Arsenal have named seventy players in their squad list to the FA, and none of the 20 are English:

Manuel Almunia, Andrey Arshavin, Nicklas Bendtner, Marouane Chamakh, Gael Clichy, Denilson, Vassiriki Abou Diaby, Johan Djourou, Emmanuel Eboue, Lukasz Fabianski, Cesc Fabregas, Laurent Koscielny, Vito Mannone, Samir Nasri, Tomas Rosicky, Bacary Sagna, Alex Song, Robin Van Persie, Thomas Vermaelen, Sebastien Squillaci.

All 20 clubs had to submit a squad of up to 25 players containing no more than 17 players who do not qualify as homegrown.

Homegrown players are classed as players who "irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months prior to his 21st birthday".

The final list of players registered for the new Premier League season came out yesterday and there were a whole host of questions being asked about Arsenal's list, not least a paper which said our list was a farce. Before we go through the rights or wrong, here's the list.

Wenger sees the afternoon crumble against West Brom

The plan was clear. To maximize points in the easier stretch of games before the big showdown with Chelsea. The West Brom match was a clear opportunity to win three points. An golden opportunity for the Gunners to vault to the top of the table following Chelsea's loss against Man City.

So we've finally come to the our start of the Champions League campaign and I'm excited. Then again I'm always excited whenever there is an Arsenal game. Arsene Wenger says we are 1 of 10 clubs that are capable of lifting the trophy and frankly I agree with him on 9 of those teams (you know the one I don't agree).

Whether they're man marking the opposition's left sided attacking winger or bombing up and down the flank conducting intelligent overlapping runs in support of their right sided midfielder, the modern day right sided full back is an integral part of a team's make up. Although not a glamour position like that of his brother the winger, a solid right back can add dimensions to a side bereft of natural width or a side facing a dangerous wing attack.

What's to say about a result where you're comfortably outplayed by a team which will probably flirt with relegation? Particularly, because as I heard somebody say outside the stadium, if we had scored in stoppage time to get a draw it would have been an absolute travesty.
