The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Azerbaijan kicks off today, and this video narrative does a pretty incredible job of describing the profile of a female footballer today.

The U.S. Men's National Team's 2014 FIFA World Cup Qualifier match against Jamaica on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, has sold out. Nearly 24,000 spectators will be on hand to watch the U.S. at the home of Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew, marking the fifth sellout for MNT matches played at the stadium.

Russia, England, Belgium, Ireland, Bosnia, Hungary, Netherlands, France, Germany, and Portugal all won in UEFA World Cup Qualifying on September 7, 2012.

U.S. U-17 WNT goalkeeper Jane Campbell is featured in a video on SI.com this week, and in the magazine, as a Future Game Changer.

Campbell, who will help lead the USA into the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup later this fall in Azerbaijan, is the top young goalkeeper in the United States and apparently has had some high goals since she was eight.

The U.S. Under-14 Boys' National Team had a busy two-day slate of scrimmages last week at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

After playing Chivas USA's Academy team to a 3-3 draw and Fram Sportsklubben to a 5-2 loss last Thursday, May 17, the U-14s rebounded with two wins on Saturday, May 19 – a 3-0 victory against CZ Elite FC and a 5-0 win against the San Diego Sockers.

Now the U.S. players focus on perhaps the most important game of their young careers so far, a match-up with Group A runner-up Panama on Thursday, May 10 at 2:30 p.

The U.S. U-17 WNT has qualified for the semifinal round at the 2012 CONCACAF U-17 Women's Championships, but there is much more work to be done in this tournament, starting with a match against Mexico on May 7 in the Group B finale, the winner of which will finish first in the group and earn a semifinal match with the second place team from Group A.

The U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team kicks off the 2012 CONCACAF U-17 Women's Championship on Thursday, May 3, when it faces the Bahamas (3 pm CT) in what will be the first-ever match for a U.S. WNT against the island nation. The USA will continue Group B play against Trinidad & Tobago on Saturday, May 5 (3 pm CT), and finish the first round against Mexico on Monday, May 7 (5:30 pm CT).

The U.S. U-17 WNT takes its first step, hop and/or jump onto the field together (sort of) as they begin their official stadium training (you only get one hour) and their journey that will hopefully end at the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Azerbaijan...

Unless Spurs take the unlikely step of loaning Steven Caulker out to a Championship side once the relevant window is open, the centre half is set for a full season at White Hart Lane. The U-17 Women's World Cup kicked off in Azerbaijan over the weekend with a flurry of festivities including Jennifer Lopez's opening performance and many high-scoring matches. Shakira is set to close the tournament later this month, hopefully!

The Uruguayan girls (above) started their campaign on a dismal note with a 0-5 loss to Ghana, while fresh from their opening 0-5 loss to Japan, Brazil defeated Mexico 1-0, with a goal by Byanca in the 82nd minute (promptly celebrated with the heart sign!

When the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup kicks off on Sept. 22, it will be an historic moment for women's football and for the country of Azerbaijan. It will be the first-ever FIFA Women's World Cup championship held in a predominantly Muslim country and hosted by a team that just a few years ago didn't exist.

The crowds are of course usually small at the CONCACAF qualifying events for youth women, but the parents of this current U.S. U-17 team deserve some kudos for making it not seem that way.

Although the majority of the parents didn't arrive until the USA's third group game, they brought with them American flags, horns, face paint, loud voices, tons of energy and some serious coordinated cheering.

The left-footed wonder hasn't exactly lit up the Allianz during his brief stint there, but he's got some skills and skills will go a long way in a place like China. A really long way all the way to the bank and back a few times.

And Danijel is perfectly happy with that, saying proudly, "It's all about the money.
