A man from Southend has been remanded in custody, accused of murdering an eight-week-old baby from Shoeburyness.
Thomas Smith, who's 24 and from Fernbrook Avenue, appeared before magistrates in the south Essex town, accused of killing baby Chantelle Pilkington.
He is believed to be Chantelle's father.
