Bayern Munich have arrived in Doha, Qatar for a training camp,
and all Arjen Robben and Thomas Mueller really wanted to do was
to play on their iPads. Or rather, just Robben's. It's painfully obvious that they are on
Instagram, editing some glamour shots of themselves.
Nelson Mandela: The Liverpool FC Supporter
We had to dig deep for this one. It turns out the legendary South African human rights and
anti-apartheid activist was able to meet Liverpool when the club was on tour in South Africa in the
summer of 1994. Serving as the President of South Africa in ‘94, Mandela was proudly presented
with a Reds shirt by John Barnes, the club's captain.

To celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo's 100th La Liga goal for Real Madrid at the weekend, a once in a
lifetime opportunity is being run by leading football memorabilia provider
ICONS.
Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo doesn't usually come across as someone who pays to much
attention to their appearance, but this cartoon offended even him. Confronted with a caricature of
himself to sign, the Portuguese attacker does a double-take. He says: "Is this me? My God. Very
ugly, yeah?" But he pops his autograph on [.

Spotted after Real Madrid's mauling of APOEL at the Bernabeu on Tuesdaywednesdaywhenever,
Cristiano Ronaldo being temporarily put out by a particularly unflattering caricature of him held
aloft by an autograph-hunting fan...
To be fair, it's not nearly the most harrowing depiction of Ronaldo we've ever seen, with that
title firmly belonging to a float at the 2009 Portugal Carnaval.
On Tuesday, April 17th the New York Red Bulls held an autograph signing session at the Adidas store
in New York City, on the corner of Houston St. & Broadway. The line stretched around the corner as

The Portuguese team set off on a bizarre "parade" all around Lisbon yesterday to mark their
final training session before official preparations for the tournament begin. However, in the
spotlight again is on our old friend, Cristiano Ronaldo, who apparently snubbed a
group of waiting fans outside a restaurant after dinner on Wednesday.
Brad Evans was certainly a hit at Friday night's Q&A session at Official U.S. Soccer Bar Tim
Finnegan's Irish Pub, answering questions and sharing stories for more than an hour about rising
from a club player in Arizona to the U.S. National Team.
The local fans were particularly interested in his thoughts about player development in the state
and how more kids can reach the elite levels in the sport.
It looks more and more likely with each passing day that Andrey Arshavin will pack up his boots
and leave London during the summer, likely back to Russia with Zenit St Petersburg, where he's
still considered a hero. In fact, it seems all of Russia regards Arshavin as some kind of football
genius since he was named that nation's athlete of the year again for the fourth time running and
is still the captain of his country's team.
Que triste! It isn't a good week for fans of the US Women's Professional Soccer (WPS)
league. The board announced it would be "suspending play" this year due to complex legal issues
involving a former club owner. This matters because some of the world's best female players ply
their trade there including Abby Wambach, Marta, Alex Morgan and
Hope Solo.
Other than being able to order copious amounts of beer and food my German is pretty limited. But
according to a recent article by German publication Bild, Polish-born, but German-international
Lukas Podolski has already agreed to personal terms with good old Arsenal. It could be true, but it
should be taken with a grain of salt.
Iker Casillas and Andrés Iniesta go around asking for autographs
Courtesy of fairly convincing acting skills, Iker and Andrés were able to strike sheer
bewilderment into those walking down a typical street en España. Instead of being exposed to
hundreds of fans begging for an autograph, the two Spain legends were the ones asking for
autographs of the men and women they met in the latest Liga BBVA advest.
Former Liverpool FC legend Robbie Fowler is training with Blackpool and is rumored to sign for
the Championship side in the the next 24-48 hours.
The 36-year-old spent his career in Australia and Thailand since leaving English football in
2008, following a brief spell with Blackburn Rovers.
Recently, I came across of an August 1958 issue of Soccer News. With the motto of 'It Covers the
Nation's Pitches,' the publication gives us a glimpse of what the game was like in the United
States at the time. If you wanted Manchester United manager Matt Busby's autograph, there was a
classified ad that could help.
I was walking down the Euston Road the other day and asked someone for his autograph. Turns out
he was foreign and didn't seem to understand what I wanted.
"Your autograph," I said, thrusting out a pen and piece of paper.
He looked confused. So, in typical English fashion, I explained further.
So we have the EPL All Stars in Jakarta for the weekend. In a masterpiece of timing their visit
coincides with the national team hosting Inter Milan and tomorrow has the domestic biggy...Persija
v Persib.
Why the hell would anyone wanna see a bunch of middle aged, pot bellied men hugging each other,
enjoying their own private jokes and occasionally condescending to toss a wave or a thumbs up to
the paying, braying, fan.
Image: ALEXANDER KLEIN/AFP/GettyImages. You think Sergio Ramos and Fernando Torres ever get tired
of co-signing "SerNando" on fans' memorabilia? Since both of their siggys are required, how
attached at the autograph are they? Is it always Sergio who starts things off with "Ser" or are
there instances where Fernando scrawls his "Nando" suffix first?
