Kewell the answer to A-League's Marquee Question? - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
The Hyundai A-League and by extension, the Football Federation of Australia reels from one
crisis to another. If it's not declining crowd numbers, owners threatening to close stands rather
than see empty seats, franchises folding, disastrous World Cup bids (corruption or not) or even
stars entering fan forums, then it's clubs failing to take advantage of the league's generous
marquee player policy.
Harry Kewell the man who so nearly won the Asian Cup for Australia, in January 2011 is expected to
sign for Melbourne Victory for THREE YEARS tomorrow.
This is great news for football fans, for the A-League and Australian football.
The process may have been long and arduous but Australia's greatest player will return to Australia
at just 32.

Everybody has heard about the devastating flood that has covered Australia. Not to make light of

Over 30,000 properties in Brisbane (Australia's third-largest city) alone have been battered by
these flood waters.

Supposing former Lee Hendrie does decide to come and play for Bandung in the Liga Primer
Indonesia. How would Indonesian football benefit from his presence? It won't of course beyond an
aroma of glamour through having a fairly recognizable face linked with the unofficial league.
Given Indonesian fans' devotion to Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea it's highly probable
that Hendrie would have long slipped from the public consciousness and it is highly inlikely there
are a significant number of Villa fans in Bandung who would make him feel welcome in the city of
factory outlets and Brownies.

Everton's Tim Cahill says he's ready to win the Asia Cup this Saturday when his Socceroos meet
Japan in the final. After many pundits had Uzbekistan and Australian on even odds prior to their

from wealthy foreign owners is symptomatic of its inability to engage with the Asian region, says
the man who found the investors.
Peteca, Tlatchi, Cuju, Shrovetide, the human history is filled with games that involve a chasing a
ball. Whether at one point we all started off kicking it or throwing it, or if it was oval shaped
or round, it seems to be unknown to history. Or perhaps instead of branching off from one main
descendant, the game spontaneously evolved at multiple points in the world.
