I love coaching the Seattle Sounders. We have so much money. Did you catch what MLSNet said about
the sweet benefits expansion teams get?
Fortunately for Seattle, they still have plenty of financial flexibility to make this
happen. In a bid to make expansion sides more competitive from the get-go, MLS grants the
debutantes an additional $1 million in allocation money to either acquire players or pare down the
salary cap.
If you live in Chicago, Alyse LaHue is looking to expand housing options for Red Stars players:
Some nice things (aka requirements) are to have a room all for the player to have to
herself. Preferably her own bathroom, or at least multiples for one family. A separate entrance is
a magic perk.
I'm Fake Sigi, and I approve this message:
"It's a huge honor but also a really nice surprise to be voted the female athlete of
the year for U.S. Soccer," said Solo. "I especially want to thank everyone for voting for a
goalkeeper, as well as our goalkeeper coach Paul Rogers for helping me think about the position in
a more sophisticated way, both technically and tactically.
So long, jackass. It's about time.
Much love to Ives for the image.
I told you all the 2010 MLS season would be awesome. Between Heaps and Olsen hanging up their
petulant (and in regards to the former, dirty, cheating) cleats, next year got a whole lot better.
Damn it feels good to be a gangster. I just realized I never properly reflected on my pure and
total awesomeness - what better time to do it now than the cold months of winter? Pull up a chair
and be warmed by the size of my indomitable ego. I mean, yeah, I played it cool leading up to the
record:
"It just means I've been around for a while and that I'm older," Schmid said, not
trying to call much attention to the milestone.
Is surprisingly gender neutral:
FIFA announced the [World Player of the Year] finalists earlier today.
Three of the five women finalists play in MLS - the others are Kelly Smith (Boston Breakers) and
Cristiane (Chicago Red Stars).
Thanks to Dan Loney for making me go back and reread that post.
Per Sean Michelle. I guess Clark Hunt found some extra change in his sofa. Even Will Hesmer gets a
raise:
The Crew is close to finalizing new deals with Jed Zayner and Jason Garey, two of the
three players who are out of contract at the end of the month. Guillermo Barros Schelotto is the
other, and a new agreement with "The Little Guy," as Alejandro Moreno calls him, is hoped to be
reached before the holidays.
