Some news to read as you reflect on the sheer awesomeness of Italian games where somebody (read:
Amauri) gets red-carded and there is a little quote balloon in what is probably Arabic in the video
and you have no idea what it says but you're pretty sure it reflects quite poorly on somebody's
mother: Pictures: [.
For someone who turns 32 today, Thierry Henry is still as amazing as ever! He's hot as could be,
and as for the way he plays - Titi has evolved so much on Barca the past year, it's astonishing how
well he fits in on the team. We love how well he gets along with the rest of the players, on and
off the pitch he just gets on so well with everyone and it's too cute.
The majestic awesomeness of the Champions League theme song is something we have all long been
aware of, but AC Milan have gone beyond mere appreciation and actually had the genius stroke to
harness its untold powers to help them in their domestic campaign.
Having realized that their form in their Champions League has often been better than their form
in Serie A in recent years, the club's vice president Adriano Galliani decided to have the team
listen to the song before Sunday's game against Bologna.
It's been nearly three years since I first came across The Hold Steady, and hardly a week has
gone by when I haven't either listened to or thought of them. Surprisingly, I had only seen them
once before, just as they were starting to break. But on Sunday, they closed out the Taste Of
Randolph Street Festival with a typically blistering performance.
My wife loves the movie Dirty Dancing. She watches it almost every time it is on
television. For those of you who do not live in a place where you receive TBS, TNT, USA, etc., let
me tell you this: it is always on television. It is probably on every day on a major TV station
somewhere in America.
No Diomansy tonight. Because Eddie Johnson is leading the line! Wicked. Eddie may not
get many opportunities but I remain convinced of his awesomeness, at least on a theoretical
level.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Wilson has an article up about tactics.
He asks if the sweeper might come back, but the article is really about space.
Earlier today, me, narcissistically posting in Pitch Invasion's Sweeper, which was awesome enough
to link to me three times, and oh, yeah, had a bit about the depressing match fixing revelations
coming out of Europe:
Anyway, Declan Hill is working on his "told you so" blog entry right now.
Many were pretty nervous about this, what with the state of the squad and the way the team's been
doing lately... but once again, the boys came out and blew us all away when we were least expecting
it. Will a time ever come when they'll stop doing that? Impossible.
When a team comes out to such a pressured match against such big opponents, with several players
sidelined including their two biggest stars, yet they manage to destroy the other lot, you
know you're looking at a team that is truly great.
Damn it feels good to be a gangster. I just realized I never properly reflected on my pure and
total awesomeness - what better time to do it now than the cold months of winter? Pull up a chair
and be warmed by the size of my indomitable ego. I mean, yeah, I played it cool leading up to the
record:
"It just means I've been around for a while and that I'm older," Schmid said, not
trying to call much attention to the milestone.
My posts have been a little few and far between lately since the end of the MLS season there
hasn't been much action around Toronto FC, other than the hiring of a new coach. But there are a
few tidbits of news I thought I'd share:
Goodbye Guevara Attacking midfielder Amado Guevara has left Toronto FC and
signed a 2-year contract with the Honduran club Motagua.
I have so much more to write, but for now, revel in this awesomeness.
