There's all kinds of MLS and soccer lovin' going around this morning in our fine land. Devin
Barclay, now a rock star on Ohio State's campus, played parts of five seasons in MLS from
2001-2005. He suited up for Tampa Bay, San Jose, D.C. United and the Columbus Crew before hanging
up the cleats and--eventually--picking up some other cleats.
Kyle Emge and Jordan Brandel each scored twice as the Regis University men's soccer team
hammered Northwest Nazarene 6-2 on Saturday in Denver.
Lucas Mazier and Nathan Kafer also scored for the Rangers as Regis outshot the visitors
20-9.
Regis took the lead in the eighth minute. Donnie Montoya dribbled in from the right wing and
crossed to Emge just in front of the net.
ESPN.com has a well researched and written article about Eric Avila's former UCSB teammate Eric
Frimpong.
Brek Shea, Eric Avila, Josh Lambo, and Peri Marosevic are all heading to South Africa.
Eric Avila's second half heroics led to a well-earned 2-1 comeback victory for FC Dallas over
Columbus Crew Saturday night at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco. With FC Dallas trailing 1-0 deep into the
second half, Avila struck gold only four minutes after running onto the pitch, curling a lovely
shot inside the far post.
Jimmy Buffet makes awful music and wears even worse clothes. But he has a very pro-cocktail,
pro-vacation stance that I find hard to disagree with. And I love his fans as I have a whole raft
of self-esteem issues and they just make me feel so much better about myself...but you couldn't pay
me to get near one of his concerts.
Colombian football fans last saw Antony D'Avila on a pitch well over a decade ago. This weekend he
will return to his first love at the Pascual Guerrero and be ready for Diego Umaña. This is
probably why Colombian fans will be closely watching América face Pasto on Sunday.
The team overall is excited for "the old man" to be making his return.
"Good result, horrible play. I'm happy with the 3 points though!" -Anonymous

"Evidently the haters stayed home for their favorite circle event." -Anonymous
"I'm thrilled with the win, but I do have to pay attention to the details.
After a run of good form, FC Dallas came back down to earth, falling 2-0 to the Columbus Crew. Once
again, a set piece situation was the downfall for Dallas as Vampire Dario (he fears the cross) fell
victim to a Chad Marshall header.
Comments about the match quickly fall by the wayside as the worst play-by-play man in sports, Brad
Sham, takes a beating from fans for yet another abysmal performance behind the microphone showing
he knows shit about soccer and should just stick to kissing Jerry Jones' ass.
1) Various records to watch for:
- Eric Avila has made 16 subs without a start. Needs four more in the final five games to break
the record, or three to tie.
- The worst Supporters Shield winners in MLS history were the 2004 Columbus Crew at 1.633 PPG.
Somebody will need to finish with 50 points to surpass them.
The MLS Generation Adidas team in South Africa played their second game of their trip today against
Santos Football Club. Unfortunately this result didn't go the way of the first one against the
Pirates. The GA team lost 2-1 to Santos. Chicago Fire forward, Patrick Nyarko once again scored for
the GA team in the loss.
Well I really decided not to write a post game due to:
1. didn't see the whole match because of a wedding
2. people told me that it was a bad coaching choices
3. lots of bad/missed calls
so it came down where the Crew were up 1-0 and then in the 80th minute Eric Avila scored.
Cause I couldnt think of anything left to write about this team. Everytime that I would sit down
and try to write something good about this team they would go and screw it up for me. Tonight was
no exception. For months we have had swiss cheese for a defensive line. Tonight they got alot of
help from the midfield for 3/4 of the game and we looked good.

It had been over 12 years since Anthony D'Avila last scored a goal in Colombian football. His goal
against Pereira on February 2, 1997 was thought by many to be the last one of his career at least
in his native Colombia. With seconds remaining between América and Santa Fe, the former Colombian
international did what came instinctively during his career.
Anyone want to guess where Daniel Hernandez played in college?

"Another former SMU player that played for Schellas, why am I not surprised?" -Anonymous
"So...someone tell me exactly how many of the players on the current roster played at SMU for SH.
Or were Shea, Lambo, Marosevic, Guarda, and Avila also graduated?
