The USA is bidding for the 2018 or 2022 World Cups, the two tournaments up for grabs this December.
The FIFA inspection team is set to arrive next week to tour the proposed facilities, and though
there's a sense the American bid has little chance of getting the 2018 tourney, the committee has
yet to remove themselves from consideration.
EA Sports has released a video featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the making of their TV
commercial for FIFA 11. The video stars Wayne Rooney, Andres Iniesta, Kaka, Mesut Ozil, the Arsenal
ladies and more.
If you haven't seen the FIFA 11 TV commercial yet, watch it now.
And don't forget that FIFA 11 will officially be released on Tuesday, September 28 in North
America, September 30 in Australia and October 1st in Europe.
According to newspaper reports, a consortium of Spanish businessmen are looking to buy a 70% stake
in Thai Port. Quotes from Port vice-president Jetsada Na Phattalung suggest that as well as paying
off the outstanding stadium improvement debts, the Spaniards would be willing to set a budget of
100,000,000 baht for the 2011 season.
During the press conference, Lucas Neill was surprised to learn that the half time entertainment
in the next international fixture would consist of the Australian NT recreating scenes from
'Priscilla Queen Of The Desert'. Image: Getty Images via Zimbio.
We've seen a million "next Harry Kewells" but only one "next new Viduka."
Bruce Djite is clearly not the next Viduka but he did light up the A-League, Asian Champions League
and Olyroos campaign and now he's back at Gold Coast United.
In need of confidence as his game suffered as he failed to make a real impact in Turkey, what
better place than Australia to make his mark second time around.
EA Sports has released footage of the next gen gameplay for the FIFA 11 video game, which is
scheduled for release this autumn.
In the above video, you can see gameplay from Arsenal versus Real Madrid. It features the Next
Gen Gameplay Engine which will be available on FIFA 11 for the Xbox 360, PC and PS3.
Central Coast reminded us what can happen to a club that feels hard done by. However, Newcastle has
had six years of issues with financing, winning the title, dud foreign players, sacking coaches,
open disagreements between the owner and fans.
While I think Branco Culina could be the best coach in Australia, it may be that he will struggle
with the current odds.

All the Arsenal supporters have directed their anger at Arsene Wenger for not buying a new
goalkeeper this summer, but it seems that Mark Schwarzer is jus as annoyed that he wasn't allowed
to move to the Emirates. He was mysteriously injured during the first few games of the season while
Arsenal were still trying to [.
Phoenix Suns forward Hedo Turkoglu scored 20 points and Sinan Guler chipped in 17 as Turkey came
away with a 95-77 win over France on Sunday at the FIBA World Championship. A crowd of 15,500 fans
(including 22 members of the Turkish soccer team) cheered on the home team to victory in the round
of 16 game.

Las Leonas cerraron su actuación en la fase de grupos con otra victoria, para tener puntaje
perfecto, y asegurarse el primer lugar de la zona. Fue un partido trabado, aunque dominaron el
trámite durante los 70 minutos de juego.
Was a better performance against Ukraine accidental or is it a stable trend? Our first ever
encounter with Australia should give us a clue whether the team is really going in the right
direction. Franz Smuda announces two or three changes in the starting lineup. Check the preview to
find out who's going to get his chance.
Part Two of My "Favorite Album" arrives with a Lemon Parade, a man people love to hate, the gospel
album for people that don't like gospel albums and more.
If you haven't read Part One, you can enjoy it HERE.
Before we begin, let me recap what this project is about:
I've decided to ignore most of the rules and start the process of building a list of my favorite
albums of all time.
Great to see the fans rolling in at Perth Glory; makes for a great atmosphere. But how long will it
last?
Having listened to the Glory fans over the years, singing their stupid "You FAT Bastard" chant and
swearing through many songs it's finally dawned on the club and the fans that this might
actually:
Dissuade Sponsors
Dissuade TV Viewers
and more importantly dissuade fans and families.
Problems are mounting for the defending Australian champions Sydney FC having played six games
in the 2010-11 season thus far. The club has failed to win a single game in that time and for coach
Vítězslav Lavička the current run of bad form is a growing concern especially as his team had
high expectations to retain the title they won in dramatic fashion in 2009-10.
www.profootballtrials.co.uk are on the march.
Despite all the regulations coming from FIFA and the FFA organisations such as the one above are
coming to a town near you, in this case, Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne and are offering "5 free
trips to selected players," to Europe.
Really?
A-League new boys Melbourne Heart have apparently said "thanks, but no thanks" to Ronaldo's
offer to wear their (checks Wikipedia) red and white striped shirt. Not because they think the
great man would struggle in the A-League, but because El Fenómeno was apparently asking for
$100,000-per-game on a sort of celebrity guest appearance basis.

FFA and many Australians talk about the Grassroots saving the game, the A-League.
Well wake up Australia, and wake up Australia; they won't save anything, not yet anyway.
Have the FFA ever been to a grassroots club? Have they spent a few nights at training at your
average grassroots club, or attended on matchday and listened to the conversations?
Robbie Fowler is sometimes called God by SMH journo Mike Cockerill but most of us just know him as
an ex-Liverpool player who had basically completed his work by age 24!
For ten years he lived on his memories of his significant achievements at Liverpool and then he
came to Australia. We wondered if Mr Fatty would pass the mark and he, surprisingly to us cynics,
did.
With all the Football shows in Australia concentrating on the off-field antics this week it's nice
to see the football take centre stage again.
Two to watch:
Newcastle Jets v Perth; I'm adoring Robbie at the moment so nice to see how the Glory respond to
the Jets woes.
And Brisbane v Adelaide United: League leaders can they be tamed?
EA Sports has released their official US TV commercial for the upcoming release of the FIFA 11
video game.
The FIFA 11 video is choc-a-bloc with football superstars such as Rooney, Ozil, Cech, Iniesta
and many more. It's one of those videos that you'll want to watch over and over again, and each
time you do you'll probably notice something different.
Small sided games is the buzz word in Australia football? Isn't it?
You know 4 v 4 or 5 v 5 is the usual model played with kids used at half-time in the professional
arena's to entertain and educate the crowds.
Not in the Gold Coast.
Yesterday with FFA Technical Director Han Berger watching did you see the 10 v 10 game with one
ball and played in a small area at half-time during the Gold Coast game screened on Fox Sports.
For 88 minutes Gold Coast can showed how dull short passing possession football can be. Especially
when so many runs end in a poor pass or shot from way too far out. Then right back John Curtis
worked some individual magic on his own for a cracking goal to save the game.
Newcastle found it too easy to sit back and defend for all but around 15 minutes in the middle of
the second half.
Could this week get any worse? We have hit the "push a puppy out of the way" stage of cranky
already and certainly didn't need to see the cover of In Touch magazine's David Beckham + Hooker =
Anger Making Skankocity tag line.
So, in the name of our delicate constitutions, how about we just make a few key points about how
this story is being reported, and then if it's alright, we'll head back to checking if our local
chocolate factory has agreed to let us take up employment?
Adelaide streaked further ahead in the A-League in Australia this weekend; for the simple reason
they have more than one goalscorer and can score more than one goal a game.
In the EPL Chelsea are among the top scorers and lead the way in the scrong charts and the same is
true in Australia.
