Austria Vienna kept the path clear for European competition next season with a gutsy two-goal
comeback in the final ten minutes over Preston Zimmerman's SV Kapfenberg.
Xabi Alonso's future may take a step closer to being resolved today, as the midfielder is set to
meet up with manager Rafael Benitez.
The Spaniard remains a transfer target for Real Madrid but Liverpool are loathe to sell one of
their key players meaning the situation is currently at something of a deadlock.
I have been travelling around in Europe for a month, and although with the break, there wasn't much
football on my busy programme, I did nevertheless notice some things:-I was in Barcelona when R.D.
Espanyol inaugurated their new stadium by winning a 3-0 victory against Liverpool. I have always
felt some sympathy for Español for being the "little guys" in Barcelona, and was happy to see them
play
Athletic Bilbao's 16-year-old forward Iker Muniain became the youngest scorer in La Liga when he
earned them a point in Sunday's 2-2 draw at Real Valladolid. Muniain, who turns 17 in December and
was a second-half substitute, picked up a loose ball on the edge of the area in the 77th minute and
his snap shot was good enough to beat Jacobo Sanz in the Valladolid goal for the second equalizer.
I might be a bit premature in saying this, but with our Champion's League hopes hanging by a
thread, I was looking at the B competition, The Europa League.
In it you have some of the powerhouses of European football such as Stum Graz, FC Sheriff, Fc
Twente, Bate, Dinamo Zagreb, Austria Vienna and other Luminaries of the game!
The highlight of this EUROPA LEAGUE game between Austria Vienna& Spanish Club Athletic de Bilbao
was the pitch invasion by "hooligans"that stopped the match in the 2ºhalf for about 30 minutes.
Apart fromthe flares & the numerous objects thrown onto the pitch the behaviourneeds to be
punished, something we hope UEFA will do.

Preston Zimmerman and the Falcons ride up to the Austrian capital on Saturday looking to preserve

3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat for Bundesliga clubs in Europe this week. The good news is that
five out of six have it all in their own hands to progress to the next round. The odd club out is
of course Hertha B... no wait.
Bayern Munich 0-2 Bordeaux. Bayern wanted a football teacher and got a textbook
case of how little possession stats tell you about the outcome of a football match.
There are several key matches in some of the smaller European leagues including the Austrian
Bundesliga and Turkish Super League. Two of these include Rapid Vienna v Austria Vienna and
Galatasaray v Manisaspor which will both be covered live on our other site, Free Live Sports TV, at
the links below.
Angry Austria Vienna fans invaded the pitch like a drunk and stupid army during their side's 3-0
loss to Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League on Thursday. Upset after Athletic scored their second
goal, fans first threw objects onto the pitch, forcing the referee to halt play. This didn't go
over so hot with the crowd, so they decide to storm the gate to the pitch as if they were Christmas
shopping parents attempting to bust down the doors of a toy store before opening.

I baschi
Ci sono state, però,
Molti i nodi
