Rafael da Silva has been called up to the 23-man Brazilian national squad for their friendly
against the USA in August. New manager Mano Menezes has left out some of Dunga's World Cup squad,
after the team's disappointing end to the tournament.
Rafael is obviously very happy to have been called up and recognises he is likely to play in
Maicon's absence.
In his first major action as Brazil coach, Mano Menezes has released the names of his 24 man
squad that will face the USA in a friendly next month. I have to warn you though, it is not short
of surprises. Of course what everyone wants to know is whether Dinho made the cut.
Unfortunately the Milan star along with Ronaldo and Adriano were not so lucky.
Newly appointed Brazil manager Mano Menezes called up several uncapped players for the team
which will play a friendly match against the USA on the 10th of August. Benfica's highly talented
commanding centre back, David Luiz, is delighted with his first call-up and told the press a dream
came true.
