With the almost-inevitable shuttering of Women's Professional Soccer (WPS), a vacancy exists in
the soccer landscape for a venue where the top talent in the this country and around the world can
ply its trade. The Women's Premier Soccer League has formed an Elite Division comprised of former
WPS teams and long-standing members of its amateur ranks, with the 2012 season scheduled to
kick-off next week.
The culture of association football is sometimes best regarded as a blank canvas onto which we
can project just about any value system. Over the years, it has come to take on its own ecosystem
as a world of its own. It has clearly defined seasons, its own judiciary which mirrors but seldom
matches that of the outside world and it demands its own autonomy, free from what it haughtily
describes as "outside interference.
On the accusations of racism against John Terry and another
opinion
Let's begin with a big ‘if'. If John Terry racially abused Anton Ferdinand, then sure, open
the floodgates. I don't know John Terry and given his track record I find it absolutely conceivable
that he has quite a few racial slurs in his vocabulary.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that as part of the Club's partnership with Autonomy, the
2011-2012 Barclays Premier League match shirt will feature the name Aurasma, the software company's
new augmented reality platform.
It's been a funny old week in Planet Tottenham. After the Modric mess of last weekend, it's all
gone slightly quiet on that particular front. After the startling admission from Moddle that he
wanted to jump ship and climb aboard the Villas Boas revolution a Stamford Bridge and Daniel Levy's
frank rebuttal of those plans, we were all expecting further fireworks.
The Tottenham home kit was leaked here a few short days ago, but it's now been officially
released:
0/5 Stars
Oh how I rue shirt sponsorships. The plain-front version of this shirt was at least classy; the
sponsored version looks flat out cheap. The lack of
any secondary design or trim whatsoever
draws unwanted attention (at least in the eyes of everyone outside of Autonomy - the parent of the
Aurasma technology) towards the sponsor.

So, seemingly weeks after everyone else the club and Puma decided to finally let us have a look
at the kits for next year. Of course we can't buy them yet. No, you'll have to wait for that. Until
September 14th if you want the home or away kit. Coincidentally after the transfer window is
shut.

Don't rumble with Jose Mourinho, you won't win...ever.
Sadly (or 'thankfully', depending on your particular bias), this is a life lesson that
former Real Madrid director Jorge Valdano has had to learn the hard way.
Our Real Madrid fan site broke the story almost two weeks ago that Jorge Valdano was set to
leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Well today Real Madrid confirmed that story as they today sacked director general Jorge Valdano
after a board meeting at the Bernabeu stadium.
"We have decided to end the contractual relationship with Jorge Valdano," said Real president
Florentino Perez.
