Liverpool full-back Martin Kelly has spoken of his respect for colleague Daniel Ayala, despite the
fact that the young Spaniard is in direct competition with him for a place in the team. Both 19-year-olds have represented their countries at youth level and both have now played for Rafa
Benitez's first-team, but Kelly insists that their relationship is positive. Click to continue reading...
Surely a good defence doesn't turn bad overnight and therefore a move for new additions at the
back is a tad of a knee-jerk reaction?
WEST HAM could have a fight on their hands to keep their star players after reports
emerged that Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is planning a £15million double raid for defenders
Matthew Upson and Herita Ilunga.
Mauricio Pellegrino today acclaimed the leadership qualities of Rafa Benitez during a difficult
start to the 2009-10 campaign. The first-team coach, who played under Benitez at Valencia and Liverpool, describes him as a man
who stays calm amid the storm. And Pellegrino is confident his boss is building a team capable of dominating English football
despite a dip in form this term. Click to continue reading...
Liverpool youngster Daniel Ayala has extended his contract with the Anfield club. The 18-year-old defender, who made his debut for the first team on the opening day of this season
at Spurs, has signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2012. Spaniard Ayala has made three first-team appearances this term. Click to continue reading...
no?

In my NyQuil haze, I screwed up the math. Through some combination of the time change (which
happens earlier in England than in the States) and me sleeping through my usual routine of checking
multiple sites to figure out the kickoff, I was an hour off. As I slumped into the pub, sucking on
a cough drop, I still thought I was early enough to grab a seat and some pre-match breakfast, but I
found a room full of sullen Liverpool supporters and a match well underway.
Liverpool face Lyon in the Champion's League tonight, but given the fact that Rafa has an injury
list longer than his arm; who do you think should play? The squad is as follows: Reina, Cavalieri,
Carragher, Ayala, Darby, Insua, Agger, Kyrgiakos, Kuyt, Lucas, Benayoun, Aquilani, Babel,
Mascherano, Spearing, Plessis, Ngog, Voronin, Torres. Click to continue reading...
With our injury crisis and our poor run of form, Lyon are favourites to win in France
tonight. However, I am sticking my neck out and going for another famous win in Europe.Yes, we are
missing loads of first team players, most notably Steven Gerrard.Yes, Fernando Torres isn't fully
fit and yes we are in our worst run of form for decades. Click to continue reading...
Glen Johnson and Fabio Aurelio have not travelled with the Liverpool squad for the Champions League
match against Lyons tomorrow night after they failed fitness tests today. Uefa has allowed Rafael Benitez, the Liverpool manager, to bring in Daniel Ayala from a reserve
list of players, such is the severity of the injury crisis at Anfield. Click to continue reading...
Sorry its late this time. The Starting lineup from Liverpool's shocking game against Fulham. Reina,

Liverpool lost 3-1 at Craven Cottage to Fulham today as Carragher and Degen were both sent off.
Rafa went for a 442 with Voronin joining Torres upfront; while inexperienced was a word to describe
the bench of Gulacsi, Dossena, Ayala, Spearing, Plessis, Eccleston and Babel. Liverpool dominated
the opening play, but went a goal behind when Zamora [. Click to continue reading...

goals, and questionable substitutions. Click to continue reading...
Little to say after what promises to be one of the most surreal thirty minutes in recent
memory.
Chronologically:
-Torres off, Ryan Babel on. Apparently uninjured. Maybe with the midweek Champions League
fixture in mind...but after that first half stunner, tough pill to swallow.

"proceso", "calvario" o sencillamente "eliminatorias".
Click to continue reading...
We've been waiting a long time for Agger to return and it looks like he's finally regaining his
fitness after playing in both of Denmarks matches this week. Plus the timing of his return couldn't
be better. You see Kyrgiakos is after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament and it means the guy faces a
lengthy spell on the sidelines (4-6 months). Click to continue reading...
Sotirios Kyrgiakos is bracing himself for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after he suffered a
serious injury on international duty. Kyrgiakos - who joined the Reds from AEK Athens in August - was forced off before half-time during
his country's 2-1 win over Luxembourg last night. It has since been claimed in Greece that Kyrgiakos has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and
the 30-year-old will spend at least four months on the sidelines. Click to continue reading...
Liverpool are fearing the worst on the fitness of Sotirios Kyrgiakos after the Greece
defender was forced off before half-time during his side's 2-1 win over Luxembourg on
Wednesday.
Daniel Pacheco hit a stunning stoppage-time free-kick to fire Liverpool Reserves to a 1-0 win
against Burnley on Wednesday night. The Reds controlled the majority of a hard-fought encounter at Prenton Park and deservedly took the
points courtesy of the Spaniard's 90th minute wonder goal. It means John McMahon's men have extended their winning streak to four matches and have moved level
with leaders Manchester United on 12 points, after the Red Devils prevailed against Everton 24
hours earlier. Click to continue reading...
