Normally, Soccernet's graphics are infuriating, often incorrect or unhelpful. But comparing the
average position of Liverpool's starting XI in Saturday's match to last March's 3-0 win is a
perfect encapsulation of the tactical differences between last season's team and the current
version.

The Reds face league two side Northampton Town tonight at Anfield and Roy should surely be looking
to do well in this competition with the realisation that the Premier League for Liverpool this
season is more than out of reach. It would be nice however to see a mixture of youngsters play
tomorrow but also a [.

This is tomorrow's team according to one of the "in the know" posters on RAWK – one that's almost
always correct.
Liverpool kick off the group stage tomorrow night at Anfield.
I'm a little out of sorts today after an hour and a half at the walk-in clinic, I feel confident
in saying that I left with more than just the bronchitis with which I entered.
But it's good fortune for me that the Europa League is upon us, because the trend of me not
knowing sh*t about the opposition continues.
Reina
Kelly Kyrgiakos Agger Konchesky
Spearing Meireles
Maxi Cole Babel
Ngog
Goals:
Cole 1'
Tanase 13'
Ngog 55' (pen) 90+1'
Lucas 81'
Scoring four should be cause for a Mardi Gras-esque celebration, complete with nudity and dancing
in the streets, considering Liverpool's goal return so far this season.

Well, what a start...and what a finish to the first 30 seconds at Anfield!
It has to be mentioned, that Joe Cole opened his Anfield account with a sublime finish inside
the first minute, after a mistake from the Steaua centre half, but I want to concentrate on the
midfield that was on show last night.
Kickoff from Old Trafford at 13:30 GMT, 7:30 EST.
Ways to Watch:
Match televised live on Sky Sports 1(HD) in the UK and Fox Soccer Plus(HD) in the US.

3pm ET. Not on live in the US. In fact, I don't know if it's on live anywhere. And if there are no
streams, there'll be no match review. Sorry. I honestly expect to have to listen to this game
through BBC Radio.

This won't be a standard review, because of its tardiness and as I'd imagine everyone's seen the
wrist-slitting/condemnation/schadenfreude by now.

so who do you think should start upfront against Sunderland?

Hodgson's named a strong squad for tomorrow's match; only Gerrard and Agger are missing from the
"first XI" – if we can say that Agger's still a first-team regular.
