Este mundial donde estrellas de todas partes del orbe empiezan a deslumbrar con su brillo juvenil
en las canchas, en esta ocasión México no acudió, pero aun así el torneo es mucho muy
interesante.
There are plenty of promising players in Major League Soccer, and many of proven quality too.
Despite Europe's negative perception of the United States' flagship football league there is a good
deal of talent currently plying its trade Stateside.
Many players have played on both sides of the Atlantic already.
An fiercely contested AFC Women's Under-19 Championship soccer match between hosts China and
Australia ended with a mass brawl earlier today. According to sportal.com.au: ...following the
final whistle, an Australia player fell to the ground while remonstrating with the Chinese,
prompting captain Tameka Butt to charge across the pitch and grab the perceived offender.
Unknown 21-year-old defensive midfielder Goran Subara, from the NSW Super League, has signed a one
year deal with S-League club Gombak United. Gombak general manager Lawrence Lau tells
au.fourfourtwo.com that the young Aussie has impressed the coaching staff at the club despite being
a virtual unknown in his homeland.
Our most viewed post of the past week featured pictures of the Australia vs. China Women's AFC
Under-19 Championship post-match brawl. In the aftermath of the incident, Football Federation
Australia will has stated that it will interview players, coaching staff and management of the
Young Matildas in an investigation.
Welsh...you're joking, Greek..me never, Scottish...not after last weeks results in the World
Cup.
Guess who is going to the World Cup in 2010..Australia...and suddenly Rhys Williams (Wales) Dean
Bouzanis (Greece) and Brad Inman (Scotland) Shane Lowry (Ireland) have all decided they are
AUSTRALIAN.

It's not quite brawl-from-every-angle-John-Woo-type footage, but it's something - and something, as
they say, is more than nothing. In case you missed it earlier in the week, the Chinese and
Australian girls U19 teams brawled after a game in China, which vaulted a China v Australia U19
game to international interest the only way possible.
The latest FIFA World Rankings are out and Brazil has overtaken Spain for the top spot with
their win in the 2009 Confederations Cup. The United States saw their ranking improve with a strong
performance to reach the finals but the biggest mover into the top 20 were Australia (moved up 13
spots) and the Ivory Coast (moved up 20 spots).
A bullying, selfish FIFA Confederation President pursuing his own agenda to the detriment of the
development of the beautiful game? No, not Jack Warner, but AFC boss Mohamed Bin Hammam.
That, at least, is the perspective of much of New Zealand's soccer media this week, following
the AFC's ultimatum to New Zealand's Wellington Phoenix, who play in Australia's A-League: become a
lot more Australian, or else.
It's time we started getting to know the 32 teams who will compete at World Cup 2010, and what
better way to get familiar than with a nickname? Below you'll find a list of the 32 teams, followed
by their most common nickname or nicknames.
Team nicknames usually refer to the colour of the shirt (eg the Azzurri or Les Bleus) or some
element of the football association crest (eg The Three Lions).

Hmmm - the usual internet issues this morning - and an e-mail from FairPoint indicating that my

Could you maybe help me with the little e-mail issue that I've now contacted you about TWICE?

Uzbekistan#8217;s hardcore training is in vain The Socceroos have become the first side to qualify
for next year#8217;s World Cup in South Africa after a 2-0 win over Uzbekistan. A goal from Josh
Kennedy (no relation to Dr Karl) and a Harry Kewell penalty gave Australia the victory they needed
to secure qualification with three games [.
Had a chat with FFA Tech Director Han Berger, the man with the plan to take the game forward over
the next four years in Australia.
He has the ear of Pim, or Tim Verbeek as he's known on Channel 9, and picked the Under 13 boys team
this week at the National Championships.
He has opinions on elite football, junior football and everything you'd hope for from a Technical
Director.
More Socceroo hatred After Monday's Bahrain video and last month's effort from Uzbekistan, Japan
are the latest of Australia's World Cup qualification opponents to turn to alternative training
methods in their quest to see off the mighty Socceroos. At first we suspected Nike were behind
this, but the final shot in this video is a bit of [.
A special edition of the New Additions feature here on Les Rosbifs. Thanks to the wonderful people
on the SI Games forums, most notably their Australian researcher 'Roger', a whole host of
Englishmen have been dredged up and not just in the A-League. A whole host of English footballers
are kicking about in the [.
Over the past few weeks, numerous nations have bid for the rights to host the 2018 & 2002 FIFA
World Cup. Since the 2018 World Cup is closer most of the news about host nation bids concerns the
2018 tournament. With 2010 in South Africa and 2014 in Brazil, nations from UEFA, CONCACAF,
Asia can [...
4×4 reactions This Nike (?) viral follows hot on the heels of the crazy Uzbekistan training video
we brought you. And it follows the similar narrative of Australia's World Cup qualification
opponents going to great lengths in their training to keep the Socceroos at bay. In what could
prove to be an effective training technique for Premier [.
Japan captain Yuji Nakazawa is pissed-off!
Not only did the Yokohama defender miss Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Australia in Melbourne with a
migraine but Nakazawa has admitted that defeat to "pizza-eating" Australia in their final World Cup
qualifier stung badly.
"We were beaten by pizza eaters," Nakazawa told Japan's Fuji newspaper.
Coming on to start the second half, Eddie Johnson set up Erik Nevland on his first and third
goals, helping Fulham break open a 1-0 lead en route to a 5-0 victory over Perth Glory. Eddie's
now got a goal and two assists in his last two substitute appearances in Fulham's preseason tour of
Australia.
Good piece by Henry Winter in todays Telegraph, about how dangerous a First Round Draw England
could get despite the fact that we will almost certainly be seeded (won't be officially announced
untill all the teams are through and FIFA has worked out the best way to get the big teams through
the fairest way for everyone to play against each other.
World Soccer and SI.com have the latest take on the contenders for the 2018 and 2022 World Cup
hosts. They share my opinion that England remains the heavy favorite for 2018. Suprisingly the
article lists Mexico, not Australia, as the biggest obstacle to the United States bringing home the
2022 event.
South Korea, Japan and Australia may have filled three of Asia's four automatic World Cup
qualification spots with two rounds still to play, but the battle for the last slot will be
fiercely contested between Saudi Arabia, North Korea and Iran.
Hoping to get that last spot.
FFA: Justify your changes to SSG's to our vast majority, our children.
How do your changes benefit our Aussie kids, apart from the 1% of telented players.
So when I played football, my first real game was when I was ten. Until then I played 1 v 1, 2 v 2,
3,v 3 and 8 v 8 whenever we could with whoever we could get.
Yawn! Oh, someone wake me when it's over... ah, it is! So that's it, 0-0... well I guess it's
better than a loss but man this match was as boring as bat-shit. And to the 90,000 fans who were
expecting Kewell and got Cole, well I hope you weren't too disappointed... good effort, but maybe
next time?
With Australia playing Qatar on June 6 in Doha I have had some e-mails asking
about tickets for the match.
Tickets to matches are the responsibility of the host nation. When we played in
Qatar last year the tickets were not on sale until a few days before the match, and only available
in Qatar.
Again, the Italians acting on the football pitch got them another victory. They won over United
States in the Confederation Cup 3-1.
Ricardo Clark made a late time tackle against Gattuso.
Obviously, it was a foul. But not a red card. But Gattuso's acting touched the referee's emotions
and shown Clark the exit.
Nothing referencing his days in Tampa, but interesting none the less, is this interview at Goal.com
from March with the one time Rowdies forward, Adrian Alston [pictured right as he looks today].
Alston was an English born Aussie who played in the World Cup for Australia. He scored eight goals
in nineteen games during his brief stay with the Rowdies.

International press conferences at the best of times tend to be mundane, by the numbers affairs
filled with platitudes by the key figures within the national side. Not much changes when it comes
to conferences prior to World Cup qualifiers, or even the finals itself, but within the words
always lies a common train of thought: There are few, if any greater honours in football than
representing your country at the World Cup.
Australia would be concerned after their 3-1 loss to South Korea. The Socceroos were wobbly, unsure
and overly cautious and made a mockery of their FIFA ranking of 14. Pim Verbeek has much to think
about between now and next year's World Cup in South Africa. On the one ...
Australia is excited with Oranje's presence Down Under. The friendly against the Socceroos coming
Saturday is close to being sold out (45.000 tickets sold). It doesn't happen too often in Oz, the
visit of a top nation. The Aussies praise Oranje for coming down mid-season. Most nations only want
to
Well, we are about one week into 2009 and here in Australia things are starting to ramp up for the
new soccer season starting shortly. In Australia, we are currently in our off season. Things
are pretty quite, well they are suppose to be anyway. We still have our National competition,
the Hyundai A League underway, [.
That Dutch striker with some Indonesian blood has had a pretty good season in Australia with
Queensland Roar where he is apparently contracted till 2010. But according to this story it hasn't
stopped Indonesian clubs sniffing round.
Among the sniffers are both double winners Sriwijaya and Pelita Jaya.
FFA Technical Director Han Berger talking at the National Junior Championships in Canberra
yesterday said there is a chapter in the National Curriculum (coming soon) about the financial
barrier for football.
Football became the World's game because it's so easily accessible for everyone, rich
or poor, everyone can play.
No I haven't gone mad..research shows if you want your kid to succeed at football in Australia or
indeed any other sport this weekend could be the one.
The next and newest Australian National teams are about to be picked. Australia Under 13 girls and
Under 14 for boys! With the girls heading to Vietnam and the boys to Malaysia in the coming months,
both historic sides will be picked from the week long tournaments which take place in Canberra this
weekend.
Former Futsalroo, Head of Coerver Coaching Australia and Canberra Jason Lancsar returned my call
last night from the train from London to Newcastle!
"I'm with
Alf (Galustian, Head of Coerver International) we're heading to Newcastle to do some work with
them," said Jason.
"You'd better hurry coz they are woeful and could get relegated tonight.
Thailand midfielder Surat Sukha is set to become the first Thai to play in the Australian
league.
Great news for the A-League and a fantastic initiative by Melbourne. Let's Surat brings a little
bit of Thai football skill to our league and has a great season.
And for my AFL friends when did a Melbourne AFL Club ever recruit an Asian player!
