Jozy Altidore vs Mexico
The U.S. Men's National Team faces Canada at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, June 3, at BMO Field in Toronto
in what is the third game of an 18-day stretch. U.S. head coach Jurgen Klinsmann is managing the
squad as if it were participating in a five-game tournament. This game marks the first time since
November of 1997 that the USA is facing Canada north of the border.
So, I'm back. Ish. Baby steps, everyone.
Here's a short, short post to start me back on the road to wellness. The road that will leads to
St. Totteringham's Day.
Anyway, here we are, April 2nd, a few short weeks away from the end of the season but three long

This 'ere is Mr and Mrs Han, a newlywed couple from Singapore, and this is the story of how
Liverpool FC bought two lonely soles together and into blissful matrimony with one another on the
other side of the planet:

Philly native Dan Borislow continues to show he has absolutely no shame or class by pushing for
his Florida club to play friendlies this season while the rest of WPS had to cancel their season
because of legal battles with Borislow.

In the past few years, the long-running Football Manager series has been more revolutionary than
evolutionary. We've seen the advent of the 3D match engine, touchline shouts and Match Analysis
that would make even the blokes over at Opta sweat.
If you're reading this, congratulations—it means you can access the blog while many people,
including Ed, are instead being redirected to the Offside front page. This is an unintended side
effect of the our ongoing move to SBN's software and network as we take baby steps towards becoming
the first blog to have their platform dropped on top of the current site instead of the more usual
method of migrating to a new home.
Another draw is in the books, except this ain't just any old draw. This is the record tying
draw. I'm sure FC Dallas is pulling for us to get another draw so they can only have one season
with that infamous record (and at least they can always say "MLS Cup Participants!" after that
record is referenced).
Last year around this time, when the Union lined up Celtic FC and Manchester United a week
apart, the break from the MLS regular season seemed a welcome one. Philadelphia was sputtering in
the middle of its inaugural campaign, the baby steps they had been making beginning to take their

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has admitted he's dreaming of a coaching return to Anfield in the
future.
The former England international, who recently returned to the country as a forward coach with
Milton Keynes Dons and Bury, is currently taking his UEFA badges in an effort to extend his career
within the game.
Is this the most anticipated shirt sponsor in recent memory? One would certainly think so. After
years of nothing, then a few of UNICEF, Barca bowed to the modern game and club accountants by
finally succumbing to The Money. Would it soil the shirt? Would the identity of Barca's kit be
unrecognizable?
Enter 2011, and exit 2010 and another decent, but somewhat forgettable U.S. World Cup campaign.
So far, I am left with many questions and few answers as the U.S. National team looks forward to
the Gold Cup beginning in June. Just which USA team is going to show up for the Gold Cup in
June? Will it be the team that beat Spain in 2009 at the Confederations Cup (yes, I know that the

Sign of the future?
With the majority of Toronto FC's management staff, both new and old, gathered at the MLS Combines,
we ponder if future pre-seasons will devote as many resources to the league's SuperDraft. Since
Aron Winter and his "Oranje Revolution" cohorts were named to lead TFC into the future,
the words most heard have been "youth", "academy", "philosophy" and "development".
Goddamnit.
I don't want to say my expectations were high. They certainly weren't. But there was a belief
nestled inside my beautiful skull that there would be something to grab hold of today at Stamford
Bridge. Some concrete evidence that would suggest we were on the mend and on the up.
