The UEFA Champions League wraps up its group stage matches on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 with
eight matches including Standard Liege v AZ Alkmaar.
In case you missed it, yesterday was not without an incredible amount of drama. Well, drama so long
as you find it synonymous with "unexpected results". Today isn't quite on par with Juve Barca or
the central pairing of Michael Carrick & Darren Fletcher locking down Dzeko & Grafite, but it does
have Group [.
The UEFA Champions League has eight group stage matches on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. The most
notable matches are in Group F (Inter Milan, Barcelona, Dynamo Kiev, Rubin Kazan) where all the
clubs still have a chance to advance to the knockout stage. Group E already has the top two spots
decided while Group G and H each have one spot left.
Amazing late drama as Standard keeper Bolat scored a last gasp equalizer to hand the Belgian
side a place in Europa League.

With the Champions League kayos out of reach for Standard late into extra time they had one final
shot at drawing even, or else they'd go from potential big money knockouts participants to out of
Europe altogether. Everybody pushed forward, including the keeper, for their last chance at a goal
and thus the Europa League.
