
With Arsenal's monumental implosion at the business end of last season, much was made of their
need to purchase experienced players with the mental grit to set an example to the horde of
talented youngsters in the squad.
Guess what? Sagna joined twitter! All you technophobes are probably rolling your eyes... well
pick them up off the floor already and listen up. Having any of our players on twitter is great
because we get to hear directly from them about their lives, their matches, and all the other
behind the scene goodies.
Ahead of their game against Manchester United today, Bacary Sagna has admitted he is embarrassed
to be a part of this Arsenal team that have gone six years without winning a trophy.
Captain Cesc Fabregas is likely to finally leave, after being denied his dream move to Barcelona
last season, and Sagna says he doesn't blame him for wanting to leave.
Shocking stuff to begin with this morning! Paul Merson is on the back of The Sun.
Might I be so bold as to venture that the club were injecting him with his own recycled piss,
such was its combination of nutrients and boozeohol that down the years it had developed into a
kind of elixir?
For an oversea Gooner like me, once a while Dennis Bergkamp decides that I should get rewarded.
The last time that happened was in 2005, when Arsenal won their last major trophy. Yesterday the
throngs of South East Asian Gooners and I was rewarded again. Arsenal was in town and I was not
going to miss this for anything.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, Arsenal's Kieran Gibbs, Tomas Rosicky and Bacary Sagna were pleased
with the first game of pre-season as the three were full of praise for the local fans. Tomas
Rosicky Definitely, [good to be ...
Arsene Wenger has talked a lot about tackling. Invariably the discussion gets hijacked by
clueless hacks and pundits who convert that into an Arsenal V Rest of the League debate and take
pride in highlighting one or two poor tackles by Arsenal players.
According to a number of morons who have the privilege of influencing public opinion, Arsenal
are just as bad as any other team when it comes to tackling.
Before I begin, I just want to take the opportunity thank everyone who sent me supportive emails
over the last couple of weeks. I'm sorry I wasn't able to reply to everyone individually. The
Gooner empire is going through a difficult period and everyone has their own way of dealing with
it. There was a time when I got actively involved in the discussions but now it seems pointless to
go through the same arguments over and over again.
This is going to be a pretty short one, but I'll plan to get a longer blog up sometime tomorrow
for us to chew on. Brenton is currently on vacation, and JG is currently packing for a three week
trip to Peru. I hear it's nice this time of year. Anyway, I think JG will have something up around
Thursday, after he arrives there.
Manager Arsene Wenger confirmed that Arsenal will today face Liverpool without injured Abou Diaby,
Jack Wilshere, Johan Djourou, Armand Traore, Kieran Gibbs and Tomas Rosicky. The Frenchman declared
that Thomas Vermaelen, Bacary Sagna or Carl Jenkinson ...

Arsenal beat Leeds 3-1 to move to the fourth round of the FA Cup. Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna and
Robin van Persie were the Arsenal scorers, and the Gunners will now play Huddlesfield on Jan. 30 at
Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal got off to a dream start when Nasri scored his 14th goal of the season after only five
minutes.
This was Arsene Wenger's description of our performance.
We had both a good result and a good performance. We had quality in our attitude, spirit and
focus.
Yes, in the end of the day it is the result that matters but on this day, we got all the
concoction right.

Morning to you, the end of another working week. Unless you've got to do blogging at the weekend
which, I suspect, many of you don't. Not that I'm complaining. The internet is a 24 hour truck stop
and I'm merely the chunky-legged waitress who has seen it all. Watch where you put your hands,
mister, and don't complain that there's ash in your soup.
Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna is having one of his best seasons at Arsenal but speaking to Arsenal
TV Online, the right back admitted the last two seasons were very disappointing. Named in the PFA

The Gunners battled back from a controversial goal, and exploited two defensive assignment
miscues to scrape out a 2-1 victory against visiting Everton.
Starting Formations
ARSENAL START FORM: In the absence of injured winger Samir Nasri, Arsene Wenger gave Tomas
Rosicky a rare start on the left wing.
It's getting a bit boring and quiet around here during international break. That must be why I
started a giant argument on twitter yesterday. Checking the twitter timeline from last night, I
also see that Martin has safely landed in Las Vegas for a few days of debauchery completely
unrelated to the Arsenal.

Here's a quick round-up of yesterday's international matches, featuring 2 Gunner captains:
*All matches below were part of UEFA Euro 2012 Qualifying
Hungary 0 Netherlands 4: Pretty routine win for the Oranje. RvP played a full
90 minutes and got himself a goal and an assist on Kuyt's goal.

I hope that clip of Cesc in the new Spanish film Torrente 4 has you prepared for the
randomness that will be today's blog post.
What better place to start than on Arsenal goalkeepers? Jens Lehmann made his triumphant Arsenal
return with the Reserves team who played Wigan today.

Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna confessed it is "embarrassing" to be part of a team who hasn't won
anything for six straight years. The right-back is quoted as saying by The News of the World that

Such is the dissatisfaction with this current season many fans are looking ahead to the summer
already. Last night a flurry of Twitter based rumour involving Karim Benzema had people more
excited than when we beat Barcelona.
Personally, I have no idea if we're interested in Benzema but with two games still left to play
this season it's too early to start driving yourselves mad over possible arrivals and
departures.
So, in the wake of the the meeting the whole thing has gone transfer crazy now.
Firstly, Lille confirmed that we were to 'have talks' with Gervinho and that we were the
player's preferred destination. Until he talks to Man City and they offer him two spaceships.
This morning The Mirror links us to a raft of players under the headline 'Arsenal will
spend £30MILLION on stars to stop fan backlash'.
Limbering up for the next challenge
Normally that would mean that the team is flying. Not necessarily in a physical form but in
terms of form, confidence and results. A good continuous run of positive results would probably
equate to a team in flying condition. In this instance, I'm referring "full flight" to the numbers
and quantity.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has warned Olympiakos that breaking the Gunners' long-standing
unbeaten streak at home will be an uphill task for the Greek giants.
Arsene Wenger has led the Gunners through a brilliant spell during which they have gone
undefeated at home during the Group Stage since 2003 and Ramsey believes that the squad can take
tremendous confidence from playing at the Emirates.
Laurent Koscielny has no problem helping ease Arsenal's injury crisis by playing at full-back,
claiminghis friends have grown so accustomed to seeing him in the position that they have started
calling him the "white Cafu".
Arsenal head to Aston Villa without any recognised full-backs after a spate of injuries denied
Arsene Wenger the services of Kieran Gibbs, Andre Santos, Bacary Sagna and Carl Jenkinson.
Arsenal were left frustrated as Manchester City parked the bus at the Emirates and took a
goalless draw back up North to stay second.
There is usually plenty of needle when these two meet thanks to the Emmanuel Adebayor
connection, but the Togolese striker was nowhere near the Emirates tonight.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Bacary Sagna's straight red against Manchester City was
harsh adding how he's yet to take a decision on a possible appeal. The Frenchman was sent off
together with Pablo Zabaleta after ...
The agonizing miss
Arsenal failed to keep up pace with Manchester United as we can only managed a draw against
fellow title contender, Manchester City at home. It was two points drop rather than a point gained.
A fact that is apparent in the zero shots on target that City could mustered and the totally
negative tactics which Roberto Mancini brought to the Grove.
You have to love living in the internet age. Never have we been more connected with people
around the world and never have we been able to have such immediate access to information. Of
course this means that we also have the ability to share our thoughts in real time and let our
opinions be known to so many more people.

around the world and never have we been able to have such immediate access to information. Of

Right then, hopefully we've managed to put the tedium of Man City behind us now. I know quite a
few people justified their approach yesterday with sensible, logical arguments, and that's what's
brilliant about football. It's a game of opinion and if we all thought the same way then it'd be
very boring indeed.
Arsenal 0 Man City 0
First things first, although the score was the same, this was clearly a very different match from
when we played City at home last year - we created chances, and it was only through luck that City
didn't concede in the first half.
And of course turning up and playing like that is boring, and one can make any number of
heavy-handed jokes about what an expensive bus it was to park, but the bottom line is, they came
away with a draw.

A couple of other stories going on today, after the jump:
First, Bacary Sagna has admitted to feeling "hatred" for Pablo Zabaleta after the incident last
week which saw both men red-carded. Sagna is quoted as saying:
"I have been having to take kicks from opponents for a good many weeks without referees cracking
down on them.
