Honorary life president: Wayne Rooney 1. Half of France's national team The French tend to get off

pretty quiet on this front we assume the latest example is another case in point. Cast your mind

After the international break, Chelsea resume their Premier League campaign at West Ham on Saturday
and its another chance for Chelsea to grab another early three points. With United away in a tricky
game at Everton we simply have to win and I have to say, the way we are playing right now, West
Ham's dismal start to their season and pressure mounting already on Avram Grant, I can only
see a Chelsea win.
Transfer deadline day often fails to live up to its billing as the most exciting day of the
summer session. The final day for clubs to roll the dice on new players ahead of the new season
tends to come and go without intrigue.
Yesterday was completely different...
West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan has denied reports that embattled manager Avram Grant
has been given only the next three games to save his job at Upton Park.
Grant, who guided Chelsea to a second-place finish in both the Premier League and the Champions
League in his very first stint as an English football manager, failed to save Portsmouth from
relegation last season.
Bottom-of-the-table Hammers face the daunting prospect of games against Chelsea, Stoke and
Tottenham, and it is being suggested that Grant will become the first Premier League boss to be
axed if all three games are lost. However Sullivan tells ESPNsoccernet that it is wide of the mark
to suggest that Grant only has three games left, [.
WEST Ham will suffer more woes when they face Chelsea at Upton Park in the Premier League, that's
according to former Hammers manager Alan Curbishley.
Avram Grant's side have experienced an awful start to their campaign and Curbishley, now an expert
pundit with soccermillionaire.com, says Carlo Ancelotti's side will be too strong for them this
time of asking with the Blues recording a 3-1 win.

Although Chelsea will take on a West Ham side that are rock-bottom of the Premier League on
Saturday, the trip to Upton Park represents Ancelotti's toughest task so far this season, and
Chelsea will have to up their game to continue their stunning start to the season.
Chelsea have had nothing short of seamless start.
Premier League basement boys West Ham host high-flying Chelsea on
Saturday in what could be Avram Grant's last game in charge at Upton Park.
Forget Chelsea's egos and Portsmouth's finances (or lack thereof), Avram
Grant is running out of excuses.

And by 'top' we don't necessarily good Gerard Houllier's appointment as Aston Villa manager got us

The what: Premier League, Round 4 – West Ham v. Chelsea
The where: Upton Park (35,303)
The when: September 11, 3pm local time (10am EST)
The how: ESPN2 (DirecTV 209, Dish Network 144)
The why: Because Super Frank is unable to play, and, well, a win against West Ham
is always always satisfying.

We're not against rap. We're not against rappers. But we are against those thugs.
Chelsea survived all types of thuggery in East London to keep their perfect start to the Premier
League season intact. A sometimes edgy, mostly comfortable, 3-1 win over West Ham made it four wins
out of four for the reigning champions of England.
I believe West Ham United supporters should be worried, if they're not worried already. Not only
because they're bottom of the table. But more so because the team reminds me a lot of the way that
Avram Grant's previous club, Portsmouth, played last season. And we all know where they ended
up.
Sordid affairs, last minute goals, new heroes, old friends and the same old foes. This week's
Premiership football stories have everything.

West Ham manager Avram Grant has admitted that portly striker Benni
McCarthy is still not fit enough to play for the club, despite being put on a weight-loss
orientated training regime shortly after signing from Blackburn last January.
When the second Chelsea goal flew in Salomon Kalou off a hasty clearance by Matthew Upson, the
commentator uttered these words which ultimately defined West Ham's performance against Chelsea
over the weekend just past.
Fortune continues to leave West Ham.....
These words rang so true in my mind.

Sport.co.uk reports that West Ham will sign Mauro Formica from Newell's Old Boys for an undisclosed
fee (but likely about £3.2m) during the January transfer window. The 22-year-old is highly
regarded in his homeland and has been tipped for a future in the national team.
The Argentine plays as an advanced playmaker, the classic Argentine no.
In another cracking weekend in the world of Premiership football, it was the attackers who stole
the headlines: Rafael van der Vaart lit up White Hart Lane, Hatem Ben Arfa took the sting out of
Goodison Park and Dimitar Berbatov was the toast of Old Trafford.

My favorite English football club may not be very good. Okay, they're definitely not very good. But
what West Ham United tends to lack in on-field acumen, they tend to make up for in wildly
entertaining storylines. Just within the last four years they've been rescued from foreclosure at
the hand of the Icelandic national bank by two brash billionaire pornographers.
West Ham had the best preparation ahead of their Saturday clash with Tottenham Hotspur winning
their 3rd round Carling Cup match. The fact that it was against Premiership opponents (Sunderland)
and that the Hammers finally registered their first away win of the year will give Scott Parker and
his team mates a massive boost in confidence.
Apparently we're in a cup final tomorrow. Obviously not our cup final. We save those for actual
cup finals. You know the one's usually held at Wembley and at the end of the match one of the two
teams walks up some steps and collects a trophy? Our opponents tomorrow have replaced real cup
finals with little itty bitty league ones against us.
The media spotlight will be shining brightly on these incumbents Avram Grant Everyone's favourite

endings). Last season he was captain of the biggest sinking ship since Kate and Leo, and he
promptly jumped out of the frying pan and into [.
Even with the midweek debacle, the majority of our players have been well rested and let's face it,
they deserve to give us something to cheer about.
I can see us getting a win, purely because we are a lot better than West Ham at this point in the
season. I know that football doesn't always work like that, but from seeing West Ham on one
occasion live this season against Bolton (yes, I was asked to go, and thinking that I could
possibly get lucky, went along), they were about as lucky as I was on the night.
