Aziz Yildirim, Fenerbahce's president and the most prominent name amongst the 93 arrested on
charges of match fixing finally had his day in court this week. At least 19 first and second
division matches in the Turkish Lig are said to be fixed.
Turkish prosecutors investigating a match-fixing scandal in Turkey are expected to file
indictments on Monday against 93 suspects, including the chairman of champions Fenerbahce.
More than 30 players and officials, including the Fenerbahce chairman, Aziz Yildirim, have been in
jail pending trial, since the scandal broke over the summer, forcing the Turkish Football
Federation to delay the start of the season by a month.

The most notable arrest in the match fixing probe sweeping the Turkish league has been that of
Aziz Yildirim, the chairman of league champions Fenerbahce. Almost 100 people have been taken into
custody throwing the future of next season into doubt.
Trabzonspor chairman arrested.......
Turkish police detained 22 people including the chairman of Trabzonspor Sadri Sener on Monday, in a
widening match-fixing investigation which has already put 26 people in jail pending trial.
The detention of Trabzonspor's Sadri Sener in Istanbul came just hours after the chairman of
Fenerbahce, Aziz Yildirim, was remanded in custody on charges of match-fixing and forming a
criminal organisation.

60 people have been detained as part of a major investigation into alleged fixing within Turkish
