Another great benefit of being in Asia and gives us a glimmer of hope should we fail to qualify for

pursue opportunities abroad and not sign with MLS to play for New England. We'll keep you posted if
anything develops.

Another year and yet another FIFA committee.
Sepp Blatter is setting up an anti-corruption committee to investigate the ethics committee or
some such thing. Methinks he's a bit freaked out by the stories of back stabbing that went on with
the USA, England, and Australia bids - where FIFA members blatantly lied about giving them votes
only to switch to Russia or Qatar.

The 2011 Asian Cup is sure to have plenty of amazing goals, as Japan, South Korea, North Korea
and Australia take the pitch for their first competitive action since the World Cup, and meet
opposition from traditional Asian powers like Iran and Saudi Arabia. As the tournament progresses,

Saudi legendary player, Majed Abdullah.
DOHA, Qatar With their graduation into Asia complete, the Socceroos are about to find out if they

The English cricket team will not look like this when they return home
This is a magnificent victory. It is cricket and as such has no place on a blog about
soccer/football but for those growing up around that game like we did in India or elsewhere in the
cricket playing world - the Aussies were damn near invincible for aeons.
Got up and watched the opening match of the 2011 Asian Cup last night and was very glad that I did.
Fantastic game and one that deserves more attention from the media here in Australia.
If you ever needed more evidence that Australia is yet to embrace our move into Asia you only need
to scan through the news stations today and witness and the total lack of reporting about the Asian
Cup.

Sunil Chhetri and the Indian national team get their AFC Asian Cup campaign started this week when
they take on Australia. It appears that Chhetri will have another set of eyes looking at him in the
game. Word out of Australia is that A-League side, Perth Glory, will be watching Chhetri with an
eye towards signing the forward.
Sunil Chhetri went the full 90 minutes for India, and had their best chances, but India fell 4-0 to
Australia in their opener of the AFC Asian Cup. The Australians, the highest ranked team in the
Asian Confederation easily outclassed the lowest ranked Indian side. Three goals in the first half
put the game well out of reach for India.
DOHA, Qatar — An impressive Australia crushed India 4-0 to get their Asian Cup campaign off to a
decisive start Monday with red-hot Everton star Tim Cahill collecting two goals. Played at an
Al-Sadd Stadium packed with noisy expatriate Indians, a convincing win was needed by the Socceroos
to demonstrate their tournament credentials against a [.

A rusty Asutralia relied on the old fellas, Tim Cahill (2), Harry Kewell (1), and Brett Emerton to
create and score most of our goals. Brett Holman scored the other.
A comfortable win amd one which sets us up for the massive game with Korea on Friday.
