Hello readers.
I refrained from writing about the title race until it was done and dusted and there's plenty to
talk about, from pre-season predictions to key battles where the title was won and of course, what
the future holds for the 'big' teams.
Pre-season Predictions
What a joke!
A reader once said my posts are void of controversies. I guess the ice has just broken.
Here's another one
I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the Arse fans who sent in their appreciation of
my post. Buoyed by their response I would like to give them back a second installment of my
thoughts on yesterdays match.

Liverpool made hard work of it for far too long, but it ends 4-0, just like in the reverse fixture.
Are we sure there's no way for Burnley to avoid relegation?
Despite only just completing his first season in the red shirt of Liverpool, Alberto Aquilani
has never been short of speculation surrounding him about a move back to Italy.
Napoli are the latest side to be linked with a loan move for the player, who has taken time to
overcome the ankle injury he arrived with as well as suffering from a number of viruses once his
fitness had returned.
Normally, Soccernet's graphics are infuriating, often incorrect or unhelpful. But comparing the
average position of Liverpool's starting XI in Saturday's match to last March's 3-0 win is a
perfect encapsulation of the tactical differences between last season's team and the current
version.

Liverpool currently sit 18th in the league with their worst start to a season 57 years:
What the hell has gone wrong? Here are six reasons...
1) The World Cup hang-over :- Many of the liverpool squad had terrible summers.
Agger crashed out with Denmark, Carragher, Gerrard, Johnson and Cole were poor for England.

So much for no winter break in English football.
After the massive disappointment of losing out on Chris Smalling, when Man Utd trumped Arsenal's
offer for the youngster, Arsene Wenger must be feeling hard done by today. Smalling was due at Old
Trafford for his medical this morning, and if all went okay he is probably signing a contract at
Old Trafford as we [.

Liverpool's visit to Romania ended up in them scoring a sum of three goals for the first time
since September last year. A relief after one of the dull matches of this season at Eastlands.
Although a lot of interest is generated towards City after their FA cup exit at this post, lets
take a ride with some of the fun filled Europa moments from yesterday night.
Babel lofted the clearance from deep inside Liverpool's half. The ball somehow latched on to
Torres' homing beacon. The defender let it bounce. Torres ate it up like a starved Bengal tiger.
He kept the other defender just at bay, picked his moment and flicked the ball over the sliding
keeper.
Losing to Manchester United was hardly a good end to what had otherwise been a good week for
Liverpool.
It's always desperately disappointing to go down at Old Trafford – particularly after what we did
there last season. But there's just too much at stake now for Liverpool's players and fans to dwell
on it.
I have been experiencing some extreme levels of mood swingings of late, courtesy of the club I
follow. Infact, It was that day when Steve Bruce's head rolled on to the pitch from the hands of a
bewitched supporter and scored a goal against us. It was about that time the spate of injuries
kicked off.
What did I say about my constant mood swingings. Coming from the back of a flamboyant victory
against Sunderland, I for once finally came to a conclusion that the team has turned the corner. We
have already discussed to death on how Liverpool are better off going forward than their overtly
cautious approach.
After today's very disappointing draw at home to Fulham, people have been calling for wholesale
changes to the team in the close-season. Torres, Carra and now Benitez have been calling for £60
to £80 million to be reed up by the club to buy new players. Yes, I would to see a David Villa,
Silva, Aguero or a Ribery or two at the club, but its just not going to happen.

Had you told me this would be a match-up of the last two English teams in European competition, I'd
have laughed right in your face.
I was such a big fan of the 4-2-3-1 with Gerrard as a second striker/in a free role because it
seemed to get the best of out Gerrard and Torres. That and it led to Liverpool nearly winning the
league. But after how this season's gone, we rightfully have to wonder if that's consistently
possible without Alonso.

Let me take you back to the end of last season.....
We had a good season in which we ran the old rivals Man Utd close to the Premier League title;
and it was time to start making plans for next season.

For those Liverpool fans upset at this weekend's loss to Chelsea, I say 'What are you upset
about?'. The loss that Liverpool have just experienced, has ironically just ensured that their long
term rivals Manchester United will fail to win a 19th Premier League title this season, overtaking
Liverpool's 18.
