ACT Young Rockets have been training for the past four weeks and look like they have a number of
fixtures against A-League Youth teams lined up.
They could start as early as the opening A-League Youth League round against Sydney FC if all goes
to plan on Friday 26th September, with further games against the Central Coast, Newcastle Jets and
possibly Melbourne Jets to follow.
This weeks poddies.

Scott MacDonald, Jade North, Josh Kennedy, Vince Grella, Jason Culina, Mark Viduka, Tim Cahill,

Asia has tested the Socceroos; and Pim Verbeek now has a depth of player few could have dreamed of
after the last World Cup.
The performance reminded me of the way we played against China in Kunming except with one big
difference: we had a much better balance between defence and attack and when opportunities arose,
we really bombed forward in numbers and with purpose. Like against China, Pim set out the team to
control the game and [.
A very big truck from SAKAI.
The other codes said Aussies didn't care about the Asian Champions League.
Well here's evidence to show they do.
Adelaide United just 900 tickets left for tonights Quater Final against Kashima Antlers. What code
wouldn't like a midweek sell-out!

Thomas Rooney – Freelance Sports Journalist West Ham United are in a strange situation right
now. Their manager Alan Curbishley quit yesterday after a disagreement with the clubs owners over
the transfer policy at Upton Park and now it seems no-one wants to take over the reigns. Both Harry
Redknapp and Slavin Bilic [.
The back story to this game was the illness that swept through the Socceroos before the game
leaving quite a depleted squad. But they were up to the task, playing a nice short passing
game.
The next talking point will be who the Socceroos play next. Strangely, FIFA allowed the 2-0 win by
Qatar playing Iraq with an unregistered player to stand.
Thomas Rooney - Freelance Sports Journalist Australian forward Scott McDonald failed to get on the
score sheet last night as Scottish Champions Celtic were held to a 0-0 draw at home to AaB Aalborg
in their first Champions League fixture of the season. McDonald - who has made nine appearances for
Australia - [.
Australia and Asian Football. Since our acceptance as a Member of the Asian Football Conference and
of course our successful sojourn to Germany in 2006, Australian Football both Internationally and
Nationally has grown. We now find ourselves in the 4th and final round of qualifying for the 2010
World Cup in South Africa.
By Bobby Freakout In what shapes as the match of the season thus far, United travel to the Telstra
Dome on Friday night to take on the A-League's early pacesetters. Form Guide Both teams sit on 7
points with two wins and a draw, though Melbourne's positive goal difference of 7 has them leading
the league [.
Melbourne continued their very impressive start to the season with a 1-0 victory after going down
to 10 men after Ney Fabiano being sent off for a spitting incident. This performance was probably
more impressive than the 5-0 demolition of Newcastle given the way Melbourne controlled the game
and limited Adelaide to only a [.
Well what a night for Adelaide and Australian Football as a whole. Adelaide United turned in an
excellent performance to send Kashima out of the AFC Champions League and put themselves through to
the final four.
Aurelio Vidmar will be feeling justified for his strategy of resting a majority of his players in
last week's A-League game against Sydney.
Last weekend's string of unpredictable results in the English Premier League has been mirrored in
Australia proving the A-League remains as competitive as ever.
While Hull City were shocking Arsenal and Wigan upsetting big spending Manchester City, closer to
home joint league leaders Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory both lost matches they were widely
anticipated to win.
In my previous match reports, I have been very critical of Jedinak. I argued that I didn't think he
had much of a future in the national team. I've only recently started to watch him week to
week (and yes, paying for Foxtel is a pain and a drain) and now I understand why [...]
Player of the Week Adrian Caceres has become a real live-wire in the centre of the Mariners attack.
With a goal and an assist (although there was shocking marking and positioning by Perth defenders
for both goals), he provided a real classy edge in a dominant Mariners performance. When I did the
preview for the [.
